Merry Belated Christmas! I had a good holiday; I was lazy for the majority of it.

Set during and after The Balance.

Disclaimer: Still don't own DC. Wish I did, but Santa didn't think I was good enough.

Wally's POV

A knock came from the front door. Wally quickly set the table before greeting their guest. "Hey Dick!" he smiled at the man in the doorway holding a casserole.

"Wallman! How's it going?" asked Dick as he walked inside the house. The speedster took the casserole and ran to the kitchen. He came back empty handed. He led his best friend to the living room and sat on the couch. Dick whistled. "B really goes over the top on his gifts, doesn't he?"

The redhead didn't respond but sent his friend a deadpanned look. Dick saw through his act, though. Wally grew up with parents who showed about as much affection as Bruce. The thing was that Wally needed to be shown that people physically cared about him. He needed to be able to receive smiles and hugs from those close to him, the reassurance that he wasn't alone in the world. Rudolf and Mary didn't understand that. They hardly ever acknowledged any achievement he received in school and refused to buy him the latest scientific home sets, believing those things weren't what a 'real man' should ever even wish for. Having so much money spent on him to just make his life easier was a huge deal to him.

"So," the raven began in an attempt to change topics, "how was 'Operation: Rekindle Diana and Shayera's Friendship' go?"

Wally groaned. "Didn't work. I just don't get why Di's still holding a grudge. She's usually so levelheaded. Shay's not helping things, either. It's like there's a giant pit between them, and everytimeItrytocloseit, somethingmakesitwiderandIjust…"

A hand patted his shoulder. Looking up, he saw Dick giving him a smile. He sighed. He knew that he shouldn't be unloading all this stuff on his friend, but he couldn't see any plan that would reconcile the two women.

"Ohmigosh! You're Dick Greyson! I read all about you! Did you know you hold a world record in acrobatics?" A young brunette raced into the room.

"Bart! What did I tell you about wearing your boots inside? The snow makes the floor slick," Wally exclaimed while throwing his hands in the air. He looked around. "Where's Thad?"

Said boy walked into the kitchen while his brother ran to the door to take off his snow boots. He was back in an instant.

Shayera's POV

The redheaded woman looked up to see Diana standing in the doorframe to her bedroom. The princess had a pensive look on her face. "What is it?" Shayera asked after a few moments.

"At dinner, you spoke to my mother of children with understanding." The dark haired woman paused before continuing. "It was if you yourself had a child."

Shayera nodded and simply said, "A boy, less than a year. His name's Rex."

The other woman returned the nod. "Is there… others in the League you know of with children? Perhaps around thirteen?" At the look she was given, the Amazon sighed.

"My new little sister in justice," Diana began (ignoring the redhead's correction of "sidekick") is much to handle. I have never given thought to helping a child in her growth. Her own mother is busy, so I feel I need to take part in raising her. I…" the woman trailed off.

Shayera smiled. The two ended up talking for an hour before Shayera made a few calls.

TBC…

Another short one, but I'm trying. It's just hard to think of stuff to write.

The meeting of the kids is going to be soon. You know what that means; Conner's coming. It'll be in the next one or two chapters.

Please review. Suggestions are welcomed (especially how you want the kid's reactions to each other to be).
