"Hi! I'm Patricia Peloza," Patricia/Persephone smiled sweetly. "Please to meet you!"
Nico turned to her with an odd look on his face. He seemed to be deciding if she was either crazy or dumb. Either way, he felt suspicious of her. It was kind of obvious that he would, Persephone and Nico didn't have a good history before. The training grounds seemed to silence between the two. The kids frantically rushing around to patch the hole in the Demeter cabin faded out. Ms. O'Leary's loud pants seemed to be a soft humming now.
"Hi," he responded after a while and went back to calming Ms. O'Leary down.
Patricia looked up at the dog and got an idea. "Say, I'll make a deal with you."
Nico looked back to her with a raised brow. His suspicion of her was growing by the second. This 'Patricia' was definitely up to no good.
"How about," she looked to the son of Hades, "I'll help you manage this guy and you'll truthfully answer my question."
"Why would I do that?"
She faked an innocent look. "Well, I could just say Fe-"
"Fine!" Nico hastily responded.
"Swear on the River Styx," Patricia smiled in triumph.
" What? No!"
"Feeeeeeetttttttttt…"
Nico scowled and glared at the girl. "I swear on the River Styx."
Thunder boomed in the sky and Patricia grinned widely. She quickly went to work with Ms. O'Leary. Cerberus use to have the exact same problem as Ms. O'Leary, but Persephone was the one who resolved that problem. It was simple, it was reteaching her how to fetch with dog food. She gave the hellhound food when he did the command correctly but swatted her nose when she did it incorrectly. With an hour or two, Ms. O'Leary learned how to retrieve a shield as long as it didn't touch any structures. Nico and may others were awe-struck as Patricia managed to do what they considered as an impossible feat. Well, it was impossible since mostly everyone was in school.
"Okay!" Patricia smiled cheerfully at Nico. "Now you have to keep your part of the deal."
"Okay," Nico readied himself to answer something very serious.
"Do you like Will Solace?"
THUD!
That was the sound of Nico falling to the ground in surprise.
"What?!"
Patricia gave him a smug look. "You heard me, do you like Will Solace?"
"My gods, if Percy or Jason made you do this, I'll-"
"Nope! All me, Nico."
Patricia held her hand out to Nico who took it with hesitance. She pulled him up and gave him a look. He clicked his tongue in annoyance and mumbled something under his breath.
Patricia held her hand to her ear. "What? I didn't hear you!"
" I do like him," Nico admitted and glared at her in anger. "Happy?"
Patricia chuckled and patted his head. "Very."
The other campers started to disperse from the whole "Patricia teaching Ms. O'Leary" scene to worry more on the Demeter cabin. Patricia started to chat with Nico and apologized as well. She didn't mean to be rude, but it seemed like the only way to get an answer from someone as stubborn as Nico. Will was in the background, watching them interact and slowly getting a little jealous of Patricia. The goddess in disguise decided to bid Nico farewell and went back to Will.
"I told him!" Patricia grinned.
Will turned away. "And why did he say?"
Patricia tried to get a clear view of Will's face and blinked. "Are you jealous?"
"What? No!"
"Will, I asked him and he said yes."
He looked at the girl in disbelief but laughed at her. "That's funny! Why would Nico like someone like me? We're total opposites!"
"Why do you like Nico?" Patricia interrupted him. "Why does Hades love Persephone? Why would someone like another that's totally different from them, Will Solace?"
Will stopped his doubting for a moment and gave her a surprised look. She was totally and utterly serious about the questions.
"Well, Nico is so… mysterious and cool! He's always alone and I feel like he gets very lonely. I'd hate to be alone. In fact, he's always alone and I want to show him that he doesn't need to be that. And every time he smiles, even the smallest, it's so… I can't even describe it. He's like a puzzle I really want to figure out, but it'll take a long time to figure out. I don't even mind that. I can't really explain why, but I really… really care about him. Even more than caring for him as a friend."
"You do?" someone spoke up, farther away from the two.
Will and Patricia turned to see Nico blushing curiously near them. Will immediately started to blush in embarrassment and looked at Nico. The goddess grinned at the two's embarrassment. Percy and Jason were hiding behind Ms. O'Leary with duel grins on their faces. The Aphrodite cabin was spying the interaction from afar and was giggling as quietly as they could. Everyone else was trying to do what they were supposed to do but were sneaking excited glances towards them.
" It's fairly obvious you two have an attraction to each other," Patricia chuckled. "Everyone back on Olympus is raving about you two. They even started a godly fan club for you two!"
Will looked at her in surprised. "What? The gods?"
" Aphrodite went up to me personally to explain it!" Patricia confirmed. " I came here to make sure it was true."
Suddenly, it clicked in Nico's head. "Are you a goddess?"
" Of course, but my title still stands."
A flash of bright light engulfed Patricia, her form shifted to reveal she was of a taller stature. A fragrance of flowers swept through the whole camp. When the light receded, there stood Persephone in all her glory.
She gave Nico an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry for butting into your love life, but I truly believe you deserve someone that can care for you. Will Solace, right here, seems to be a perfect match for you."
" OMG PERSEPHONE! NOOOOOOOO!" someone yelled from above.
