The thieving Mamodo and human had just finished up their last job and we were just now sitting at an old coffee house called Old Nellie's. Their line of work isn't exactly what you would call legal, actually they don't even know if you could call it work. They were thieves and they weren't no Robin Hood's either. They took from the rich and kept all the money for themselves and didn't care about anyone else.

They weren't ordinary partners earthier. Partners meet up and agree to help because of there same goals or because they were old friends, but not them. The human met his Mamodo Shizi in a very odd way.

He was just walking by Oakland Park on his way home when he eard a scream. When he looked up he saw a small girl running away from two older men. She bumped into him and fell over and a strange book fell out of her coat. She looked up at the human for a few seconds and then back at the men. It seemed as if she almost hissed at them as if she was a wild animal and they were predators trying to harm her.

He looked down at the ground and saw that she dropped a book. When he picked it up, he could automatically tell that the book wasn't from around here. There were strange characters all throughout the pages and the human couldn't make out any of them. When he skimmed through the book he came across a page where he could read something. It wasn't much, barely even a line, and it was hard to read.

The human tried to read it out loud and when he did, the book started to glow a weird orangeish color and then it shot something at the girl. The girl seemed to morph in front of his eyes. She now had wings on her back, almost bat like, and claws as long as his fingers. She dashed at the men and in seconds, they were beat.

He was terrified. It wasn't normal for a girl to do that, at least not a human girl. She turned back at him and stared. She closed her eyes and her wings and claws started to disappear, almost as if they were never there.

She walked towards him and he couldn't move. It felt as his feet were glued to the ground and that he was trapped. She now stood right in front of him, staring at me with her piercing blue eyes. He was sure she was going to kill him, but to his surprise, she didn't. He looked back down at her, confused, and then she talked. It was only one word,

"Name"

He just stared back at her as if she was insane. He didn't know what she wanted and he didn't know if he wanted to. She then spoke again,

"What is your name?" She asked with annoyance written all over her face. He stared at her for a few more seconds and then answered.

"Van. My name is Van" He stuttered out.

She then smiled back up at Van and said four simple words that changed his life forever "You are my partner"

Van looked back down at her and thought for a few seconds. He decided to go along with it and ever since then, they have been a team.

Now, back to the present. As it was said before, Van and Shizi were both sitting at Old Nellie's coffee shop. Shizi was trying to take his doughnut from him, but before she could, Van ate it.

She just sat her head down on the table and started complaining

"Man, why did you have to mess up. Our funds are already low and we could have really used the money. If we run out of money then we can't but any of those caramel candies that I love."

"Shut up" Van said back, "If I didn't remove my arm back then, then I wouldn't have it. We could always try to sell pictures of you again. People seem to like you, in your model form at least." Van said, looking over at her.

"NO" Was all the reply that he got.

Van stared around the room to see if there was anything worth stealing when something caught his eye.

This shop had a TV that looked as if it was 50 years old and by the looks of the rest of the town, it very well could have been, But the TV wasn't what caught his attention, but what was on it. On the news it was saying how some local guy saved a child from a supposedly evil animal and was now being rewarded. He didn't care about the child or the safety of the the stupid people there, but Van like the sound of getting paid for doing almost nothing.

He looked down at his spell book and then back up to Shizi and a smile formed on his lips.

"Shizi, I think I know a way to make money and all I will have to do is read spell number three." This got her attention. She looked back up at Van.

"And how would we do that? That spell only makes people scared of me. It doesn't make money come out of nowhere, sadly." She said

"Exactly. You will scare everyone and then i will come in and save the day. I just saw someone on the television do the same thing and he got a ton of cash. Besides, afterwards we can get you some of those caramel candies that you love so much."

Her face perked up almost automatically.

"OK, but only if you take me to the park too" she stated with a smile planted on her face.

Van looked down at her and smiled, " you are getting eviler each and every day, just like me. I am so proud." He said " Fine, let's head on out to the park then."

They both got up and headed off towards the park. It wasn't far away and all Van could think about was all the money they would be taking from these suckers. Being evil was the greatest and no one could stop them.

When they got there, the place was packed. Shizi was complaining about all the kids on the slides and when he told her to just wait her turn, she started to threaten him that if he didn't use the spell then she wouldn't help him. Van was so proud of her progress as a villain, so he did as she asked. He opened the book and said one of the spells.

"Seiru"

Suddenly Shizi started to transform into some kind of beast. She had the body of a wolf and had bat wings and horns. She grew razor sharp claws and teeth as sharp as a sharks.

All the kids ran away screaming. Van and Shizi were both satisfied until they heard something

"You villains are not safe, I'm here."

And another sound that sounded like a spell.

"Beruka!"

A sound wave was sent in Van's direction, he dodges with unbelievable acrobatics. After dodging he turns around and sees the hero with his human partner. The Mamodo was taller than the human, six feet while his human was five feet, wearing blue armour, having angelic wings on his back, and had big lips. The human had purple hair covering his eyes completely, a purple shirt, blue pans, and no visible nose anywhere. Van burst out laughing.

"What a ridiculous costume. And who are you suppose to be? Angel? Blue Helmet? Shield Face?" Van asked with mockery in his voice.
