Wow, I got this out quick. It's a fairly good length, too, considering what I've been doing lately.
This episode is set on the day after the last chapter and during Flashpoint.
Enjoy!
Disclaimer: My birthday's coming up, so I may get DC Comics or DCAU soon, but until further notice, I don't.
Bart's POV
"So, let me get this straight," Jason said to the two boys in his living room. "You guys want to become your own team." Bart nodded along with his friend. "And your mentors said you needed adult supervision." More nods. "And you want me to do it." More nods again. "Why?"
Bart spoke before anyone else could. "'Cause you're cool! But you're still a grown up. Plus, Tim gets to spend more time with you. Hereallywantstoseeyoumorebuthecan'tbecauseofBatmananduuummmpphhhh." Tim placed his hand over Bart's mouth, cheeks turning a deep pink.
The man nodded. "You guys do know that nobody will let me help, right. Not saying that I want to or anything, you kids are way too annoying to be around, but… Tim? Are you pouting? Look, Babybird, you're alright, and I would help if I could but…"
"Great!" Tim said, his face sprouting a small smile. "Here's the address to our HQ. We meet every weekend from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon." He handed his brother a paper.
"But I didn't… Oh, Tim! Don't give me that face!" Then Jason sighed. "Fine. I'll be there." The rest of the statement was mumbled, but the brunette thought he heard something like "annoying brats."
He smiled and high fived his friend. Victory!
Wally's POV
Flash walked to stand by Green Arrow. "GA's not the only one. I'm scared of us! People have every right to keep an eye on us," he told Superman. Just the thought of meta humans attacking his kids nearly gave him a heart attack. Sure, superheroes were looked up to, but, well, "absolute power corrupts absolutely," as they say.
"They cloned me!" Kara yelled.
"So?" Wally asked. Then, he paused and turned towards the last son of Krypton, narrowing his eyes. Connor was a clone made by Cadmus, so the young blonde should be used to the idea, but she wasn't. So Clark hasn't told her yet.
Oliver opened his mouth when the alarm went off, and from there everything was chaos. J'onn struggled to turn off the cannon, but it wasn't working. Even taking the wires out was doing no good.
Wally made a split second decision and ran down to the fusion cannon's manual computer room. It had been installed to aim and fire the weapon if necessary before the main computer system was operational. The redhead wracked his brain before putting new coordinates to fire at. After they were accepted as the new target location for the blast, he sighed in relief and ran back to assure the Martian.
"Flash, report," J'onn commanded in a relieved tone. He read his friend's mind, so reporting it was really just a formality.
The speedster smiled. "I managed to redirect the blast to an abandoned town in Colorado. It's a few hours from Denver, so we should send some people down to make sure everything's okay." Then, he rushed to gather a team.
-LINE BREAK-
Shayera's POV
Shayera was waiting outside of an infirmary room for her friend when the lights went off. She had heard J'onn's message, but she didn't think the blast took so much energy. The emergency power for the medical wing came on, and the door opened.
"What do you think that was about?" Helena asked. She and the other heroine started walking down the hallway.
The red head shrugged slightly. "No clue. We'd get a message if the Earth was under attack, so…" she trailed off.
Huntress sat down at a nearby table. "Enough with the chit chat," she said. "Tell me all about this kid of yours.
Her friend laughed and pulled out a picture. ""His name is Rex," she stated proudly. As they chatted, Shayera couldn't help but think about how they first met.
Flashback
Shayera entered the small gym on the second floor. Not many people used it, so she could train there without all the stares. Coming back to the League was the right decision, but most of the other members didn't trust her. The few who did practically worshipped her for helping to found the organization.
She stopped just inside the door. Someone else was in the room. More specifically, a rather pretty woman with black hair and obsidian eyes. She wore a dark purple suit trimmed with white and pink and a cape.
The winged woman was about to turn to leave when she heard the other's voice. "Come to fight?" she asked, motioning to the tattered dummy by her.
Shayera paused before smirking. "Need a partner?" That sentence started a beautiful close friendship between her and Helena Bertinelli.
End Flashback
The red head came out of the memory. "What are you going to do now?"
"Nonno yet," the raven said thoughtfully. "May I'll try doing my own thing from now on. You know, stopping the crime the League doesn't get."
Shayera smirked. "I'm sure Question will tell you about them when he comes to see you every night." She laughed as Helena blushed.
TBC…
This is the first major thing that Wally changed. I didn't like the scene where the cannon hit a populated city, so it was redirected to a ghost town called Gilman, Colorado (which is real).
I think Shayera and Helena would make good friends. Their personalities are similar and, being from a crime family, Helena probably doesn't listen to prejudice.
Review please! Suggestions are welcomed.
