Chapter 43
Radarr was right about the amount of noise they would make. He was also right about the guards but, apparently, someone was loose in the palace. This was a distraction they could use to their advantage.
The green glow of Junko's Knuckle Busters faded as Radarr motioned for the two to follow him. Not bothering to hide this time, he dashed along the path on all fours skidding to a stop at the grate. Looking down again, he expected to see Blink, but instead saw Finn being throttled by said girl.
"You're lucky I didn't break something!" she screamed at the blonde as he tried and failed to push her off.
The Merb and Wallop came to a quick stop beside him as he sniggered at the sight. It was always fun to see Finn have his arse handed to him…apparently Stork thought so too.
"Um, are we disturbing something?" Stork chuckled out
"Yeah, would you two like to be left alone?" Junko joined in.
Blinx looked up "Stork! Junko! I am so glad to see you guys!"
"You wouldn't mind getting us outta here, would ya?" Finn asked through strain.
Blinx gave him one last slap for good measure and Junko got to work on the grate, taking hold of it and pulling it out of the ground with his strength. The loud, heavy crunch of the bars as they connected with the wall behind him must've alerted someone inside as a cry of 'To The Domo and The Princess!' was heard.
Stork squeaked and looked back down into the newly opened prison. He saw that Blinx was using Finn as a crutch.
"What did you do?!" he yelled accusingly at Finn.
"It's a long story. Can we maybe talk about it later?!" the blonde shot back.
"Finn, you go out first and pull Stork out after me" Blinx ordered
"Why should I have to climb down there to begin with?!" Stork screamed in annoyance
"Because you're the tallest!" she screamed back angrily
"And Junko won't fit through that hole" Finn stated smartly, not caring too much about the look he received from his Wallop friend.
Blinx steadied herself against the wall as Finn climbed the pedestal and was pulled out by the Merbs long arms. Stork then dropped himself carefully through the hole into the small room.
"Well, this is comfortable" he said as he dropped on the mattress.
"You're telling me" Blinx stated sarcastically.
"You're not going to give me an infection, are you?" He asked, not daring to touch her.
"If I do, you have my full permission to pass it back" she answered scathingly.
He shared her look as they eyed each other for a moment, he then placed her arm around his shoulders and proceeded to lift her into his arms.
"Wow. You're really strong for someone so skinny" she commented
"Uh…thanks" he replied, then realised their predicament "How are we going to get onto the stand if I'm holding you?"
"I guess one of us will have to help the other up" She provided logically.
He nodded and set her, standing, on the pedestal.
"Everything alright down there?"
They both looked up to see Aerrow staring down
"It will be when we're outta here!" Stork answered for them.
Aerrow nodded "You just focus on getting out"
He disappeared, probably to fight off some guards.
Blinx took hold of Stork's hand when he gave it to her and pulled him up beside her, he then lifted her, carefully, onto his shoulders and stood straight.
He watched as Finn and Junko pulled her out taking hold of her ankles as the guards came through the door.
Junko lifted her the rest of the way out and into the air, allowing Stork to swing out from underneath her and to earth.
