Chapter Thirty-six: Repercussions

"'We stole Akainu's sake. SURPRISE!" It was so quiet on the Sunny that you could hear a pin drop. The silence was broken by Luffy busting out into laughter and pointing at the screen. Robin put a hand to her mouth and giggled. Nami was covering her eyes with one hand and shaking her head. Usopp, Chopper and Brook joined Luffy in the laughter. Sanji was blinking wide-eyed at the screen, cigarette forgotten. Franky was in the back, his jaw open and down to the floor. A twitch was by his eye, the only visible showing that he was trying to hold in his laughter. Ace had a fist raised to his hip and shaking uncontrollably while he gritted his teeth.

Zoro had lowered his head, a shadow covering his eyes. Nami was the first to notice the dangerous aura. "Are you okay Zoro?" she asked. The laughter died down as all turned to see what was going on with the swordsman.

"What's up with you moss-head?" Sanji asked. When that didn't illicit a reaction a few members of the crew started to get worried.

"Oi," Zoro spoke up finally. "Did I hear correctly when Rachel said that she stole Akainu's sake?"

"That's true," Robin agreed with a nod.

"That means that she was in the Marine Headquarters," Zoro continued. "The most dangerous place for all pirates to be sneaking into." His angry aura increased with the revelation. Usopp, Chopper, Brook and Nami all started to back away. Usopp and Brook were holding onto each other in fear while Nami was practically squeezing the life out of Chopper.

"I can't say I envy Rachel at the moment," Robin noted. "If Zoro is like this, one has to wonder what Tra-guy is like."

As if called by her sentence, the door to Sunny's galley slammed open and Law stood in the doorway. An evil aura permeating his entire being. "Why are you all just standing around?" he demanded. "We're heading after them."

"Do you actually know where they are?" Usopp dared ask. He cringed when Law sent him a glare.

"It's not that hard to figure out," Ace spoke up. "Anyone that's familiar with New World would recognize that particular bar. It just so happens that we can be there by morning."

Zoro turned to glare over at Franky. "I'm SUPER on it," Franky said. He rushed out of the galley and to the helm. Sanji rushed after, intent on raising anchor. No need to remind Zoro that he knew the girls were leaving.

~Rachel, Missy and Bortolomeo sat at a corner table in the bar. Of course, after their blatant challenge to the marines, the more shady customers of the bar started congratulating them and offering the girls drinks. Neither one accepted the drinks, suspecting that some of the men were trying to buy their affections. It was a common practice, accept a drink from a guy and they expected you to sleep with them. Not going to happen. They almost wished that Zoro and Law had come with them to keep the creeps off of them. However, they also knew that if the two men had known what was going to happen they wouldn't have let the two women sneak into the Marine HQ in the first place. Some of the men wouldn't take 'no' for an answer though. One of the more burly customers of the bar invited himself to sit next to Missy and put his arm around her shoulders. "You should remove your hand before you loose it," Missy said.

The man laughed over loudly. "Wus a lil mouse like you gonna do?" he challenged.

"I won't do a thing," Missy said. "I'm not the one you should worry about." Missy then gestured in Rachel's direction. The man looked towards where she pointed only to find himself staring down the barrel of a gun. As a demonstration of how serious she was, Rachel pulled back on the hammer. The man gulped and immediately ran out of the bar, he had felt the killing intent from the woman with the gun.

"Thanks for that Rae," Missy said.

"It's not a problem," Rachel responded. She put the gun on the table and looked around the bar, daring anyone else to try that. "We are friends after all. You laugh, I laugh. You cry, I cry. You jump off a bridge I get in BB to save your retarded ass." (Been wanting to use that one :D) Bortolomeo started laughing roarously.

"I just knew you were going to say something like that," Missy groaned. Bortolomeo was still laughing at this point.

"How dare you two?!" The yell caused both women to look up. Shanks was storming up to them at this point. "You have the gall to steal the Fleet Admiral of the Marines sake and not invite me? That hurts you two, that really hurts." Shanks made a show of putting a hand over his heart.

"That's what you're worried about?" Rachel asked. "You couldn't be worried about our bounties being raised or something?"

"You're such a drama queen," Missy monotoned.

"I'm a what?" Shanks straightened and blinked at them.

"Nevermind," both girls said.

Shanks shrugged and started looking around the bar. "So where are Luffy and the others?" he asked.

"We sort of left them," Missy said. She started to shrink a little in her chair.

"And not tell them where we were going or what we were doing," Rachel finished. She was taking a sip of her water, unashamed.

Ben, coming up behind Shanks, started laughing. "I'm sure that both of your guys are just loving that," he teased.

"That's not important right now," Shanks said. "I'm curious what you two think you're doing? You have stolen sake at your fingertips and you're drinking water?"

"Again, that's what your worried about?" Missy asked this time.

"Take a look around Shanks," Rachel suggested. "This place is filled with drunken sailors, pirates and other suspect men. Do you honestly think that we'd let down our guard and get drunk? There is no way in God's Green Earth I would do that."

"Ditto."

Shanks grunted as he took a seat at the table. He looked around the bar, sending out his infamous glare. Once he was satisfied that no one would bother any of them he turned back around. "You're safe now," he smiled. "You can get as much sake as you want now."

"Gee thanks," Missy said sarcastically. She then leaned over to Rachel. "Doesn't he realize we hate the stuff?" she asked in a whisper.

"Don't you dare say a word," Rachel returned. "He just got the creepies off of us. The least we can do is smile and nod. Just smile and nod."

~The following morning the crew on the Sunny and sub could see the island fast approaching. "Does anyone else realize that those two are just going to run at the sight of Zoro and Law?" Sanji asked. "Their faces don't exactly look all that approachable right now."

"That could be a problem," Robin agreed.

"You two better not hurt my sisters," Ace threatened.

"Nami-ya," Law called out.

"Yes?"

"Can use that Mirage technique and hide both of our ships?" Nami nodded and got to work on that. She didn't want to face the wrath of the Doctor of Death or of a man that's described as a demon more often than not. Sure she'll argue and make her point known, but in this situation they were down right scary.

~ At the island port the girls were starting the Nunya and leaving. Bortolomeo was with them, still awed by the fact the ship moved without sails. Shanks and his crew weren't too far behind them. The morning had a slight chill in the air and there was a fog lingering.

"Why do I get the feeling that this isn't going to be a good day?" Missy asked.

"You're getting the heeby jeebies too?" Rachel asked. Both girls shuddered at the same time. "Next thing you know you'll see King Crab climbing buildings."

"Are you ever going to shut up with the crabs?" Missy was glaring at Rachel at this point, fist raised and ready to bring down on her head.

"Don't hate the crabs man," Rachel teased. "They forewarn us of danger."

"Forewarn this shit," Missy brought her hand down. Rachel bolted and slid down the ladder, out of the bridge. Missy was hot on her heels. The two started running around on the deck.

"Hey chicken man," Shanks called from his ship. Bortolormeo was dodging the running females, barely coming out of it intact. "You might want to jump over here. You look like you're having a bit of a problem there." Without any further advise, Bortolomeo leapt over the gap between the two ships. He turned back and stared at the deck of the Nunya in stunned silence. "Don't look so surprised," Shanks smiled. "This happens all the time."

"But they're friends, nakama." Bortolomeo tried to grasp the situation.

"And they're always trying to kill each other," Yasopp grinned.

Shanks and his crew watched the two women running around in amusement. Rachel suddenly stopped with a jerk, the air leaving her lungs like she ran into something. Missy reacted in the same way. "Now that's interesting," Ben said. He had an eyebrow raised in question. "That's never happened before."

The air around the ships grew hazy. Out of thin air Zoro and Law appeared. Zoro in front of Rachel and Law in front of Missy. "Now this just got really interesting," Shanks smirked.

Both girls looked up at their respective guy. In unintentional unison, "Ah shit."

Rachel went to take a step back, before she got very far Zoro's arms snapped around her like the steel bands she once described them as. Missy also tried to back up. Law raised his hand, the 'room' he makes at the ready. It was a silent warning that he would take away her option of running if she tried.

Luffy, Ace and the others soon joined them on the Nunya. "Where did all of you come from?" Bortolomeo asked. He had stars in his eyes, totally amazed at the entrance the Straw Hats made.

"It's called Mirage Tempo," Nami answered. She twirled her staff idley. Missy slapped a hand to her forehead. It was so obvious that they should have figured it out with the abnormal weather. The only thing Rachel could do was smack her forehead on the wall of Zoro's chest at this point.

"What were the two of you thinking?" Ace demanded. "You could have been caught by the Marines."

"But we weren't," Rachel pointed out. She felt the arms around her tighten. "Right, right, I'll be quiet."

"That was great you two," Luffy said with a grin. "Why didn't you tell me you were going to do that? It would have been great fun."

"Don't encourage them Luffy," Ace snapped. "This is a very serious situation." Ace then turned his attention to Shanks. "As for you, when exactly did you show up? Were you in on this?"

"I had nothing to do with it," Shanks appealed. He had his hand raised in appeasement. "I only got here last night after their announcement."

"Why are you here then?" Ace continued to question.

"Seriously Ace," Shanks looked at him in disappointment. "They announced that they had stolen sake." He then held up a jug he had gotten from the storage in the bar. "I have to say, this is some really good shit."

"Don't you start encouraging them either," Ace growled. He then focused his sight on Bortolomeo who shrunk under the gaze. "Tell me why, Bortolomeo, did you agree to do something so stupid?"

"Stupid?" Missy started.

"Hey now," Rachel finished. Both girls shrunk at the glares they were receiving from the men directly in front of them.

"I didn't know what they were doing," Bortolomeo said. "They said that they needed my help for something. I was told the only things I would be doing were guarding the ship and some sort of comedy act."

"Yeah, we caught that part," Sanji said. "Wasn't really all that funny."

"That's what we were going for," Missy said.

"Room," Law called. A translusent area surrounded them.

"Right," Missy shrunk further. "Silence."

"Now that we've got the situation under control," Robin broke in at this point. "I'm assuming that the two won't be pulling a stunt like this again any time soon." She stared at the two of them pointedly.

"Define anytime soon," Rachel said. She suddenly found herself thrown over Zoro's shoulder. He started to make his way towards the stairs of the Nunya.

"Where do you think you're going with my sister?" Ace demanded.

"The two of us need to have a little talk," Zoro answered without stopping.

"What kind of talk?" Usopp asked.

Zoro's silence was all that Ace needed to catch fire. "Oh hell no," he shouted. He got in front of Zoro at that point. "I'm not going to allow you to be with my sister in any room alone, you got that? Especially since the two of you aren't married."

"You go Ace," Rachel cheered. "Eeep!" A sting across her bottom caused her to cry out in surprise.

"You be quiet Rachel," Ace said. "You're still in trouble in my book."

"Luffy," Zoro called out.

"Huh?" Luffy responded as he tilted his head.

"You're the captain," Zoro pointed out. "Announce Rachel and I as married."

"Don't do it Lu..." Ace started.

"Zoro and Rachel are married," Luffy stated.

"SAY WHAT!?" Rachel shouted. She could see Missy in the background making an exagerated motion of zipping her mouth shut and throwing away the key.

Zoro smirked and started forward again. "I assume you won't object now." He walked past Ace and went below. Ace not moving at all due to shock.

"Well there's no arguing with that logic," Sanji tapped his cigarette. "Hey Luffy, say that Nami and I..."

"Not going to happen!" Nami's elbow slammed down on the top of Sanji's head.

Missy was blinking at the whole thing in shock. Just like that, Rachel had unwittingly gotten married. "That was rather anticlimatic," she whispered. The sound of footsteps drawing closer drew her attention. Missy snapped forward as Law started coming closer.

"I could just as easily do the same with you," Law informed. "It wouldn't be too hard to get Straw Hat-ya to announce us as married either."

"You wouldn't dare try that," Missy snapped.

Without either of them noticing Luffy had come up to them. "Missy and Tra-guy are married too," he announced. Missy's mouth dropped open in shock while Law smirked. She couldn't say anything about him trying it now. Straw Hat-ya had done it all on his own.

"I'm gonna kill em," Missy muttered. Using his ability, Law transported himself and Missy to his sub. The two of them also disappeared from sight.

"Well this sucks," Sanji said. "Do we have to wait for them before moving on or what?" Brook and Franky were in the background, crying waterfalls.

"Ben, break out the booze." Shanks jumped over to the Nunya as he gave the order.

"What's the occasion this time?" Ben asked.

"We just witnessed two weddings," Shanks said. "Obviously it calls for celebration and a lot of drinking."
