Chapter 42

'They must've stopped looking for us. Or maybe they can't find us' Junko told himself...or more hoped.

"Uh, Stork, how much longer do we have to stay here?"
They'd been hiding in the ruins for a while now and he noted with a sickening sensation that it was almost dawn.

Stork didn't have a chance to answer as Radarr appeared, climbing over a few large stones and flopping down on top of them tiredly. He whined tenderly as Junko picked up his limp form carefully.

"Hey Radarr. Where did you get to?" Radarr whined again then squawked happily and pointed to the town.

"What is it Radarr?" Stork questioned, finally turning away from the book.
Radarr gestured back to the town again, more desperately this time then proceeded to pose a few times. They found they still couldn't understand him.

Radarr groaned and rolled his eyes and gestured for them to follow him.
Thinking it may've had something to do with either Blinx and Finn or Aerrow and Piper, they were more than happy to follow.

Aerrow and Piper sat chained to the wall and, now, with a guard posted outside their room.
The king hadn't had much to say, though he was unhappy that his sleep had been disturbed, but decided it was best that they stay close by and had sent out sentries to look for the other two.

"So, fearless leader, what do we do now?" Piper asked with seething sarcasm, still mad at him.

"Relax Piper. This was all part of my plan" Aerrow whispered.
He saw Piper roll her eyes disbelievingly. "It was!" he insisted "Look" one of his shackles snapped open. He cringed as the sound reverberated off the quiet walls but seemed not to catch the attention of the guard.

"Aerrow, as much as I'm impressed by your ability to pick a lock, I fail to see how that will help us help Blinx and Finn" Piper stated quietly as he set to work on her cuffs.

"It got their attention, didn't it? And Junko and Stork managed to get away!" Aerrow said as-a-matter-of-factly "And an unexpected plus, it got us inside the palace! Now it'll be easier for us to locate the Princess and her Domo" He knew Blinx would hit him if she ever heard him say that again.

"Well, okay, that is a pretty good plus, but how do we get past the guard and find them without raising an alarm?" Piper questioned.
When he smiled, she noted that she didn't like how it sat. She probably wasn't going to like this idea.

"We'll have to split up…and one of us will have to be the distraction if it comes down to it"

She deadpanned…she was right; she didn't like this idea. She hoped when they found Blinx…he'd say something stupid and she'd kill him.

Radarr came to a stop at his wall and waited for Junko and Stork to catch up.
They did…eventually…panting heavily.

"Radarr, why did you have to hurry so quickly?" Junko asked through ragged breaths as Stork rolled his eyes silently for a moment.

"I think the better question is why are we so close to the palace?"

It was Radarr's turn to roll his eyes and disappeared into the new hole that was his entrance. When he came up on the other side he moved away, awaiting their not so quiet appearance.
When that happened, they would have to move quick, as not to be caught all over again or, in his case, for the first time.
