A.N. So Yeah, fight between Dorene and Arra for Dorene's last trial. I Am so happy to find new reviews even for the older chapters and to tell you the truth I found one for chapter 1 mentioning Mr. Crepsley being able to read Mia's notes and I began kicking myself for not seeing that before I uploaded the chapter but I am just going to pass it off as Mia makes her notes to Crepsley short and Evra told Crepsley what the few words the Mia writes to him means so that they can at least communicate in some way. Well now I should start with the fight.
Disclaimer: you know what goes here already.
Chapter 22
Arra charged at me her weapon pointed straight for my throat, within a few seconds she was within range and by them I had brought my own blade up and had now used it to divert Arra's weapon from its target.
As her blade began its decent into the ground I pulled my blade back and thrust it towards the female vampire who then dodged by jumping back and began circling me as I tried to pull my blade back to myself to use for defense.
Just as Arra was about to hit me from behind I turned and dodged just in time for her to only snag her blade on my shirt tearing a large hole through the side. I swore as I jumped back holding the tear closed asking myself why it was that I had chosen Arra to fight for the hour that this match was to last instead of a weaker yet strong vampire that I knew I had a slight chance against.
Arra quickly pulled my from my thoughts as she once again charged at me, in which my response was to turn and run but instead I met her head on dodging just seconds before her blade made contact, this time she tore the other side of my shirt. I quickly twisted to her other side and was about to hit her with the blade when she suddenly bent down and turned bringing her legs around and taking me off of my own feet as she stood.
As I began to fall my hand loosened its grip on the hilt of the blade thus once I hit the ground said weapon fell away from me leaving me weaponless and defenseless. I looked up and found Arra's towering figure standing above me ready to take the finally blow. I closed my eyes and clenched my fists on to the open air resting them on the hard dirt ground.
Just as Arra's blade was coming down I opened my fists back up and then grabbed two large fistfuls of the dirt and tossed them into the eyes of my opponent. Once the grains lodged themselves into the female's eyes a startled yell was heard and at that noise I stood and run to my blade while Arra began furiously wiping at her eyes trying in vain to get the grains out of her eyes.
Just as my hand was reaching for the hilt of my blade Arra's flew through the air and lodged itself next to mine while also managing to cut off a few strands of my hair. I turned and saw Arra starring at me with a wicked smile displaying itself across her face.
"Do you honestly think that I would fall for that?" she asked as she began walking forward to retrieve her blade. I looked down to mine lying on the ground next to it and then picked it up without another moment's hesitation.
I turned back to Arra and saw that she stood still a few feet in front of me, at this point I decided to answer her question. "No I didn't expect it to work." I paused as I pointed my blade at the female. "I just needed a few seconds of distraction." I stated as I charged for the now defenseless vampire.
Just as I was about to make contact Arra dodged to her right and then brought her hand tightly around my wrist. I dropped the blade in my hand and starred up at the female, trying to figure out what had just happened and how she was able to move so fast.
Suddenly pulling me out of my thoughts Arra twisted my arm back and pushed me down face first into the ground. I lifted up my head and glared at the dark haired female struggling to get out from underneath her knee that had just now found its way onto my lower back.
"Why struggle when you know that you already lost the match?" Arra asked from just above my head. I thought about her question trying to think of a witty come back when it suddenly hit me and would definitely hit her.
"Because the voice in my head that tells me when I lost is on break!" I yelled as I brought my head up and bashed it against her head which was still hovering just above my ears. She fell off my back and I took that instant to get back to my feet and grab my sword up from off the ground.
I heard a bunch of inward gasps and some loud cheers from the crowd as I stood above Arra's disorientated form. She stood up slightly unsteady at first then she got her bearings and smiled.
"I would expect a comeback like that from you." She said a little proudly. I smiled just as a horn was sounded signaling the end of the hour and the end of the match.
Gavner was the first one to race through the throng of vampires racing up to me and congratulating me as more vampires came and did the same. I smiled as the vampire prince who was present came down and smiled down at me.
"You have proven yourself and may now add your blood to that of the Stone of Blood." I smiled than followed Paris through the halls and into the Hall of Princes.
The process of becoming one of the clan was just as painful as the first time I was blooded but it was well worth it. Afterwards there was a slight party that I was just too tired to partake in so I just walked back to my cell and fell asleep quickly in the coffin.
The next morning or night to the non-vampires of the world I woke up to Gavner in my cell packing up some extra clothes that I had worn during or stay in the mountain. I sat up quickly wondering what the reasoning of him being in my cell was when suddenly he turned and smiled. "Finally awake I see." He said as he finally finished packing.
I climbed out of the coffin and starred at the ugly vampire who was slowly becoming like a father to me. "Why are you packing up the clothes, are we leaving soon?" I asked as he walked to the opening of the small stone room.
He reply soon came and it was like a smack to the face. "Well I was planning on leaving after the party last night but you fell asleep before we could leave." I starred at the vampire than asked the question that was on my mind.
"Where exactly are we going to go now?" He turned and faced me the smile never leaving his face.
"Well you said you were looking for Larten did you not?" I nodded my head then figured it out; I would finally be able to keep my end of the bargain with Steve. With that said the two of us left but not before we ran into Arra who challenged me to a rematch next time I was in the mountain.
A.N. So yay I finished what I wanted for book two the next chapter will be for book three I will try to get it up soon but again no promises okay.
