Arthur walked and walked, not at all sure for how long or where he was going but he knew he just wanted to get away.

Last night was...Arthur couldn't find the words to describe it. On one hand, he was truly embarrassed and ashamed to watch a couple in such private moments together with his wife. On the other hand, he didn't regret it because he finally knew the mysterious woman's name not to mention what she looked like underneath her heavy cloak. Although, he did wish he could have seen her face.

Arthur sighed, not knowing what to do or say to Gwen. She was deeply embarrassed by the whole ordeal and refused to look at Arthur in the eye.

Was she ashamed like him for intruding?

Or is it something else that was bothering her?

Suddenly, a familiar sound reached his ears. He looked up just in time to see Layla in all her hooded glory, carrying a small basket of fruit in her hands as she walked, humming a tune.

"Layla?"

She turned and dropped the basket as Arthur covered his mouth in shock, surprised at himself for saying her name out loud.

"H-how-?"

He looked up to see her back against the tree and she had a hand to her chest as she tried to breathe calmly.

"Please don't be frightened."

The practicing magic user glared at the blonde which did no good really because her hood covered the top half of her face, "How could I not? You, Arthur Pendragon told me you didn't want to see me again when you found out I could do magic and here you are, calling me by my name no less! How could I not be afraid?!"

Arthur pursed his lips in thought until he got an idea. Layla watched as Arthur removed his sword from his holster and a small knife from his boot. He placed both weapons on the ground in front of him.

"I mean you no harm I promise."

She frowned, yet to be assured, "Come closer so that you are further away from your weapons."

Arthur did so and laid his back against a tree across from her. They were much closer now that Layla could see Arthur's armour up close.

Merlin enhanced the potency of the armour with magic for better protection.

That sly bastard...

"Layla?"

"Yes?"

Arthur nervously scratched the back of his neck, hoping he won't make a fool of himself.

"I need to apologize to you for two things."

Layla was confused, "For-?"

"Firstly, for telling you not to appear in front of me again. That was rash and I I was shocked that you were a magic user but I realized later on that I should not have judged you because of it. You were only doing what you could to save your son"

Arthur saw her mouth settled in a frown and hoped she wouldn't kill him for what he'll say next.

"The second thing is...my wife and I were on our way to the Hot Spring last night and we unintentionally intruded on your...activities there. I truly and sincerely apologize."

Arthur watched as a deep red embarrassed blush coloured the cheeks of the hooded woman before him.

"I really did not mean to see you in such a state..."

Layla fiddled with her hands nervously in front of her before speaking.

"Y-you sound sincer-re so I f-forgive you."

Arthur breathed a huge sigh of relief, finally relaxed until the witch asked a question.

"Erm...how much did you see?"

The blonde stiffened but he knew he couldn't lie to Layla. It wouldn't be right to since he was already honest with her from the start.

"I never got to see your face. Your back was facing us. We didn't really see much either to be honest."

"Then how did you know it was me? And my name?" Layla asked, curious.

"I recognized your voice when you spoke and whoever you were with said your name as he...kissed your skin..."

Arthur watched Layla as the blush of her cheeks intensified.

"Erm...sorry you had to see that..."

"Don't apologize please..." Arthur tells her, feeling embarrassed as well.

Layla said nothing and then there was a still silence for a good two minutes until a certain blond couldn't handle it and spoke again.

"The man was your husband wasn't it?"

Layla, a little surprised that he was talking to her and not leaving, softly answered, "Yes sire."

"So the two of you have finally reunited?"

"We were never really be apart, he visited often. My son and I will be returning home soon once the guests are done with their business with my mother in law."

"Business?"

Layla nodded, saying nothing else so as to avoid revealing too much.

"What's your son's name?"

The witch frowned, unsure of whether or not it would be saying too much if she told him. In the end, she told him anyway because Arthur was staring at her, waiting for her answer.

"Myriddin."

Arthur blinked, "That's an unusual name."

"I suppose"

Arthur tilted his head, Layla was so intriguing; shrouded by mystery and promise of something Arthur's instincts told him, adventure.

The blonde king truly felt he has a sixth sense for adventure however if you ask Merlin, he would say the sixth sense was more towards for trouble.

"How was it?"

Arthur blinked, off guard by the question, "I beg your pardon?"

"What was it like watching a couple in their intimate moments?"

The blonde's face flamed, "Erm..uhh.."

The Pendragon tried to form words but he all that came out was incoherent. It did not help that Layla had a smug smirk on her pink lips that reminded him of Morgana's arrogant one.

Where the hell did her embarrassment go?

Amused, she folded her arms, "Don't tell me you were aroused by my activities?"

"W-wha?! N-no!"

Layla couldn't help it, she laughed which shocked Arthur.

She uses magic and they are supposed to be evil yet why does she laugh so sweetly and pleasing to the ears?

"Layla"

"Hmm?" the woman answers, smiling widely.

"May I ask you some questions regarding magic? You are a sorceress so you are definitely more than able to answer them."

To say she was surprised was an understatement, the lady was shocked.

"What do you want to know?"

"Things I have always wanted to know truth be told. I wish I could seek out the answers to my questions on my own believe me but everything related to magic was burned by my father's decree when the Purge first started."

Layla tilted her head, pursing her lips as she studied him.

He seems sincere...

"Alright, I'll answer whatever questions you have."
