A.N. So yeah net chapter hope this was worth it, I truly don't know if I did an okay job but I want to continue and I am pretty sure that you would agree so here you go. Also I probably would've gotten this done sooner but I had a friend sleep over and I wanted to hang out with her. So there is my excuse for the chapter.

Chapter 31

*Victoria's POV *

Once again I clung to the mud brown braid hiding under the covers no longer wanting to go outside and from under the covers I could hear Darren's muffled half of a conversation that he was having on his cell phone with his girlfriend Debbie.

A pause interrupted the conversation as Darren paused to think something over.

"Debbie, would it be okay if Victoria and I came over and spent the night for Christmas?" I could just hear Darren say to Debbie on the other side of the phone there was a pause as she answered and a reply from Darren, "Thanks Debbie we'll try to get there early."

I just turned away not wanting to acknowledge that I really did want to go and get out of myself wallowing when in my mind I knew that Mia and Evra were probably going through hell and we would never see them again. Night soon came and Darren began pulling me out from under the covers forcing me to sit up.

He took in my red puffy eyes and my tear stained face, then his eye trailed to the braid held tightly in my hand.

"Come on Victoria we can't keep the Hemlocks waiting, and I am pretty sure you can't show up like that." Darren said as I wiped the remaining tears from my face, the tears that I wiped away were quickly replaced with more tears and I had the urge once again to crawl under the covers and continue crying but I wanted to be strong if not for myself then for Mia.

"Okay Darren" I said as I turned my gaze to his face and I tried once again to wipe the tears from my face.

Darren and I began getting ready as I continued to try and wipe the remaining tears that kept falling from my face. By the time we left the tears had stopped but my eyes were still red and puffy from the hours of crying that I did before.

The two of us finally reached Debbie's house Darren grabbed a hold of my hand and led me to the back door instead of the front and then knocked as I stood off to the side a little bit wondering why we didn't go through the front, Debbie answered the door and let us in.

As Darren walked in he whispered to Debbie and I believe that I heard him say Mia and Evra as well as my name. I followed in and removed my shoes as Debbie kneeled down to my eye level. "Well hey Victoria, I'm glad to see you again."

I nodded mutely and followed Darren into the kitchen where a woman who I could only guess was Debbie's mother. The woman turned and a broad smile was plastered on her face.

"Well what do we have here?" She took in Darren and I standing in front of her. "Let's see, the handsome pirate must be Darren and the cute little sun drop must be Victoria." She clasped her hands in front of her and her smile got even wider. It that was even possible.

"Debbie has told me about you and your family it is truly such a shame that they couldn't make it." Darren looked down at me and I just took a deep breath then exhaled. "It really is Ms. Hemlock, and I wish that they could've made it but they said they weren't feeling too well."

With that I followed the kind voice of who I thought to be Debbie's father and found myself in the dining room with the table already set. Supper went nicely and then Debbie's parents began talking about drinks and suddenly Mr. Hemlock suggested that since it was Christmas Darren and Debbie should be able to have some as well, Then Darren brought out the wine that he had brought and offered to pour the classes, with that he left into the kitchen to pour the glasses.

A few minutes passed and then Debbie decided that she would go to check on Darren as Mr. Hemlock joked about sending a search party to look for the both of them. Suddenly I found myself smiling in what felt like forever and I now just realized how much I missed the feeling.

Suddenly Darren and Debbie came back Darren grinning from ear to ear and Debbie slightly blushing, Darren set the drinks down in front of the Hemlocks and gave me a simple glass of milk, As the Hemlocks began drinking they began joking about how they should just switch Debbie with Darren and then Mr. Hemlock decided to end the night with a toast.

We all raised our glasses to started and then Mr. Hemlock burst out with his toast

"To the Hemlocks, and their young lovers!" with that Darren and Debbie both turned bright shades of red and I found myself laughing, after that the Hemlocks began falling asleep like Darren warned me they would and then he carried them up to their attic and I was to wait there for him and Mr. Crepsley to come back.

*Mia's POV*

Evra's voice once again woke me up from the strangely familiar yet terrifying dream. I looked with blurry vision at the surroundings and found that once again it was devoid of any purple mass, as much as I wanted to smile at the fact but I was not able to knowing that Murlough would soon be back.

As Evra and I hung in silence I picked up distant voices yelling and it took awhile to remember who they belonged to it felt like forever since Evra and I have seen light. I slowly turned my head trying to avoid getting a head ache but it was a false hope at this point and I tried to convey what I heard through the stare but all I saw of Evra at this point was a distant green shape.

"Mia what's wrong?" Evra asked in a whisper, I tried to think of how to answer him and just settled on what got me to talk in the first place. I began shifting quickly trying to open as many wounds as I could trying to tune out Evra's screams of protest at the sight of blood.

Finally I couldn't focus on anything other than the pain surrounding my body then I imagined the words and tried to force them out.

"E…v…ra..." It was quiet and strained but by the look on Evra's face I knew he heard it.

"Th…e…y...'re…. Here" Evra got what I said in the few words and silent tears began streaming from his eyes. As the small room fell back into silence I began to regret opening the cuts and wounds back up because once again the blood loss was getting to me and again I passed out.

Once again I found myself under the red haze and gazing out at the world only this time my arms were not bound by chains instead they were already embedded in the chest of a man with a once pure white lab coat and now it was coated in blood.

I tried to forcefully remove my arm from the man's chest but all my body did was embed it in deeper, as my body looked around at the rest of the carnage it created I saw two other dead bodies and one severely injured one.

Suddenly next thing I know my body falls to the ground and it is lifted up to stare at a pleased and sadistic expression.

"That's my girl Mia, and just think 'HE' said you would lose yourself if I let it go this far." I starred at the man in front of me and I knew that even if this was just a dream I hated him.

Just like before a voice familiar resounded through the dream only this time it was accompanied by another just as familiar voice.

"Mia," one said immediately followed by the new one.

"Mia please wake up!"

I ignored the voices wanting to see where this dream would lead. Suddenly the two Men who were holding me up began dragging me away, we passed through a door and I was dragged down a long hallway.

As we continued I caught a movement to my right and shifted my eyes to get a better look. What or I should say is how I saw was the same little red headed girl that has been plaguing the rest of these dreams or nightmares which ever you prefer but for the life of me I could not place a face to the small girl.

Again the voices interrupt but this time it was only the usual one no longer the new one.

"Mia please you have to get up"

I try to ignore the voice but it sounded really urgent and as much as I try to go back to the white halls and the little red headed girl all I get is black so I just drift into the black and wait for the scenes to come back.

*Victoria's POV*

I sat in the attic waiting for Darren and Mr. Crepsley to come back when I suddenly heard footsteps and then a few moments' later loud crashes sounded throughout the house up to the attic and I found myself hiding behind some of the boxes stored up there.

So after the house got quiet again I heard a few knocks coming from door leading to the attic and soon after the knock sounded Darren's head popped out from underneath.

"Victoria, do you want to come with me and get Mia and Evra?" Darren asked as I got up he held up his hand. "Victoria if you do come you will have to walk through the sewers are you sure you want to come?"

I froze thinking about the sewers and how dark they were but then I thought about Mia and Evra had to spend what would probably feel like forever down in the dark tunnels so in answer to Darren's question I simple stood and made my way to the stairs.

I stood out in the snow waiting for Darren and Mr. Crepsley finish up inside hoping that we would get to them in time. I was kneeling at the ground making a small pile in the slush and snow until I heard the door behind me creak open then Darren and Mr. Crepsley walked out.

I couldn't help but notice that Mr. Crepsley was holding a large black thing over his shoulder I took my attention away from the strange red clad man as Darren knelt down in front of me.

"Now Victoria," Darren started as he looked into my eyes. "You don't have to come down there with us, if you want you can stay and wait here until Mr. Crepsley and I get back." I stared at Darren and then into his eyes looking for some type of clue as to what he was thinking, But I found nothing so I just stood and made my way to the fence surrounding the yard.

Darren and Mr. Crepsley soon past me and then led the way into the sewer, once down there I couldn't help it and soon found my hand reaching out and grabbing a hold of Darren's hand that wasn't trailing along the wall.

After a while Mr. Crepsley tossed the object that he had been carrying into the sewer water and then we continued, I noticed that there were many twists and turns that we took and was surprised to find that Darren seemed to actually know where it was that he was going.

After what seemed like hours of trailing through the dark we came to a circular shaped cavern that was dimly lit by four small torches near one side hanging from the ceiling were two shapes one was struggling against their bonds while the other remained still I raced over knowing full well who these two shapes were.

When I got close enough I finally realized how long it must have seemed for these two down here, I looked the two of them up and down and noticed that Evra was missing practically all the scales that were once on his shoulder and Mia was passed out her face twisted into one of pain and fear.

I got out of the way as Mr. Crepsley and Darren stepped forward to get the down and I watched in horror as Mia came down and when Darren tried to catch her Darren unprepared fell to the ground with her unconscious form on top of him.

Evra stepped forward and picked up Mia's form from on top of Darren and carried her over to where I stood. With Mia now on the ground and her spread around her I now saw that it now only came just above her shoulders.

Without realizing it tears began pouring down my face and I truly now just realized how much I have missed Mia and Evra. I watched as the tears fell on Mia's cheek and trailed down then falling to the ground.

Evra was silent and just remained where he was Mia's head in his lap. Suddenly Mia was lifted from the ground and when I looked up I found that Mr. Crepsley was holding her bridal style and was making his was silently to the exit.

I got up with Evra's help and then the two of us followed silently but I soon found myself running to catch up with Mr. Crepsley and Mia. I then grabbed a hold of Mia's dangling hand and held on as we continued to make our way out. In the background I could hear Darren and Evra talking but I didn't care I had my friend back.
