Summary
When Rachel walked into Callbacks one night, she meets a girl who takes her breath away and they begin to talk then they become friends that move in together at some point. What if Rachel soon realizes that she might having feelings for her after they move into the loft in Bushwick together.
Will they be just friends or will it grow into a romantic relationship. Rachel can be with a girl or guy in this story. She's not putting a label on it.
How will Kurt and Santana react to Rachel being with a girl? How will Finn be when he shows up months later?
Kurt will be in the Second chapter and in the story from now on. Santana will move in a little later into the story.
Rachel and OC romantic story with friendships on the side. I hope you all like this new story. Rated T in the beginning but it will change Rated M later into the story.
Simone and Rachel become a couple in this chapter. Also Santana and Quinn visit in this chapter and stay for a few other chapters.

Simone and Rachel spent some together after she was done with her yoga class and Simone was done getting her nails done. Simone was done getting her nails done with her friends. Simone told Rachel that Quinn called and she was okay with her answering her phone.
Rachel hasn't really spoken to Quinn since she gave her a train ticket to New Haven. Quinn told her that she bought one for New York. Maybe one of these days she'll use the ticket and go see her at Yale.
It's been two weeks since Rachel's old girlfriend came to their loft for a movie night and a sleepover. Simone can only tolorate so much of Meena's voice. She needed time away from that girl. She was taking up so much time with Rachel. This was their time together to figure out if they worked together as a couple or not.
How could she compete with an ex girlfriend or an ex boyfriend? Meena, Jesse and Finn knew things about Rachel that herself didn't. It really sucks.
"Aright students have a great weekend everybody and I'll see you Thursday." Simone grabbed her bag waving goodbye to some of her friends that were in her class then left the room.
"Miss Edwards. May I have a word?" She turned back to her professor and walked over to him.
"Yes Mr. Armstrong?" He hands Simone her paper. She frowns seeing the grade on her music composition paper. She worked really hard on the assignment and she got a low grade? This wasn't fair.
"I thought I did everything right? Why do I have a low grade?"
"It was all over the place Simone. This is your second year in my class! I told you to practice all summer long. Your one of my best students here at NYADA. The musical notes are all wrong and in the wrong place. I'm disappointed." Simone glared at him.
"I'm doing the best I can Mr. Armstrong. I have other stuff going on in my life." She spoke truthfully.
"I understand that the social part of college is important but take some time away from that and focus on this. I expect a much better song when I see you on Thursday which is when this song is due." He hands her a blank music composition paper.
"I need alot better from you Simone. See you Thursday." She nods taking the paper from him and left the room pissed off.
When she walked out of the room hoping to see Rachel but her favorite person was back in her hometown with Kurt to see some musical at their old school. They were supporting Finn of all people.
"Simone I need to talk to you." She saw her aunty walking towards her and groans.
"Don't give me that look. We need to talk about what you told me before. You know how your little friend knows Shelby." She figured that her aunt was going to bring it up again.
"Why didn't you ask her before she left? Stop being a coward and ask her when she comes back." Cassie rolls her eyes.
"Oh boo hoo. You know I'm not interested in being anywhere near schwimmer. I need to know more information about Shelby. Why are they so close?"
"She's going to think that's why I'm interested in her romantically. I'm not doing it. Woman up and find Shelby yourself." Simone walked off shaking her head.
"Get back here Edwards." Simone ignored her and kept on walking. She was tired of dealing with her aunts problems. Not at NYADA to babysit her drunk Aunt.
In Lima at Night.
It was the night of the musical Grease. Rachel looked at herself loving the outfit Kurt picked out for her. She enjoyed the play alot but she missed Simone.
She needed a break and called Simone.
"Well, hello Schwimmer. How's Ohio?" Rachel stared at her phone confused. Miss July? Why is she answering Simone's phone? Rachel thought.
"Cassandra? I-I was calling for Simone."
"Yeah she's in the shower right now at my place. Do you want me to leave a message?"
"I don't understand. Why are you answering Simone's phone?"
"Because she's clearly busy with me Schwimmer. How's visiting your loser ex boyfriend?" Rachel felt tears burning her eyes.
"That's none of your business. I want to know why your answering Simone's phone." She demanded.
"Because you gave up a wonderful weekend with a super gorgeous girl to see your ex and a lame musical. Your loss is my gain if you know what I mean."
Rachel quickly hangs up after hearing her talk more. She didn't want to hear anymore.
She knew she wasn't Simone's girlfriend but she didn't think she would hook up with Miss July of all people while she was here in her hometown. Rachel stared at herself in the mirror and sighs wiping away her tears and fixed her makeup. She walked out of the bathroom and bumped into somebody.
"Hey,you missed the curtain call." She looked up seeing Finn staring at her.
"Have you been crying?"
"No. I'm fine." She says turning to leave.
"For two years. I was the guy you came to with every little problem. Are we just gonna pretend we're not even friends anymore?" She sighs taking a deep breath and turned around, staring at him.
"I just-I shouldn't have come here. It's just. It's too weird." He stared at her.
"Then why did you come?"
"For Kurt and for you." She couldn't look at him.
"Everything was really, really good. and I had a couple of notes but they were small." Finn chuckles and talks to her more.
"Now will you tell me what you're so upset about?"
"I'd rather not." He realized this was about Simone. The girl that stole Rachel from him, the girl that she was living with.
"It's about her? isn't it? Simone?" She just stared at him.
"I just didn't think you would be moving on that fast." Rachel sighs and listened to him talk about her different ways of crying.
"Well, told you we shouldn't talk about this." She was getting upset. It's just too painful to be around him.
"Well maybe we shouldn't be talking about anything anymore." Her heart felt broken just hearing him say that.
"Is that really what you want?" She just prays that he says no.
"Yeah. No contact. Not even in song." She couldn't even say anything. Rachel just turned around and walked away.
"Rachel I'm sorry for saying that. I don't want it end like this between us." She just kept on walking. Finn couldn't take back what he said now. He made it very clear that they were nothing anymore. They didn't even have a friendship.
"Hey." Rachel stopped walking really glad to see Kurt.
"Mr. Schuester said he wanted to see you in the choir room." Kurt called out to his step brother. Finn walked up to Rachel, whispering in her ear.
"Please drop by before you leave for New York. We need to talk more." He walked past her and waved goodbye to his step brother.
"Are you okay?" She wasn't sure but she knew that being here isn't right anymore.
"I just wanna go home." He stared at her with concern.
"I thought this was home?"
"Doesn't feel like it anymore." She wiped away her tears and frowns seeing Blaine coming their way.
"You okay?" She whispered to her best friend as Blaine asked to talk to Kurt. He nods giving her the hint that it's fine. She walked away from them so they could talk.
In Rachel's POV.
This night turned out being too hard for me. Tonights just being confusing and uncomfortable. Great my phone is ringing again. It was Simone calling me again. I'm not up for talking to her right now.
"Hey Berry, I'm loving the new look. I wish you wore clothes like this while we were in high school" I looked to see Santana out of her costume. She played a really great Rizzo.
"Thanks Santana. You were really great tonight." She walked towards me in one of her skintight dresses and high heeled boots.
"You okay? Did you run into Finn?" I just nodded.
"By the look on your face. I'd say it didn't go so well." Why was she being nice to me? We might have gotten along towards then end of the year but I wouldn't say we were friends.
"No it didn't and I rather you not make some snarky comment about my personal life. I need to go." She raised an eyebrow at me.
"Damn Berry, New York sure has changed you. A new look, standing up for yourself against me of all people? the new Lesbian relationship. I like it."
"I'm not a Lesbian Santana. I don't put a label on my sexuality. Some might say I'm bisexual but I'm not putting a label on it." Santana rolls her eyes.
"Whatever you say Rachel. Where is your lover anyways? She wasn't up for rubbing whatever you have in Hudson's face?"
"She's not my lover and she's back in New York." I turn around to see Kurt in tears and rushed to him.
"Come on. Bye Santana." I said to her.
"Wait I'm going to be visiting you sometime next week." We both say okay before walking out of McKinley High. Once again this doesn't feel like home anymore.
Rachel stopped by the Hudson-Hummel house to pick up Kurt so they can make their way to the airport. She rang the doorbell. The door opens. She looked up seeing Finn standing there.
"Rachel hi. Kurt is out for a few minutes but he told me to tell that he'll be back soon." Great. Rachel thought.
"Come on it's still chilly outside."
"No it's fine I'll go wait in the car for him." She felt Finn grab ahold of her waist.
"Rachel last night I said something that I regret. It's just so hard to see you move on with somebody else." She pulled away from him.
"Finn what do you want? I said that it's just not working anymore. You will always be my first love! Why suffer?"
"Because I love you Rachel. We had something special, don't you miss that?"
"Of course I miss what we had. You know the only time we had a great relationship was the summer before our Senior year and Senior year. You put me on the train for a reason and it was to set me free. What's going on Finn?" He pulled her close again.
"I don't want to set you free. Rachel I don't know what I'm going to do when Mr. Schue leaves, I know nothing about being a choir director." She placed her hand on his cheek.
"Finn you've always been a leader and that made me so proud of you. I think you can handle anything. Look at the musical, it was amazing." He smiles down at her.
"I want to kiss you so badly." She saw him moving closer to her lips. Rachel turned her head.
"We can't. Not when I'm trying to work on my relationship with Simone. Finn your allowed to date other people."
"How can I date a stranger when I've only wanted you? How is it easy for you." It's not easy for her.
"Finn life isn't easy. I'm still not even Simone's girlfriend yet. I want to be but I'm scared of getting my heart broken again. She's different and I really like her." He sighs.
"I guess I should be supportive huh?"He whispered, resting his head against her forehead. Rachel closed her eyes leaning into him.
"When your ready Finn. I just want us to be friends but if you can't be that now then I totally understand." They both just stayed like that for awhile.
"Um what's going on here?" The ex couple pulled away seeing Kurt and Burt.
"We were just catching up. Kurt we need to go back to my place so my dads can take us to the airport." Rachel says slowly pulling away from him.
"Alright let me just get my bags." Rachel nodded, hugging Burt when he came up to her.
"It's great to see you Rachel. Please don't be a stranger." She smiles saying that she won't. They pull away as Burt walks into the house.
"So enjoy your flight. I'll keep intouch." Rachel reaches for his neck and he picks her up holding her close. She giggles hugging Finn. Carole, Burt and Kurt stared at the two.
Carole smiled seeing her son and Rachel together. She loved them together. They will be together again someday but right now they just need to be apart.
Kurt and Blaine were the same way. She loved Blaine with Kurt but sometimes people grow apart after high school.
"Mom? Mom wake up." Carole walks over to the two and hugs both of them.
"Both of you come visit more okay? I miss having you two here." Finn stared at his mom.
"What about me mom?" She pulled away from them, staring at her son.
"Finn you live here. They haven't been here in awhile. Don't be childish." He mutters I'm not.
"Well we better get going. We do have a plane to catch." Kurt tells his family.
"Have a nice flight and please text us when you make it back to your place." Rachel says okay before walking out of the house.
Finn follows her please text me when you get to New York. I want to know you made it safe." She gives him a soft smile.
"I will do that Finn." They hug one last time.
"Alright lets go." Kurt walks out with his bag and hugs his step brother.
"Bye Finn." They both walk to Rachel's car and get in. Rachel and Kurt wave at them before driving off.
In New York.
Simone stood in the cold New York weather waiting for her roommates. She couldn't wait to have Rachel in her arms. She missed both of them but she really missed Rachel more.
"Simone." She looked up seeing Kurt and Rachel walking towards her with their suitcases. She was using her car. She barely uses it but she felt like using it today.
"Hey guys how was the musical?" She hugged Kurt first then reaches to hug Rachel but she just moves away.
"Okay. I have my car so lets put your bags in and we can go somewhere to talk about everything or would you rather go back to the loft?"
"We can go somewhere. I'm starving actually." Rachel just shrugged. Simone stared at her confused.
"Rae are you alright?" Kurt was wondering the same thing. She was fine on the plane but as soon as she saw Simone. Her mood changed.
"Just fine Simone. Can we go now?" They put the bags in Simone car then get in. Rachel sits in the back while Kurt sits in the passanger seat.
Simone wanted to know what's going on with the girl she wanted to be with. They pulled into a parking lot to a place that had great food.
"I'll get us a table while you two talk." Kurt tells them before getting out.
"Babe what's going on?"
"Don't call me that. How was your hook up with miss July? She hates me with a passion and you go sleep her." Simone turned the car off and turned back to her.
"What are you talking about?"
"She answered your phone when I called you, saying that you were at her place taking a shower after you two you know." Rachel says glaring at her.
"I was in the shower but that's because was getting ready for a night in. I am at her place to babysit her drunk ass. What she told was a lie. Rae I would never hurt you like that even if we aren't exclusive. I'm still at her place but not for the reasons you think."
"Why are you babysitting her? She's a grown woman Simone." Rachel said angrily.
"Rae please don't get mad at me. Miss July is my crazy, drunk aunt. Her sister is my mother." What? They are related?
"Why didn't you tell me that she was your aunt?" Simone shrugged.
"Because I know what she's like Rae. I know it doesn't make it right. Can you forgive me?"
"I need time to think. It made me really think about what we're doing. It made me see that I don't want you seeing anybody else."
"It's a good thing I'm not seeing anybody else. I only want to see you Rachel. Please believe me when I tell you that it's wrong to keep things from you. She's a bitter woman who can't deal with her issues. I'm sorry I kept this from you." Rachel starts tearing up.
"Why are you crying?"
"Because I believed her. I guess she was trying to mess with me once again and it worked. I actually thought you would sleep with older woman that hates me."
"Come here." Rachel moves closer to her, staring into her eyes.
"I told you before that I'm all in if you are. I know things are still hard with your relationship with Finn but I'm not your exs. I just need to know if you want me as your girlfriend as much as I want you to be mine." Rachel stared at her before breaking into a huge smile.
"Of course I want to be your girlfriend." She needed to know that for sure.
"What about Finn? Do you still have romantic feelings for him? I mean you did bump into at some point right?" She hasn't really thought about Finn romantically since their official break up.
"Yes we did bump into each other but we agreed to only be friends. He'll always be part of my life but it's not like anymore." Simone wiped away her tears.
"Can we make it official now?" Rachel smiles lightly nodding,wrapping her arms around Simone's neck, leaning up pressing her lips against hers.
Simone grins against her lips. She was super happy to know that Rachel was officially her girlfriend now. This was going to be interesting but she was up for it. Rachel wasn't like any girl she's been with. She liked her alot.
"Come on lets go tell Kurt our great news." Both girls get out of the car and join Kurt telling him. He screams with joy hugging both of them.
"It's about time you two." They all talk and order lunch. Simone kept her hand in Rachel's the whole time.
A few days later, Quinn and Santana finally made it to New York and dropped their stuff off at the hotel they were staying in.
"Santana hurry up I want to go get something to eat." Quinn called out to her best friend. Santana walks out of the bathroom rolling her eyes.
"Listen here tubbers. I'm in the place I've wanted to be in since we came here for Nationals. A girl needs to look for these New York girls." Quinn sighs.
"When are you going to stop calling me tubbers? I haven't been pregnant for awhile now. Beth is a toddler now." Santana walked over to her suitcase looking for an outfit she was going to wear for tonight's dinner with Grandma Berry and Lady Hummel. She really didn't have a nickname for Simone.
"Trust me Q I know how old your child is. Have you talked to Shelby about spending time with Beth?"
"No I was hoping Rachel could help me do that. I know they have some type of relationship these days." Santana turned around.
"You scared she's going to tell you off again? I liked Shelby when she was our show choir director for the Troubletones. She can be very hard on a person. I guess that's where Berry gets it from." Quinn frowns.
"What if Rachel doesn't want a friendship with me? I was pretty mean to her in high school." Santana sits down on Quinn's bed.
"We were both pretty mean to to Berry. It's not like she made it easy for us but I'm tell you this now. She's a different person and if she's willing to give me a chance then she'll be willing to give you one aswell." Quinn smiles at her still unsure.
"Tonight is going to be great. You get to meet Simone, the girl that's stealing your girl crush." Quinn frowns.
"Santana how many time do I have to tell you that Rachel is not my-"
"Don't even think about it Q. I've seen the way you've glanced at Rachel when she wasn't looking. It killed you inside when you found out that Berry and Finessa were engaged to be married. You saved them from making a huge mistake when you got into that car crash."
"Let's not talk about this anymore. I'm hungry for some lunch." Santana says fine and both girls grab their purses and leave with their hotel keys.
"I'm so glad to get out of Lima. I'm sure your happy to get out of Yale." Quinn smiles feeling really glad to not go home to Lima this few days. She wanted to see the City but she also wanted to see how Rachel and Kurt were doing.
"I think were here." Santana pointed to the sign where it says Pinkberry and both girls walked in. Quinn looked around and was about to get her cup when she saw Rachel sitting in the corner smiling brightly while talking to a girl with long blonde hair.
"Is that Rachel?"Santana turned her head and saw Rachel laughing with the girl. They were about to go over to them when they froze. Rachel was kissing the girl. Both girls kept kissing not noticing Quinn and Santana were staring at them. Santana had a proud smirk on her face while Quinn had a frown on hers. She had no idea why she was feeling this way. It's just so strange to see Rachel Berry of all people kissing somebody that was Finn Hudson. A girl of all people.
Quinn didn't feel like frozen yogurt anymore.
"I'll just wait for you outside." Santana stared at her best friend confused.
"But you said th-"
"I'm just not up for it anymore." Quinn just walked out taking a deep breath. Why was she feeling this way? Was Santana right? Does she have romantic feelings towards Rachel Berry?
