The clocked never seemed to be any quieter, each tick always sounded like a gong ringing through room. The sound was deafening, when compared to the silence. The other thing Zack could never get used to was the assault on his nose caused by the cleaner. It never seemed to get easier coming to this place,this room of isolation. The only other people he saw come here were always leaving the office. Most of them were old and over half of them always left crying. The doctor had tried getting Zack to talk but nothing ever came out. He just grunted or groaned, sometimes the silence inside the office was worse than that of the waiting room. At least out here he had the deafening clock to comfort him, each tick reminding him that he was wasting his life sitting in this god awful place. His mother had to work so he was there earlier then expected. All he could do was sit and wait, if he left the doctor would inform his mother and he would rather be bored than fight a raging bull. As he waited he started to slowly drift off to sleep.

"Hey...Hey...Wake up" Zack heard a voice pull him from his sleep "are you alive in there" he felt a hard tapping on top of his head. As his eyes opened he was surprised to find someone ungodly close to him. He blinked his eyes for a few seconds and examined this face that was inches away from his own. The eyes staring into his were a bright emerald green, although he could only see one due to the chestnut brown hair that hid the other one. Instead of the normal bleach cleaner smell his nose was tantalized by something he couldn't quite make out in his sleepy state. Their skin was perfect, there were no imperfections on it.

"Hey you. It's your turn. The doc asked me to send you in. I finished early so maybe you will too. Now get up so I can go home" he heard the voice say.

"Hey...uh sorry... I dozed off. I haven't seen you here" Zack said without really thinking.

"I'm new...now get up"

"Yea...thanks for waking me" Zack replied "what's your name"

"That doesn't really matter now does it" the person said as they turned to leave.

"It doesn't but you don't need to be rude about it" Zack said under his breath and standing up. The person stopped in the doorway and sighed

"And mutter under your breath is so polite. If you must know that badly you can call me sky" they replied.

"Can I ask you one more thing" Zack questioned

"What. I would like to go home" Sky replied.

"Are you a guy or a chick" he asked. Sky left the door frame and went up to Zack. As Sky reached him they leaned in and kissed him. Zack was so stunned he couldn't move.

"Maybe I'll tell you next time" Sky replied before turning and leaving the office. Zack was bewildered, he had no idea what had just happened. He had no idea who just kissed him, and worst off all he didn't know if it was a girl or a boy he had just "cheated" on Cody with. He was called back to earth by the doctor who had left his office and come into the waiting room.

"I see you met Sky. Very intriguing person if I say so myself." The doctor said.

"Yea I'd say so" Zack replied as he followed the doctor into the office.

I hope you guys like this short chapter on Zack and his new friend. When I decided to add a new character I had no idea how hard it is to write a character that could be either male or female and not give it away (and yes Sky is a gender neutral name). I kept wanting to put the gender when typing lol. So guys leave me your comments. Tell me if you think Sky is a boy or a girl.
