Chapter 13: Departure

"Is that enough?"

Ur's voice echoed in the small room she stood idle in, her arms crossed over her chest and her left leg slightly bent back giving her foot the leverage to use the corridor to support her frame, her question bounced around the wall and then back to the young man who stood in front of her, his back bent and his legs kneeling as he scrummaged through the accessories that laid sprawled out on the floor before him, he didn't answer rather just spared her a glance and then looked back to a the small backpack in front of him; Ur grew miffed but didn't say anything..she knew he would respond in time and he did.

"It has to be..."

A small smirk placed itself on Ur's face as she watched the back of the young aveneger, his cryptic and no nonsense way of talking was a welcome refreshment since she barely interacted with anyone besides the people in town and her two students, she was obviously annoyed by his attitude and she still couldn't believe that this young boy in front of her was from another world, one which harboured ninja's, ironically ninja's were a fairy tale for the mages here and the vice versa for Sasuke. She watched as he wore his akatsuki cloak, his wounds were almost healed and his eyes could now see, he could feel the power flowing into him but he didn't want to demonstrate it; there would be time enough to test his new eyes later. He winced as he tried to place his right arm into the inside of his coat, Ur hadn't let it gone amiss and she let out a sigh, pushing herself off the wall she closed the distance between them

"Here..." she murmured.

He blinked as the coat was pulled from him creating a small space to push his arm into, he stayed motionless for a few seconds looking to Ur, whose face grew annoyed

"Well? what are you waiting for? put your arm into the coat"

"Hmph..." he grunted and slowly placed his arm into the coat, now fully dawning his akatsuki cloak, Ur adjusted the front of his coat much to his dismay, he didn't look at her rather to the window outside, once she was done; she murmured with glee "there..." he looked at her, saying "thank you" wasn't part of his vocabulary so he did the next best thing, he walked past her and picked up his bag and then walked to the door before him but stopped, Ur blinked as she saw his back turned to her and his head slightly tilted to her direction.

"When I find your daughter, I'll bring her here..."

And before she could respond, he was out of the door. She stood there motionless and speechless for a good thirty seconds, she clenched her fist and looked down to the floor below her "Stubborn...brat" she murmured, she stayed there contemplating her thoughts regarding the matter and the discussion she had with him.

"She's my daughter! you expect me to sit here and watch while she's being manipulated and used huh!? I was lied too! get that through your thick skull!"

Sasuke's cold gaze met hers; her rage had blinded her making her spout emotional lines worth of dribble, he was once in the same position and so he contemplated his words carefully "So you want to look for then?"

"Of course I do!"

"You want to abandon your students?" he interjected, cold and calm and it struck her, she clenched her right fist and placed her left palm on her chest "I c-can take them with m-me!" she argued.

"They would be sitting targets" he answered and she knew he was right but her stubbornness as a mother wouldn't be held captive "I'll find another way then! it's none of your business"

"And what other way is there? hmph" he added, amusement dancing in his voice.

"Tch, I-I..." she began, stuttering as she looked away from him "I don't know..."

Sasuke remained silent waiting for her to speak, to continue her silly line of stubbornness but it never came, what came however was the glare of an angry mother who looked to him "and what d-do you think you can do about it"

"I can find her" he stated.

In Ur's perspective the way he said it was arrogance to the highest degree, it was as if he knew he would find her when she, the mother couldn't, that confidence annoyed her; made her question her abilities and yet to some degree she knew it was the truth, she knew that Sasuke could find him but doubt plagued her mind, how could he? he was a newborn in this world; he didn't know where to look nor where to ask and then it hit her.

"And Erza?" she questioned "you want to abandon her?"

"She wants to go to fairy tail and that's where I'll take her" he answered, calm and precise. "Once that's done..." he paused, he himself didn't know what he would do next and so the opportunity had presented himself, it was a good excuse to see this new world himself; he continued

"I'll find your daughter..."

"I...Erza...won't-" Ur pressed, finding anything to stop him from taking the responsibility was her dire goal at the moment but Sasuke cut her off.

"She's strong..." Sasuke stated and his tone became harsher as he then glanced to Ur "the same can't be said for..." she watched as his eyes turned to the small door near the corridor "them..."

Gray and Leon stood crouching near the door; eager to hear their discussion, once caught; they ran as fast as they could for Ur's gaze screamed murder at them, calming herself, she looked back to him and spoke

"You could be looking for a very long time..."

"I have the time" he answered smoothly and Ur grew miffed at him "you don't even know where to start looking-..." and all she got was an answer was a small smirk that told her that he knew exactly where.

"There's something..." she began, her voice curious yet accusing at the same time "you're not telling me..."

And all she got in reply was a blank stare, she couldn't read it and before she could further prod the answer out of him, the cry of a young girl shattered their attention

"Sasuke-nii!"

Ur glanced back to Sasuke who sat comfortably sit but if one looked a bit closer, they could see a small smile playing out on his face

"Hmph...cheeky brat, I'll let you off the hook this time" and then she proceeded to exit the room leaving an amused Sasuke in her wake.

Now that she looked back on it, all she had given him was a picture of Ur when she was a baby and she had never received any answer on how he would find her and yet...she somehow believed that he would, she walked out of the door and into the main hall, all that she could see was Erza bidding her farewell to her two students.

"I hope we'll see each other soon..." she said, trying her hardest to be happy.

"Yeah! once I'm done with my training with Ur, I think I'll come to Fairy tail too!" Gray chipped in, a grin showcasing itself on his face, Ur smirked; she hadn't seen Gray smile a big grin in a long time

"Fairy tail huh?...I think I'll just stay here with Ur-ouch!"

"And mooch off of me forever?" Ur barged in, a fist landed itself right on Leon's head much to his dismay and as she removed it from his head, she let out a sigh "One day, Leon...you're going to leave as well, I don't want you cooped up here...I want you to go out and see the world, there are people who are way more stronger than I am...and there's still more you have to learn."

"Ah come on, Ur..." Leon began, massaging his head hoping to ease the pain and make it vanish, he opened one eye and looked at her "there's no one stronger than you!-"

And before Ur could retaliate; Erza's voice chirped and she made clear her statement "That's not true!" she shouted, outside Sasuke blinked as he heard Erza shout and he simply kept silent at the next statement "Sasuke-nii is way stronger than Ur-san!"

"No he's not!" Leon argued.

"Yes he is!" Erza countered.

"No he's not!"

"Yes he is!"

"No he's-agh!"

Another punch to his head and the argument silenced itself and Leon knelt down rubbing the back of his head in pain, Ur let out a small sigh and then looked to Leon "As much as I hate to say it, Leon...she's right" and then before Leon could react to the statement, Ur looked to Erza placing a hand on her head, she patted it and with a smile looked to her.

"Take care of yourself, Erza...and make sure to take care of your brother as well" she said, a sincere smile etched onto her face, Erza nodded and a small smile played out on her face as well. "I will!"

Ur stroked Erza's hair a bit more and then proceeded to walk outside leaving Erza, Leon and Gray alone once more, outside Sasuke stood in the cold; it was snowing and flakes of the white crystal rested on his coat comfortably; Ur placed her arms into her brown jacket and then looked to him.

"You could've waited inside..."

"Hn" he grunted much to Ur's annoyance, she walked up to him and then stood to his right "So, where's the first place you're headed?"

"Rosemary village...or whatever is left of it" he answered, crisp and clean, not a beat passed as silence encompassed the two of them once more "I see..." she answered, "and what do you expect to find there?"

"I don't know..." he answered and Ur looked at him incredulous, she raised her right eyebrow in a questioning glance "Then why are you going there anyway? you can head straight to Magnolia town right?"

Sasuke grew miffed at the woman, she asked too many questions much to his dismay; the truth of the matter was that Sasuke was hoping to find someone who had survived the destruction of the village and hopefully someone who knew Erza, it was something that he hoped for...and hope was a term that was foreign to him.

"Not gonna answer huh?" Ur questioned once more and she was met by silence once again, she let out a deep sigh and without warning, she began "Well whatever you're going to do..." she stepped to his side, her face turned towards his left half.

And before Sasuke could comprehend what had happened, warm wet lips struck his left cheek, it was but for an instant as she pulled it away leaving a surprised Sasuke in his wake and a whisper eroded his ear "Stay safe, alright?" and before he could respond, she turned around and walked away from him.

He looked back and all he saw was Ur leaving and Erza entering the snowy wasteland with a smile and he preferred that, she hadn't seen what had happened, he looked away and waited as the scarlet haired girl came up to him, looking at him, she smiled.

"Ready?" he asked

"Uh huh!" she nodded and without another glance to the people behind them, they began their long journey to whatever awaited them.

Back at the cottage, Ur watched from her window as the two figures that had entered her life dissapeared slowly and faded into the snowy wasteland before her, she let out a sigh and looked to the skies above

"Ultear..." she whispered "please be safe..."

Both Sasuke and Erza had covered a large distance from whence they first set out, and much to Sauske's surprise; Erza was keeping up with him every step of the way, it would seem that training was paying off, he snuck glances at her as she followed behind him and at even the slightest hint of slowing down, he did as well matching his pace with hers, all that however came to a fault as a scream echoed across the valley; both Sasuke and Erza blinked in surprise to see a humongous pile of snow falling towards them, on instinct...Sasuke grabbed Erza by her small waist and hoisted her to his side and with his blinding speed, dissapeared with Erza in tow to the left. Erza blinked on seeing the huge pile of snow now on front of them and then back to Sasuke who slowly hoisted her down onto the snowy ground below them. Sasuke readied himself for any sign of aggression, the snow started to move...and he pulled Erza behind her, he glanced back to her once.

"Stay behind me..."

And she nodded her head, the snow rustled and out from it came a little girl with a white coat and a bllue scarf, the same age and height as Erza; she shook her head to rid herself of the flakes of snow and then looked to her black mittens "The snow saved me..." she muttered, relief bounced in her voice.

Sasuke slowly relaxed his stance and stood in silence as Erza moved away from his back and to his front, curiosity etched into her face. It took a few seconds before the girl in front of them gasped in surprise to see the two people in front of her, from her reaction...Sasuke mused, it was clear that she was afraid and suspicious so he stood in silence for he knew that Erza could goad information out of her.

"Are you hurt?" Erza called out and Sasuke watched the interaction in silence.

"Um...n-no..." the young girl replied, slowly warming up to her. "W-who are you?"

"I'm Erza and that's my brother, Sasuke!" she chirped; the young girl glanced behind Erza to find the raven haired Uchiha looking at her, she winced under his gaze...and Sasuke couldn't blame her, his appearance did not scream kindness and it was not welcoming either.

"What's your name?" Erza asked, kindness embedded in her voice

The young girl before them hesitated and a few seconds passed before she resigned herself and gave up her name "It's...Nano...Nano Leaf..." and before she could speak further or continue the conversation; three people of varying height appeared before them.

"There you are...you thought you could escape Nez-san" the tallest of the three spoke out, he wore an orang muffler with a blue coat, black pants and black shoes and a grin adorned his face. Nano slowly looked to them and hurried out of the snow encompassing her; stationning herself next to Erza. "I'm-" she stuttered. "I'm not going back!"

"It's not your choice to make, we're taking you back" the second of the three began "whether you like it or not...and-" his black eyes slowly set it's sight on Erza who glared at her in anger and disgust

"Oh...looks like Nez-san will be happy that we've found someone else to help us..." he finished, a sickening grin on his face. Erza's eyes filled bright red with rage as she looked on and she moved forward first, only to be stopped as Sasuke stepped in front of both Nano and her.

"Hm? who're you?" the tallest one began.

"..."

"Tough guy, huh? well let's see how tough you are when I make a dent in that face of yours!" and he moved with speed, Sasuke stood calm and focused in the next moment, a sickening screech could be heard as Sasuke twisted the man's hand and glared at him.

"L-Let go! m-my arm! it's g-gonna break!" he screamed out in agony.

Sasuke tightened the hold even more much to the man's dismay and another blood curdling scream tore through the area as the other two of his friends looked on, grtting their teeth and then looking to each other; they nodded their head and burst forward to strike at the avenger,

"Sasuke-nii!" Erza called out, in worry "Watch out!"

Sasuke grabbed the man in front of him, tripping him to his back and used his waist as a stepping stone with the leverage of being tripped and with a swift kick to his chin sent him flying towards the second of the three men effectively sending them both spiralling into the wall of snow that awaited them and all that remained was the last of them who looked to Sasuke in worry and despair.

The two girls behind Sasuke watched in awe as he executed his movements with finesse, taking them both down at the same time, Erza's looked on still in wonder, no matter how many times she had seen Sasuke dispatch his opponent, it never got too old for her, behind her...Nano watched in awe as well, looking as her attackers were sent to unconscious bliss.

"Wow..." she murmured.

Sasuke watched in silence as the third man then retreated leaving him alone with the two girls behind him, he slowly looked back as Erza came running up to him with a grin "Sasuke-nii!" she shouted with glee "That was amazing!"

"Hmph..." Sasuke grunted and the the two siblings looked to the girl infront of them who watched them in wonder and the next words that came out of Nano's mouth made Sasuke's headache.

"Could you...p-please take m-me back home?"
