Once she arrived at her safe haven, she sat down on one of the large roots and pulled her knees to her chest.

'Inuyasha,' She thought bitterly, putting her forehead to her knees. 'Why do I still let him hurt me like this? We are just friends and yet his words still sting.' She sighed heavily as her eyes filled with tears. 'Ugh! Stop it, Kagome! You're stronger than this!' She tilted her head back and leaned it against the massive tree trunk. She took a deep breath and slowly released it as a lone tear slid down her cheek.
