Seeing as how he wasn't pulling away nor making a fuss anymore, she began to hum quietly to herself as she cleaned his wounds with the fresh stream water before wrapping them carefully.

"Why are you helping me, Miko?" The taiyoukai finally asked after they sat in silence for a while. "What do you gain from this? An owed favor?"

She stilled her hands for a moment before looking up at him, meeting his gaze steadily. "A peace of mind," She said with a smile. "I wouldn't have felt right leaving you behind knowing I could have somehow helped you."
