Chapter Thirty-seven: Nakama

After the stunt they pulled at the Marine Headquarters the manhunt for Rachel and Missy began in earnest. Akainu was furious that his own private office had been invaded. When the broadcast started he was in the middle of an important meeting with the three admirals. They were in the middle of discussing sending a fleet to deal with the uprising of Dressrosa when the broadcast monitor started. The four of them were stunned into silence. The emergency broadcast snail that was in Akainu's office had been turned on by someone.

They were surprised to see a pirate had taken over the broadcast. The horrible act that he was putting on had the four of them wanting to cover their ears. When the two women were announced to come onto the camera Akainu's eyes narrowed. The two of them telling the world that the marines had made a mistake in posting the wanted posters for them was unsettling. When they gave the message from Dragon, Akainu started to smoke. The straw that broke the camel's back was when the two announced that they had stolen his sake. They were disrespectful and obviously baiting the marines. Akainu was so angered by their actions that he melted the table in front of him. "I want the two of them found," he growled. "Now."

~A week passed since the girls played their 'little' prank against Akainu. Once Ace had gotten over his shock of what had happened between Zoro, Law and his sisters he was frustrated. He had to wait until the four of them had returned from the impromptu honeymoons. Once they had, Ace insisted that they had a formal wedding with all the pomp and ceremony.

The weddings were held on the Revolutionary Headquarters Island. At least there they were certain that no one would interrupt them. A broadcast snail had been projecting the event to the friends of the Straw Hat crew. Places like Alabasta, Water 7, Amazon Lily, the other locations the crew trained and Fishman Island. Luffy had insisted that they all be included since they were nakama in one way or another.

Now everyone was settling down in their respective ships. Ace, Zoro and Rachel were getting set up in the Nunya. Zoro had moved his things into Rachel's room. Missy's old room was converted into his workout room. The tools and blueprints that Missy used for her work were moved into an unused space on board Law's sub so Ace could do with the room whatever he wanted. Missy's things from her room were moved into Law's.

Now the members of the three ships were having their own, private celebration. Others were invited to join in on the fun. Dragon and Sabo from the Revolution. Shanks and his crew were also invited to join the party. The four ships were tied together so that people could go from one ship to another. Rachel and Missy were on the Nunya, celebrating with the core people of the ships.

Rachel was giving Missy a hard time. "So I have a question for you," Rachel started. "Would you say that you all live on a yellow submarine?"

"God damnit Rae!" No one could understand why Missy would get so upset over a simple question.

The two of them were mostly ignored by the others. Franky and Chopper were dancing on a table with chopsticks up their noses. Usopp was singing badly to 'Bink's Sake' while Brook played his guitar for it. Luffy was laughing and joking around with Shanks, Ace and Law. Although Law was more of a silent bystander than anything else. Zoro was having a drinking contest with Rockstar, one of Shanks crew. He still managed to keep an eye out on what was going on. Particularly what was going on around Rachel.

Law was suddenly distracted by Missy and Rachel when they came up next to him. "I have a gift for you," Missy announced. She held a card out to Law. "I made this just for you." Law looked on the card. In bold lettering it said, "Want to know how to keep an idiot entertained for five minutes? Turn card over." In curiosity, Law turned the card over to look at the other side. He didn't fail to notice the two women start snickering. The wording on the other side of the card said the same thing. Law turned the card over one last time to make sure he wasn't missing anything.

He looked up with a devilish smirk. "Hey Straw Hat-ya," he called. Luffy looked over at him, blinking. "This is for you." Law handed him the card and walked away. Rachel and Missy were holding each other up at this point. They were laughing so hard that their sides were hurting. Luffy took the card, read it and turned it over. He did this for several minutes. Nami, wondering what he was doing, took the card from him. She read it and then let out a big sigh. Robin had been looking over her shoulder, a fond smile on her face as she realized the trick that had been played.

"What was that for anyway?" Law asked Missy.

"That was my rated E revenge for messing with the sub's solar system," Missy said. "I was kind of hoping you wouldn't catch on that quick."

"Still turned out funny," Rachel pointed out. "We should have known he would have given the card to Luffy."

"What do you mean by rated E?" Law asked.

"It just means that it's a joke for everyone," Missy shrugged.

"What would an adult only rating be?" Law asked with a smirk.

"I'm out," Rachel announced. She started walking away as fast as she could to join Nami and Robin.

"Law," Dragon walked up to him. "I have something to talk to you and Luffy about. This also involves the Nunya, so you might want the captain of this ship to join as well." He directed the last sentence to Missy.

"Nunya doesn't really have a captain," Missy explained. "But I'll gather her crew and they'll hear you out."

"You're not part of Nunya's crew anymore?" Sabo asked.

"I'll be traveling with my husband and his crew from now on," Missy answered. "I'll be an honorary crewmember of Nunya as long as she floats, but my place is with Law." Missy then walked off to retrieve Rachel, Zoro and Ace.

The group of people convened a little ways away from the celebrations. "I just wanted to let you know that things with the ships are running smoothly," Dragon started. "We've already sent out seven of the ships fully equipped with the new systems. There have been several battles for each of them. They've all come out with hardly a scratch. One of the vessels ran into Kaido. The battle was longer than normal, Kaido was putting up a decent fight. Our soldiers sent him on the run though. We weren't able to sink his ship, but it did look like it was going to be out of commission for awhile. The news of their capabilities is spreading fast. We've had requests from the Helmeppo Navy. They want to know what our ships are using, how to get them and how to get in contact with you Luffy. They say that they owe you a debt and are under your command."

"Ah," Luffy half growled. "Won't they just give up already? I don't need their help when I have my Nakama."

"The solution is simple Luffy," Ace explained. "Give them orders to spread out and take care of the pirates that look like they're going to get in your way."

"Why would I do that?" Luffy demanded. "If the other pirates want to fight with me then I'll be ready for them. There's no need for someone else to fight for me."

"He does raise a good point," Zoro said. "Why should we let others fight our battles for us?"

"It's a strong tactic and statistically sound," Law said. "You shouldn't make such rash decisions Straw Hat-ya."

"I'll do what I want to do," Luffy pointed out.

"So that's how it is," Law sighed. "If you continue with that thought then I don't see how we can keep our alliance going. We'll have to part ways here."

"That's fine," Luffy nodded his head. "We're no longer allies then. Our alliance is finished."

"If that's what you want Straw Hat-ya," Law nodded. He turned to leave, putting a hand on Missy's shoulder to lead her away.

"I didn't say you could leave," Luffy yelled.

Law stopped in his tracks and turned to face Luffy. "What are you talking about?" he asked. "You just said yourself that our alliance is over."

"It's true the alliance is over," Luffy nodded. "But you married one of my sisters. That makes you my nakama now." His statement caused a stunned silence in the area.

Rachel, standing next to Missy looked down on the floor of the deck. She followed the path of some imaginary thing. "Well there goes the crab in a straw hat," she stated.

Standing next to her Missy said, "Just this once I'm not going to yell or hit you for that one." The End
