Chapter 10: Bonds
"You're telling me you don't know any magic whatsoever..."
Sasuke simply nodded his head, leaving a dumbstruck Ur in his wake; she blinked a few times unable to comprehend the simplicity of the statement, Sasuke however remained calm awaiting her reaction, he presumed it would be a comical one but it never came, it was instead replaced by a question.
"Then what did you do against Deliora?"
"Ninjutsu" was his simple answer, Ur stood in surprise once more looking down at the injured avenger.
"Ninjutsu?...wait, you're telling me you're a ninja?" she questioned, sceptical at his answer.
The avenger once again nodded his head leaving Ur in a state of shock once more, she placed a hand on her forehead and closed her eyes in frustration "Tell me why again I decided to help you?"
"..."
He didn't answer rather drew blanks at her, Ur remained in silence expecting him to at least say something that would justify him needing her help; another minute passed and a small twitch appeared on her forehead
"Talk! don't just sit there!" Ur shouted, now seemingly agitated with the shinobi in front of him.
"..."
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?" she questioned, her voice glistening with hints of rage. "Alright...here's another question, what was that thing you called out? that purple giant and those black flames?!" she asked once more and Sasuke moved to answer.
"It's a power granted by my eyes." Sasuke answered, his voice calm and composed.
"Your eyes? what about your eyes? I don't see anything specia-" her voice died down as Sasuke's coal black eyes warped into his sharingan and then again warped into a six pointed star, his mangekyou sharingan, for a moment, Ur stood speechless and drew blanks; Sasuke took the time to slowly warp his eyes slowly into his coal black ones much to Ur's surprise.
"What the hell did I get myself into?" she murmured, rubbing her forehead from frustration "Alright..." she began, "from what I know...ninjutsu or whatever you call it doesn't exist here; the only thing that does is magic.
Sasuke remained silent as he took in the information, so that's why he had seen strange incantations and different colour circles forming when he was assaulted, not just that none of them had even identified his sharingan. He looked to her and questioned.
"Is it possible for me to learn?" he questioned her.
"Possibly...this 'ninjutsu' you used, what elements did you normally use? do you ninja's even use elements like ice or fire?" she threw a question right back at him.
"Fire and...lightning" he answered, Ur closed her eyes in thought and folded her arms over her chest going into deep thought, she let out an audible sigh and opened her eyes "You're outta luck, my speciality is ice...if you're feeling up to it; try doing this..."
Sasuke blinked as Ur stretched out her right hand in front of him with an open palm and then closed it; he watched as a blue magic circle appeared before her hand and in an instant; the air pressure around her shifted and she opened her palm leaving an ice sculpture of his clan's symbol. He blinked as he looked to her.
"Surprised?" she questioned out in amusement "I saw it on your shirt..." and then it dissipated leaving Ur to fold her hands over her chest once more, a mischievous smile on her face.
"Tch...don't do that again" Sasuke grunted, he was seemingly irritated with the woman for showing off his clan symbol. Ur just smirked at him and then began to speak once more "Try it...whatever element you used, you gathered up energy to it right?...try gathering the energy to your hand and see what element pops up..."
"Draw chakra to my hand...huh?" he thought out, and then proceeded to do as the woman had instructed, she watched and then blinked as two circles popped up one with an orange and red circle..."that's fire..." Ur deduced, another one popped up which was yellow "That's lightning...alright-wait..."
Sasuke raised his left hand and then sent chakra to his left hand and Ur's eyes widened as a purple circle appeared "Purple flare?!" she thought out in surprise but Sasuke wasn't done yet as another circle appeared, a white one...and much to her surprise, her feet began to leave the ground.
"What the!?" she questioned out in surprise, Sasuke's eyes remained close not letting her shout disturb him. "Gravity magic!? this guy...he can use four of them!? no...he said he already knew how to use fire and lightning; then" her eyes widened in surprise and realisation, her jet black eyes levelling him with a gaze "purple flare and gravity...must have been activated once he entered Earthland...but more importantly..."
"Sasuke! put me down!" she shouted out in annoyance "stop showing off!"
Sasuke's eyes slowly opened to see Ur in front of him levitating, "Heh..." it amused him as he looked to both his right and left hands "so...this is magic huh?"
"Are you listening to me!? you better put me down right now!"'
Her shouting had caused Erza, Gray and Lyon to burst into the room "Ur!? what happened!?" Gray shouted followed by Lyon. Erza blanched in surprise to see Sasuke making Ur float in front of him.
"Ur-san?!" she questioned out in surprise.
"What the hell!? put her down!" Lyon shouted out in irritation.
"Sasuke! you better put me down right now before I beat you senseless again!" Ur threathened him once more as a sweat drop rolled down both Gray and Lyon's head "This guy...he's not scared of Ur at all!..." Lyon thought out in amazement.
"He's playing with her...to think what Ur said was right, she's just one of the strongest...damn it, I need to get stronger" Gray's thoughts grew rampart as he clenched his fist.
"Nii-san...just how strong are you?" Erza looked on as Sasuke then stopped the flow of chakra to his hands, Ur caught herself as she landed on the wooden floor once more, she let out an audible sigh as she looked to Sasuke, he blinked as he was then hit on the head by said woman.
"Gah...tch!" He grunted as he placed a hand on his forehead and glared at the woman, it was surprising to him; someone had actually dared hit him. Ur tightened her fist as she looked down at him, she appeared menacing and for some reason, Sasuke felt..."scared?...why am I scared of her?! I could kill her if I wanted too then...why?"
She let out an audible sigh and then looked to the three children to her right "Didn't I tell you to go into town and get some food?"
"We were...but then we heard you shouting so we came back" Lyon answered, Sasuke watched as Ur walked up to Gray and Lyon and knelt down to their level "Aww...my cute students were worried about me, I'm touched"
"Tch! stop babying us!" Gray shouted and then stormed out of the room leaving the four occupants surprised. Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he watched Gray leave the room leaving Ur to ponder on what Gray had just said, Erza however walked up to Sasuke in a questioning gaze "Nii-san, can you teach me that?"
Sasuke just looked to her curious gaze "In time Erza, there's something else I want to teach you" he answered.
"Really?!" an enthusiastic smile played out on her face, Ur however cut the conversation shot as she came to the young girl "Erza...could you and Lyon go after Gray? I guess he's feeling a little down..."
"Down?" both Lyon and Erza questioned her at the same time.
"Yeah...so could you guys go look for him?" Ur asked, smiling at the two of them, Erza slowly looked to Sasuke who gazed at her "Go find him, Erza..."
"Alright, Nii-san!" she chirped and walked past Lyon who in turn looked back to both Ur and Sasuke "You two haven't finished talking yet?.." which prompted Ur to look at her young student and release an audible sigh "No, not yet...there's some more things we need to discuss so go find Gray and bring him back here, alright? he wouldn't have gone far.."
"You're not sending us away so that you can kiss him, are you?" Lyon questioned.
"..."
Silence reigned between them as Ur beamed a sweet smile at him, and in the next instant "Hey! waiit! Ur! what are you doing!? no no! wait! I'm sorry! no!" Lyon shouted and then opened the window adjacent to her throwing her student out of it leaving Sasuke to draw blanks, she turned to him once more
"You use your magic on me once more and I'll do the same thing I did to him" Ur threatened, a small sweat drop ran down the back of Sasuke's head as he shrugged it off and called her out on her bluff
"Hmph...try it"
"Later...first we need to talk about what kind of magic you used" She answered, drawing up a chair, she crossed her legs and sat in front of him intent on explaining to him what he had just exhibited.
"First...the purple flare, it's a variation of fire magic; truth be told...this is the first time I'm actually seeing it, it can't be extinguished by either water or wind.." she stated, Sasuke's eyes lit up in surprise "Something like amaterasu then...it must have been formed from that."
"And the second, gravity magic...levitating objects and adding pressure onto them, too much and it can break a person's body..too less and they'll float...the only two spells I've heard for them are 'rise' and 'fall'..." she explained and Sasuke took in the explanation intently, his eyes went and looked to his arms and he closed his eyes, Ur watched in surprise as his sharingan came online.
"So...what's with those eyes? what's it called?" she questioned, curiosity etched into voice.
"Sharingan..." Sasuke answered, without looking up at her; his eyes widened ever so slightly "My chakra?...it's changed." and it had, his right hand consisted of blue chakra and his left hand consisted of yellow chakra, the same color that he had seen on every person he had come across in the area.
"Sharingan huh?...and what does it do?" she asked once more. Sasuke snapped out of his gaze and then looked to her "Steals my sight away..." and immediately Ur's eyes widened in surprised "You mean to tell me...you're going blind?!"
"I almost have.." he answered, calmly.
"How on earth are you so calm about this!?" Ur questioned, concern laced in her voice "Isn't there some way to stop it?"
He nodded his head and he placed his right hand on his lap with an open palm, Ur watched as his left hand went to his right armband and then
*POOF*
She watched in surprise as a container popped up in his right hand, two eyes laid inside them and she looked up to meet Sasuke's gaze once more "Whose eyes are those?"
"My brother's" he answered and then in an instant, the container disappeared leaving Ur and him in silence once more.
"So..." she began, "you implant those eyes and your sight gets better? you won't lose it any more?"
Sasuke nodded his head as he looked to the woman in front of him who just chuckled confusing the avenger "Hah...what an easy fix, alright, and what do you plan on doing about Erza?"
"She said she wanted to go to a place called Fairy tail"
Ur's eyes widened and a small smile graced her lips "Fairy tail huh? and what about you? you going to join up with her as well?"
"No...there must be a way back, I intend to find it" he answered, his gaze growing determined and fierce.
"And if you don't?" Ur questioned, seriousness etched into her voice.
"..." Sasuke didn't waver and neither did he have answer to her question much to his dismay.
"No answer huh? figures..." mumbled Ur "Assuming you do find a way back, you're going to abandon her at fairy tail?"
"If it's necessary" He answered "My path is covered in darkness, I don't want her following me; she doesn't deserve that."
"Darkness huh?" Ur questioned, and then she looked straight at him "You leaving her alone and abandoning her isn't a great idea either, so why don't you walk back from the path that you're on...you care for her that much, don't you?"
"I can't" Sasuke answered, his eyes looking away from the revered ice mage. "This isn't something that you can understand."
"Can't? or won't Sasuke? there's always a way back, for you it looks like Erza is that way back; don't be consumned by revenge, it won't end well for you..." she explained in concern, Sasuke had heard this speech before, it was from Kakashi; it annoyed him.
"She's better off without me" he whispered, looking away from her.
"She's not...she thinks the world of you because you saved her and if you abandon her, I guarantee she'll spend the rest of her life looking for you even if it kills her" Ur stated, the statment had caught him off guard as dread covered him, he didn't want that for Erza, he didn't want another life to be ruined because of him.
"Then what should I do?" he asked, now hoping for some sort of answer.
"That's not up to me to decide, find your own answer"
The answer annoyed Sasuke but much to his disapproval, she was right; he needed to find out how he could take care of Erza, his musings were cut short as Ur's voice called out to him "Anyway...enough of that, your brother's eyes...you need to implant them or you can forget about your path or taking care of Erza"
"..." He drew blanks and slowly let out an audible sigh, Ur was right, he had to relinquish his pride; he wanted to see something different so he wanted to keep his brother's eyes away from him but now...he needed it and slowly raised his head up to meet her.
"Do you know someone?"
"I can do it myself"
He blanked out "..." and silence reigned between them, he was sure this woman couldn't and Ur read his thoughts "What? you think I can't?"
"No"
A direct truthful answer, one that Ur grew agitated at "I took care of your wounds, didn't I?!"
"..."
Again, she was met with silence and she grew even more irritated "Fine, I know a doctor...I'll call him here..."
"Can he be trusted?"
"I'll be with you when he does it so calm down" Ur answered, annoyance etched into her voice.
"Why are you helping me?" he questioned out, his curiosity finally getting the better of him.
Ur just turned away from him "Don't get the wrong idea, you saved me and my students...this is just a debt I want to repay, if you didn't save me...I'm pretty sure I'd have to leave both of them alone" she explained and Sasuke remained silent, his gaze now on the window to the left.
"Alone huh?...Erza..."
With Erza...
Erza drew short breaths and her lone eye searched for the young boy, the first impression she had gathered from the young boy was that he was rude, but then again...she didn't mingle with him or the white haired boy at Ur's house. She walked a few metres ahead and then stopped as a voice shattered her concentration.
"Damn it!..."
She blinked, she knew whose voice that was; immediately she moved searching for the source of the voice, behind a snow covered rock; she watched as Gray bowed down his head in shame, his fist injured from hitting the rock besides him.
"That guy beat Deliora like it was nothing! I was supposed to take it down!...I've been wasting time with Ur, I didn't learn anything powerful" Gray complained, his fist tightening as he fell to his knees, tears beginning to form at his eyes. Erza watched from behind the rock and looked on silently observing the raven haired boy.
"I-I need to get stronger...and then I'll surpass that Sasuke guy" Gray stated, he looked to the blue sky above him "So this is how Lyon felt about surpassing Ur huh?...and I even made Ur lose her leg, I'm the worst..."
Footsteps caught his attention as he blinked and looked to the rock beside him; he was momentarily surprised as Erza came up to him, her lone eye glaring at him "You...what do you want?"
"Ur-san sent me to find you..." she answered, her glare not dying down.
"Leave me alone...one eye" Gray mocked and Erza's glare intensified as Gray slowly raised himself to his feet and returned the glare, sparks flew between the two as they both levelled each other with a glare but it was interrupted as Erza blinked.
"Why are you removing your clothes?" she questioned, curiosity etched into her features.
"Huh?" Gray blinked, as he looked down to see himself only in his underwear, "Ah! not again! this is all that stupid woman's fault! gah!"
"..." Erza remained silent as she watched him frantically yell and prance around in anger, her lips twirled upwards as a small smile graced her lips and she let out a low chuckle, on hearing her laugh, Gray blinked...now once again fully clothed,
"What are you laughing at?!" he questioned out in comical anger.
"Nothing..." she answered, as her laughter slowly died down, he looked away from her seated down on the snow "Tch..." and then looked to the sky above him once more.
"Ur-san is waiting for you" Erza began once again.
"I'm not going back..." he whispered and Erza's lone eye widened in surprise "W-Why?"
"I don't have to tell you anything, hmph!" Gray answered, folding his arms over his chest; his eyes closing. Erza remained speechless for a moment and then answered "I see."
"Wait! What?!" Gray shouted, much to his dismay, Erza had caught the collar of his shirt and then proceeded to drag him back to Ur's house, he tired to break free of her grip but to no avail "Let me go! let me go!"
Erza paid him no mind and continued to drag him back with an irong grip "kah! this girl is so strong! what kind of training did she do!?" Finally, in a desperate attempt; he slipped out of his shirt and rolled away from her, Erza looked back and looked at him as he gritted his teeth.
"Didn't you hear what I said? I'm not going back!" He shouted at her, she tilted her head to the left and then placed a hand on her hip, silence reigning between the two and then she spoke "You are going back."
"Shut up! what do you know!?" He shouted out in anger.
"Then how about this?" Erza began, her tone calm and composed; he looked up to her locking gazes with her "If I beat you, you have to go back...if you beat me, you can do what you want"
Gray blinked and a small smirk appeared on his face "Alright...I'm not holding back! no way, I'm letting a girl beat me!" Erza folded her arms over her chest as she waited for Gray to make the first move, the latter who in turn grew agitated and then charged right at her, a fist aimed for her face.
Erza didn't move but in an instant, her own fist met his face sending him crashing to the snow laden ground below him, she blinked "Done in one blow?"
"Ah..uh...ah..." Gray murmured, now seemingly unconscious. Erza blinked and then looked to her right fist "I didn't hit him that hard, did I?" now seemingly concerned about the boy's well being, she knelt down next to him and shook him from his paralysed state, he rubbed the back of his head as he sat up straight and looked to her.
"Damn it...that hurt" he complained as he slowly looked to the scarlet haired girl besides him. "Beaten by a girl...what a monster"
"I'm sorry...I didn't know that I had that much strength" she answered, seemingly stricken by the power at her disposal, Gray just looked to her and his shoulders drooped down and he whimpered "Guess...you beat me"
"Why don't you want to go back?" Erza questioned, her voice now full of curiosity.
"I...how can I?...your brother beat Deliora, I was supposed to do that...and then Ur got hurt because of me and she lost her leg" he whispered and then his head bowed in shame "tell me how can I ever go back?"
Erza didn't answer rather remained silent as Gray continued on his rant, he clutched both his fists and looked down to the snow below him "I'm...so w-weak!" he shouted and then Erza's voice pierced through his sadness.
"Then...get stronger"
"What?" Gray blinked, his eyes widening at the sudden answer, he looked to her once more "What did you just say?"
Erza shrugged her shoulders "Get stronger, that's what my brother told me when I told him that I was weak."
"You?" Gray blinked, and then chuckled "Weak?...you just beat me in one blow!" he exclaimed, a small smile gracing his lips which was returned by the scarlet haired girl "Just like you...even I want to get stronger because there's something I have to do...and I want to surpass my brother too"
"I have a feeling" Gray began, smirking "that you will"
"Thanks for the support" she smiled and looked away from him "but I still have a long way to go."
"Heh..." Gray chuckled, he watched as Erza slowly stood up and offered him a hand "Let's go back, Ur-san is waiting for you" he took it and slowly arose to his feet, wiping his clothes of the snow that had covered him and then looked to her
"What's your name?"
"Erza...Scarlet" she answered. "Erza huh? that's a nice name..." Gray thought out and then offered his own with a grin and a thumb pointed at himself.
"I'm Gray, Gray Fullbuster..."
With Sasuke and Ur...
"You said you had a daughter" Sasuke's cold voice reached her ears and Ur glanced back at him; he had felt the shift in the atmosphere, there was a deep pressure, She folded her hands over her chest and looked to him.
"I did..." Ur answered, "why the sudden interest?"
"How did she die?" Sasuke questioned, his eyes narrowing at the woman in front of him.
"She...had too much magical power, caused her to have a fever, I took her to the doctors so that she could get treated; they said she died and her body was too damaged to even look at.." she explained.
"And you believed them?" Sasuke asked, his tone mocking her, he blinked as Ur snapped; anger blazing in her eyes. "No! I didn't!...but they wouldn't let me see her body! what was I supposed to do huh!?-what?! " she shouted at him and then she stopped almost immediately as Sasuke's coal black eyes transitioned into the sharingan.
"What are you doing?" Ur questioned, before she was then covered in blackness, a moment passed and she found herself in a room with a throne covered in dust with a small hole of light beaming from the roof, "Where...is this?" and then she blinked as images appeared in front of her and voice played out.
Sasuke appeared in front of her first, his back turned to her; his clothes rustled in dust and blood and an older man in front of him glaring down upon the avenger.
"Sasuke?" questioned out a surprised Ur.
"Are you the one who's controlling that boy?"
"My, my...so disrespectful, but to answer your question...no, it is my subordinate" he answered, he moved to the side and Sasuke threw cautious glances, the crystal ball at the end of the room lit up and Sasuke saw the image of a young girl with dark purple hair, her age no older than Erza looking at him
"T-that's...Ultear?!" Ur questioned out, now shocked and speechless, a ghost out of the past; it began to haunt her as she stepped back in surprise.
"Oh?...so you came back."
He blinked "That voice...it was the same one I heard before I left this place" his black eyes narrowed and he didn't answer.
"You're not very talkative, huh?..." the girl questioned, Sasuke remained silent as he glanced to the old man a few metres away from him and then back to the girl "I'll tell you this once: stop manipulating him"
"Wow, so you do talk, hmm...can't do that, you see; well I'll just let master Hades explain it to you, later"
"No! wait! Ultear?! come back!" she shouted "Don't go!" and then the illusion died before her leaving her to taste despair and she knelt down panting hard; her right hand clutching her face. Sasuke had appeared before her once more, the illusion now shattered; he clutched his left eye in pain now reeling in from the pain using the sharingan.
"Nngh..." he grunted and looked away from her, a small amount of sweat pouring down from his face, panting he looked slowly to Ur who now stood up, glaring at him; in an instant, an ice sword was at his neck, his back hit the bed as Ur was now ontop of him, glaring down at him menacingly.
"What the hell did you just do!?" She shouted, anger and despair etched into her voice. "You better tell me what that was right now before I kill you!"
"..."
AN: OOOOO...Sasuke's in trouble now! :O
