Chapter 29: Kite's Showdown with Alakazam!
"The battle between Kite the challenger and gym leader Sabrina will now commence. It will be a 2 on 2 battle, in addition only the challenger may substitute pokemon" the ref shouted.
"Go Elekid" Kite shouted as Elekid appeared on the field.
"Go Hypno" Sabrina shouted as Hypno appeared on the field, Hypno was a bipedal yellow colored pokemon that held a miniature circle tied to a string.
"Hypno?" Kite questioned.
"That's the evolved form of Drowzee" Daisuke said.
"That is correct, while you guys were at lunch my Drowzee evolved" Sabrina grinned.
"That's fine, just a better challenge" Kite said determined.
"Elekid use electro ball" Kite commanded, Elekid flung a large ball of electricity towards Hypno.
"Hypno quick use agility" Sabrina commanded, just then Hypno appeared right in front of Elekid.
"Elekid use thunder punch" Kite commanded, Elekid's right fist sparked with electricity punching towards Hypno.
"Hypno use reflect" Sabrina commanded, Hypno held his hands out forming a large screen blocking the Elekid's punch.
"Hypno use hypnosis" Sabrina commanded, Hypno stood directly in front of Elekid. Hypno began to lightly swing his medallion causing Elekid to get drowsy.
"Elekid use low kick" Kite commanded, Elekid attempted to kick but his drowsiness finally overwhelms him and falls to the ground.
"Hypno finish him with psybeam" Sabrina commanded, Hypno pointed his hands out towards the fallen Elekid. Hypno shot a large multi colored beam striking everything in its path including Elekid.
After the smoke cleared up, Elekid stood up on its legs awoken.
"Elekid your awake!" Kite shouted, just then Elekid started to glow a bright white and began changing shapes.
"It's evolving?" Sabrina questioned.
The light cleared and a larger electric pokemon stood up, "Elekid evolved to Electabuzz" Kite smirked.
"I see" Sabrina grinned.
"Electabuzz use thunder punch" Kite commanded, Electabuzz's large fist sparked with electricity punching Hypno right in the chest.
"Hypno quick use pysbeam" Sabrina quickly commanded, Hypno shot a large multi colored beam towards Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz use light screen" Kite commanded, Electabuzz formed a glowing dome over him blocking the psybeam attack.
"Electabuzz use electro ball" Kite commanded, Electabuzz formed a large ball of electricity and shot it towards Hypno.
"Hypno use reflect" Sabrina commanded, Hypno formed a large glass screen in front of him.
"Electabuzz finish this with your newest move, Volt Tackle!" Kite shouted, Electabuzz jumped into the air and then shot towards Hypno while covered in electricity.
The electro ball smashed into the glass screen destroying it, thus Electabuzz smashes into Hypno with volt tackle sending him flying fainted.
"Hypno is unable to battle, victory goes to Electabuzz" the ref shouted.
"Hell yea!" Kite shouted with excitement.
"Not bad at all, but let me tell you something. Drowzee was not the only pokemon of mine to have evolved" Sabrina smirked.
"That means…" Kite started.
"That's right, go Alakazam" Sabrina shouted as Alakazam appeared on the field. Alakazam has a humanoid structure with a large mustache and two spoons instead of one.
"I hope your Electabuzz is ready, my Alakazam fights differently than from when it was an Alakazam" Sabrina smirked.
"I will beat him either way" Kite said determined.
"Electabuzz use electro ball" Kite commanded, Electabuzz threw a large ball of electricity towards Alakazam.
"Alakazam use agility" Sabrina commanded, just then Alakazam disappeared from sight then suddenly appearing behind Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz behind you!" Kite shouted.
"Too late, Alakazam use psycho cut!" Sabrina commanded, one of Alakazam's spoons started to glow a light blue and grew larger and what appeared to be a blade.
Alakazam slashed Electabuzz in the back a few times before finally releasing a large light blue crescent blade smashing into Electabuzz and sending him flying.
"Electabuzz quick use volt tackle" Kite commanded, Electabuzz shot towards Alakazam covered in electricity.
"Alakazam use psybeam" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam crossed his two spoons in front of him. Alakazam's eyes started to glow blue as he shot a large multi colored beam towards Electabuzz.
Electabuzz collided with Alakazam's psybeam causing a large explosion. When the smoke cleared Electabuzz was still standing but breathing heavily.
"Electabuzz!" Kite shouted.
"Wow I can't believe it" Sabrina grinned.
"Let's finish this Alakazam, use agility" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam disappeared from sight.
"Electabuzz keep your eyes open" Kite advised, just then Alakazam appeared behind Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz thunder punch!" Kite quickly commanded, Electabuzz's right fist sparked with electricity and he swung his fist towards Alakazam who simply avoided the attack.
"Now Alakazam use psycho cut" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam's spoon grew into a large light blue glowing blade. Alakazam slashed Electabuzz right in the chest, Electabuzz then fell on his back fainted.
"Electabuzz is unable to battle, therefore the victor is Alakazam" the ref shouted as Sabrina smirked and Kite recalled Electabuzz.
"Good job out there" Kite said to Electabuzz's pokeball.
"Alright let's go Hitmonchan!" Kite shouted as Hitmonchan appeared on the field.
"The boy with the blonde hair lost to me the first match and he used a Hitmonchan" Sabrina stated.
"This is that same Hitmonchan, and he is here for a rematch" Kite said determined as Hitmonchan bumped his fist together.
"I see, well hopefully this time his trainer has more faith in him" Sabrina said.
"Believe me I do, Hitmonchan use fire punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan shot towards Alakazam swinging his fire coated fist at the psychic pokemon.
"Alakazam use agility" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam disappeared from sight dodging Hitmonchan's attack.
"Alakazam use psycho cut" Sabrina commanded.
"Like I would fall for that again, Hitmonchan use ice punch behind you" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's right fist started to glow a bright blue swinging it behind him.
Sabrina smirked as Alakazam appeared on the other side of Hitmonchan.
"What?!" Kite shouted is dismay as Alakazam slashed Hitmonchan causing him to fall on his knees.
"Hitmonchan!" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan slowly got back up to his feet in a battle stance.
"Alakazam use agility" Sabrina commanded as Alakazam disappeared from sight.
"Hitmonchan use fire punch and thunder punch but don't swing yet" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's right fist engulfed in flames while his left fist sparked with electricity.
Alakazam suddenly appeared behind Hitmonchan, "There!" Kite shouted.
Hitmonchan swung his fiery fist at Alakazam who disappeared again avoiding the attack. Alakazam kept appearing and disappearing avoiding each of Hitmonchan's barrage of punches.
"Now Alakazam use psychic" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam appeared in front of Hitmonchan and held out his spoons crossed in front of Hitmonchan's chest. Alakazam's eyes started to glow blue as did Hitmonchan's outline stopping Hitmonchan and his attack.
"Now end it with psybeam" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam shot a large multi colored beam that completely surrounded Hitmonchan causing a large explosion in front of Alakazam.
"Well I guess that's it" Sabrina grinned.
Kite was staring at the ground with his eyes closed.
"Who said it was over?!" Kite shouted in the air.
"Hitmonchan use sky uppercut!" Kite shouted, just then Hitmonchan shot out of the smoke with his right fist glowing bright light blue. Hitmonchan uppercutted Alakazam right in the jaw sending him flying towards the ceiling.
"Alakazam stop yourself with psychic" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam's eyes and outline started to glow a light blue and stopped himself from crashing into the ceiling.
"Now use psychic on Hitmonchan and slam him into the ceiling" Sabrina commanded, Alakazam pointed his spoons and Hitmonchan. Hitmonchan's outline started to glow a light blue, Alakazam swung his spoons in the air causing Hitmonchan to fly into the air crashing into the ceiling.
"Now end this with psycho cut!" Sabrina shouted, Alakazam held Hitmonchan into the air with his left spoon and formed a large light blue swords with his right spoon.
"Hitmonchan use sky uppercut but punch the sword" Kite commanded, just then Alakazam swung his large sword at Hitmonchan. However, Hitmonchan used his glowing light blue right fist and punched the side of the sword causing Alakazam to miss and his right spoon to fall back to the ground.
"Now use fire punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's right fist engulfed in flames as Hitmonchan punched Alakazam in the face slamming him into the ceiling.
"Now use thunder punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's left fist sparked with electricity as Hitmonchan punched Alakazam in the face again slamming him into the ceiling once again.
"Go all out Hitmonchan!" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan started to repeatedly punch Alakazam in the face with is fire and electric fist. Hitmonchan's punching barrage began to speed up hitting Alakazam against the ceiling harder and faster each time causing the ceiling to start to crack.
"NOW USE MEGA PUNCH!" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan stopped the barrage and held his right fist back charging energy as it began to glow a bright white. Hitmonchan then with all his might punched Alakazam in the face and through the ceiling of the gym.
"Alakazam!" Sabrina shouted.
"Wow such power!" Daisuke said in amazement as he stood up.
"Whoa…" Green said speechless.
Both Hitmonchan and Alakazam fell back to earth and each landed on their backs. Alakazam was clearly knocked out however, Hitmonchan barely stood back to his feet.
"Alakazam is unable to battle, the victor is Hitmonchan therefore the victor of this match is Kite the challenger" the ref shouted.
"Alright!" Kite shouted as he ran over to Hitmonchan.
"Nice!" Daisuke said.
"Congrats Kite!" Green shouted.
"That was a great job Hitmonchan" Kite said as the trainer and pokemon bumped fist.
"That was a great match, you definitely are a much better trainer for Hitmonchan than that other boy" Sabrina complimented.
"As promised here is your Marsh Badge" Sabrina said as she handed Kite the badge.
"Alright!" Kite shouted with joy as Daisuke and Green appeared.
"Congrats bro!" Daisuke said.
"Great job Kite!" Green shouted as she hugged Kite.
"Thanks…" Kite attempted to hug the overly excited Green but she let go and ran up to Hitmonchan and started to hug him overly excited.
"Wow Hitmonchan you did so great! If I'm ever in trouble I will call you" Green said excitedly.
"I have never seen her so excited" Daisuke commented.
"Me either" Kite agreed.
"Haha that is because she is starting to really enjoy traveling with you two" Sabrina explained.
"Took me a while to get use to Kite as well" Daisuke joked.
"What?" Kite shouted as Sabrina laughed.
"Well you better get Hitmonchan to the Pokemon Center" Sabrina said, Kite and Daisuke looked back and noticed Green still jumping in excitement about Hitmonchan.
"Right, Hitmonchan return" Kite said as he recalled Hitmonchan.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Green shouted as she grabbed both Kite and Daisuke by the shoulders and ran out the gym door.
"Hey we can run!" Kite and Daisuke shouted laughing.
The trio waved back towards Sabrina and then ran towards the Pokemon Center laughing and ready for the next adventure.
Sabrina walked back insider her gym only to notice a slim man standing there in the shadows.
"I know you have been here this whole time" Sabrina started.
"You are such a great psychic" the young man stated as he walked out from the shadows.
"Of course, so did you enjoy their gym battle with me? Blue" Sabrina asked.
"It was good" Blue stated.
"You realize they are getting closer to your gym" Sabrina stated.
"I know, I am ready for them" Blue smirked.
"I remember when you came through my gym, you were so young and cute" Sabrina grinned.
"That was not too long ago…" Blue kind of stared at Sabrina.
Sabrina chuckled, "So are you ready for your brother?" Sabrina asked.
"I have to be" Blue stated.
"He is strong, he takes after you" Sabrina said.
"Yea but he is too cocky, he needs to lose pretty soon" Blue said.
"Why don't you beat him?" Sabrina questioned.
"And never hear the end of it from my mother? And besides Red won't let me beat him" Blue stated.
"Do you think Kite can?" Sabrina questioned.
"That is a question that I can't answer, but I can tell you that we will soon find out" Blue stated.

Alright another chapter down, so when Hitmonchan beat Alakazam I kind of based that finishing attack off Luffy vs. Crocodile from One Piece, which happens to be one of my favorite animes.
