Hime: Hello everybody! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in so long! It's really hard to juggle life when you're studying for a diploma and a committed school club member like me! Anyways, thank God for school holidays ne? (even though it's only a bloody week)

On with the story! *pumps fist in the air*

I do not own anything!

"I thought I saw a mini-Merlin today" Gwaine says out of nowhere, startling his companions in the middle of their dinner.

"A mini-what?" Mordred asks, wondering whether he heard right.

"A mini-Merlin!" grins Gwaine, looking at Merlin himself to see his reaction.

But all Gwaine got was an amused smile, "A mini-me you say?"

"Yes! He looked just like you! With the pretty blue eyes, the neckerchief and everything!"

At Gwaine's exclamation, the group chuckled at the excited look on the man's face.

Leon smirked, "You should really lay off the mead my friend."

The alcoholic chuckled, "I suppose I should."

While the others continued teasing and chidding Gwaine of his addiction, Mordred meanwhile was lost in his thoughts.

Merlin did tell me that his family would be camping out till the end of our stay in Ealdor but so close?

Perhaps, I should try & find Myrddin tomorrow morning before we set off so that I can warn him to be careful.

That boy is very lucky he was only seen by Gwaine…

The next morning, Arthur woke up first before anybody else. He turned to the side to see his wife sleeping peacefully beside him.

I feel restless, I don't think I can go back to sleep.

Arthur decided he needed a walk so after leaving a note behind, telling his wife and his men where he had gone, he set off into the woods.

The sounds of running water reached Arthur's ears. He followed the sound to see a cloaked figure with a large wooden stick, pointed at one end, fishing in the river. Currently, there were 4 fish caught already as seen from the other end.

Interesting, that's how Merlin catches fish as well.

Could it be Merlin?

No, that guy doesn't own a cloak as far as I know.

"Hello? Who are you?" called Arthur, the curiosity getting the best of him.

The person in question gave a hearty laugh, "So our paths cross again, your Highness. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

The blonde blinked his eyes at recognition at the person's voice, "The woman from the waterfall?"

The cloaked woman turned and walked out of the river and onto the grass. Next to her feet, were her boots.

Arthur frowned when he realized that other than her full lips, he could only see the woman's straight nose as she was wearing a hood.

Arthur then studied the rest of her whilst the woman put on her boots; the mysterious woman before him wore a forest-green corset that laced up at the front with a side zipper and a cotton peasant-style blouse in cream worn underneath. She wore stretch black pants made to be comfortable enough to hunt in, day and night.

"To what do I owe the honour of your presence milord? " asked the hooded woman when she finished putting on her knee-high almond-brown boots.

"I'm just on a walk is all."

"Is something the matter?" Layla asked, curious about the troubled expression on the man's face.

"It's, it's complicated to explain... "

The witch frowned at the King and without another word, she moved toward him.

Arthur watched her with wary eyes as she moved to his right and sat down on the grass. She patted the place where his feet stood, encouraging him to sit down.

"I'm all ears to hear your woes milord. "

Arthur sighed, sensing that she was determined to make him open up to her so he obliged to sitting down and began telling her of all his troubles.

"Myrddin! Myrddin!" Mordred called as he searched the woods for Merlin's son.

"Big Brother Mordred?"

Myrddin appeared from behind a tree and to the knight's amusement, he was dressed like his father; the brown jacket, the red tunic, blue neckerchief and brown boots.

"Come here"

Myrddin grinned at the older man's extended arms and ran over for the hug.

After one big hug, Mordred sat down cross-legged with Myrriddin on his knee, "How are you and your mother adjusting to living in the woods?"

"It's fun! Mama is a really good hunter!" exclaims the small child.

Mordred smiles, "Is she now?"

"Yeah! She caught a deer last night for dinner! It was delicious!"

Mordred chuckled, "That's good to hear."

Myriddin beamed which reminded the older male why he was looking for the boy.

"Myrridin, did you let yourself be seen yesterday?"

The said boy flushed, "Uhmm…"

"That was dangerous" reprimands the curly-haired knight.

"I'm sorry…"

Mordred saw tears filling up in the boy's eyes and sighed.

"Now don't cry, I'm not here to scold you. I just want you to be more careful. You were lucky that you were only seen by Gwaine. Next time, wear a hooded cloak. Do you have one?"

Myrddin nodded. Noting that the boy still looked guilty, the knight ruffled the child's hair.

"So what were you doing?" the man asked, changing the subject.

Myrddin brightened up immediately, "I was picking berries for breakfast!"

Mordred grinned, "I have time, I could help you."

"Sure!" beams the adorable child.

"You're overthinking it milord."

"Am not. As a king and a strategist, I must look at all the possibilities."

Layla rolled her eyes, "This isn't a battle, it's just a complicated internal situation with your wife."

"But why do we have this problem? We are both very sexually satisfied with each other so why is it-?"

Arthur stopped when he remembered something.

"Say, you're married and you have a child right?"

"Yeessss?" wondering where the blonde man was going with this.

"Do you uhmm, do you…"

It was then when Layla got his hint.

"Oh no, I am not giving you tips on how to produce a baby Arthur Pendragon!"

"But-"

"Arthur! I have you know that my husband and I had only gotten lost in the moment once! We didn't try for a baby like you, it just happened but we loved each other, he proposed when I told him, we married and he was always there for me and my son ever since."

"He sounds like a good man" Arthur told her honestly but still disappointed that she couldn't help him.

"He is but Arthur maybe your problem is that the two of you aren't thinking of love when you have sex, all you two think about is the baby making"

"Well…"

Arthur thought about it, as of late he had to admit that he and his wife were only focusing on having a child but that wasn't true until the start of the fifth year of the married couple where they were start of the badgering came to produce an heir.

"That isn't it."

Layla tilted her head at him wondering whether he was lying but the honest look on his face and the fact that the man did take a few moments to think about what she had said, proved to her that he was telling the truth.

She opened her mouth to say something but she was interrupted by a familiar voice to her.

"MAMA! MAMA! MAMA!"

"Is that your son?" Arthur asked. "He sounds excited about something."

Layla laughed, "Seems he is."

Arthur smiled, "I would like to meet him"

Layla froze.

No chance in hell!

Layla recovered quickly and waved her hand dismissively, praying that her nervousness wasn't showing, "Oh no that's alright, I'm sure your wife and your men have woken up by now, they're probably worried sick about you."

"I left them a note. Why can't I meet your son?"

Layla was feeling a growing anxiety at Arthur's expression, "It's not that you can't, it's just-"

"MAMA! MAMA WHERE ARE YOU?"

Myrddin's mother turned to address her son's calls, "I'm coming sweetie!"

"I'm sorry milord, good day to you and good luck."

She gave a quick curtsy and bolted into the woods leaving a grumpy Arthur and especially so when he realized something.

He still never got her name!
