Chapter 32: Starters Clash! Wartortle vs Ivysaur!
The smoke cleared as both Pikachu's were still standing breathing heavily.
Both Pikachu's then suffered the recoil damage from the volt tackle.
"Pikachu use volt tackle again" Red commanded, Red's Pikachu shot towards the opposing Pikachu at lightning speed while covered in electricity to where you could only see Pikachu's after image.
"Now use double team" Red commanded, the electric covered Pikachu split into two, then four, then eight Pikachu's using volt tackle charging towards Kite's Pikachu.
"Pikachu use quick attack and charge at the Pikachu's" Kite commanded, Kite's Pikachu rocketed towards the eight dashing Pikachu's.
"Dodge each Pikachu" Kite shouted. The eight Pikachu's all charged in one at a time towards Kite's Pikachu who was barely managing to avoid each one.
"Remember only one is real" Kite shouted, Kite's Pikachu dodge's six of the fake Pikachu's while the other two go in for a simultaneous attack.
"Pikachu dodge!" Kite shouted, the two attacking Pikachu's did a crossing attack, Kite's Pikachu managed to jump over the two Pikachu's as one of them disappeared revealing the real one.
Red's Pikachu stood there taking the recoil from volt tackle.
"Quick Pikachu use iron tail" Kite commanded, Kite's Pikachu's tail turned into metal and struck Red's Pikachu sending him flying back.
"Again into the air!" Kite commanded, Kite's Pikachu dashed towards Red's Pikachu while his tail was still metal. Kite's Pikachu struck Red's Pikachu into the air with iron tail.
"Quick attack and then use iron tail to slam him into the ground" Kite continued, Kite's Pikachu used quick attack to dash into the air towards Red's free falling Pikachu.
"Pikachu use thunderbolt" Red commanded, Red's Pikachu stabilized in mid-air and shot a large bolt of electricity downwards at Kite's Pikachu.
Kite's Pikachu avoided the bolt and appeared in front of Red's Pikachu. Kite's Pikachu struck Red's Pikachu with iron tail sending him flying back towards the ground.
"Now volt tackle" Kite commanded, Kite's Pikachu while in mid-air rocketed towards Red's Pikachu who was laying on the ground struggling to get up. Kite's Pikachu was covered in electricity to where you could only see his after image.
"Quick use thunderbolt" Red commanded, Red's Pikachu shot a large bolt of electricity upwards towards Kite's Pikachu.
"Pikachu spin" Kite ordered, Pikachu while still using volt tackle spun dodging the thunderbolt.
"Pikachu use…" Red started but was interrupted by Kite's Pikachu crashing into his Pikachu causing an electrical explosion.
When the smoke cleared both Pikachu's laid fainted.
"Both pokemon are unable to battle" Daisuke shouted.
"What? I thought Pikachu would have survived that" Kite said a little shocked.
"We both use volt tackle too much, most of their damage must have been from the recoil" Red said as he recalled his Pikachu.
"It's okay Pikachu at least you got him" Kite said as he recalled Pikachu.
"Snorlax let's go" Red shouted as Snorlax appeared on the field asleep.
"Him again? Hitmonchan you got this" Kite shouted as Hitmonchan appeared on the field throwing some air jabs indicating he was ready for battle.
"Snorlax use hyper beam" Red commanded, Snorlax began to charge a bright orange orb of energy in his mouth.
"Hitmonchan dash towards Snorlax" Kite ordered, Hitmonchan stared to dash towards Snorlax who was charging the beam still.
"I won't let you get close, fire Snorlax!" Red shouted, Snorlax shot the large bright orange colored beam at the dashing Hitmonchan.
"Dodge now Hitmonchan!" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan avoided the beam and now was right in front of Snorlax.
"Use sky uppercut" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's right fist glowed a bright blue as he uppercuts Snorlax in the chin causing Snorlax to fall backwards on his back.
"Mega punch go!" Kite ordered, Hitmonchan jumped on top of the large Snorlax with both his fist glowing bright white. Hitmonchan began to rapidly punch Snorlax in the face with mega punch.
"Snorlax use mega punch as well" Red commanded, Snorlax's while taking the punches struck Hitmonchan in the side with his glowing white fist. Hitmonchan was sent flying back and Snorlax stood back up.
"That is one tough pokemon" Kite said looking a little shocked.
"Why do you think I caught him" Red smirked.
"Hitmonchan use mega punch" Kite commanded, both Hitmonchan's fists began to glow a bright white.
"Snorlax you use mega punch as well" Red commanded, both Snorlax's fists began to glow a bright white.
Both pokemon charged towards each other and began to throw a barrage of punches at one another. It was an all-out punching battle as he pokemon was ferociously swinging their mega punches at each other, some were connecting, and some weren't.
Each pokemon simultaneously punched each other in the face sending both pokemon backwards.
Both pokemon stood there breathing heavily, Snorlax fell on his belly fainted while Hitmonchan fell to one knee.
"Snorlax is unable to battle" Daisuke shouted.
"Finally got him, good job Hitmonchan" Kite shouted towards his pokemon.
"Hitmonchan!" Hitmonchan shouted standing back up ready for the next fight.
"Let's go Charmeleon" Red shouted as Charmeleon appeared on the field.
"What? You have a Charmeleon too?" Kite questioned.
"Sure do, caught him in the wild as well" Red smirked.
"Charmeleon use flamethrower" Red commanded, Charmeleon shot a large streak of fire towards Hitmonchan.
"Hitmonchan dodge and use thunder punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan avoided the flamethrower and dashed towards Charmeleon while his right fist was engulfed in electricity.
Hitmonchan punched Charmeleon square in the face with an electrified fist sending him flying backwards.
"Charmeleon use slash" Red commanded, Charmeleon's claws glowed a bright white and grew largely in size. Charmeleon dashed towards Hitmonchan with his large glowing white claw.
"Hitmonchan dodge" Kite shouted, Charmeleon began to ferociously swipe its large glowing white claws at Hitmonchan who was barely avoiding each swipe.
"Iron tail go" Red commanded, Charmeleon's tail turned to metal and swung the iron tail towards Hitmonchan.
"Hitmonchan block, then use mega punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan used his left arm to block the incoming iron tail while his right fist was glowing white.
"Quick Charmeleon again" Red commanded, Charmeleon then swung his iron tail around to the right colliding with Hitmonchan's mega punch causing both pokemon to fly backwards.
"Hitmonchan use sky uppercut" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan dashed towards Charmeleon while his right fist was glowing bright light blue.
"Charmeleon use smokescreen" Red commanded, Charmeleon covered the field in smoke.
"Now slash" Red commanded, Charmeleon went into the dark smoke with his claws enlarged and glowing a bright white.
"Hitmonchan be careful" Kite shouted. The two trainers stood in silence and waited patiently.
The smoke began to dissipate as you could make out Charmeleon's figure standing and Hitmonchan's figure was on one knee.
The smoke cleared as Charmeleon was standing tall above Hitmonchan who was on one knee.
"End it Charmeleon, slash!" Red shouted, Charmeleon's right claw was enlarged while glowing white as Charmeleon swung towards Hitmonchan.
"Now Hitmonchan!" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan took the slash with his left arm as his right fist began to glow a bright blue. Hitmonchan jolted upwards upper cutting Charmeleon sending him flying straight into the air.
Charmeleon crashed back into the ground and struggled to get back up.
"End it Hitmonchan with our newest combo, start with mega punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan jolted towards the struggling Charmeleon while his right first was glowing bright white.
"Charmeleon flamethrower" Red commanded, Charmeleon began to inhale, but once he exhaled only a tiny flame came out and Charmeleon coughed and then fell to the ground fainted.
"Charmeleon is unable to battle" Daisuke shouted.
Red grunted as he recalled Charmeleon, "Wartortle end this" Red shouted as Wartortle appeared on the field.
"Wartortle use water pulse" Red commanded, Wartortle formed a blue orb in his hands and flung it towards Hitmonchan.
Hitmonchan easily avoided the orb, the orb hit a rock behind him exploding into a wave.
"Hitmonchan use thunder punch" Kite ordered, Hitmonchan bolted towards Wartortle as his right fist sparked with electricity.
"Wartortle use ice punch" Red commanded, Wartortle's right fist began to glow a bright blue.
The two pokemons fist collided causing an explosion which covered the field in smoke; both pokemon were sent flying back.
"Hitmonchan sky uppercut, go!" Kite ordered, Hitmonchan bolted towards Wartortle while his right fist glowed bright blue.
"Wartortle into your shell!" Red quickly ordered. As Hitmonchan went for the uppercut, Wartortle went into his shell avoiding the fist.
"Now ice punch" Red commanded, Wartortle popped out of his shell and punched Hitmonchan in the face with a glowing light blue fist. Hitmonchan flew backwards with part of his face frozen solid.
"Use water pulse" Red continued, Wartortle formed a blue orb in his hands and shot it towards Hitmonchan.
"Hitmonchan watch out" Kite shouted, however, Hitmonchan struggled to see it coming due to part of his face being frozen. The orb strikes Hitmonchan in his chest exploding into a large wave covering Hitmonchan and sending him flying backwards.
Hitmonchan stood back up drenched but still able to fight.
"Hitmonchan we can't use thunder punch, so use mega punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan dashed towards Wartortle with his fist glowing bright white.
"Wartortle use aqua jet" Red commanded, Squirtle began to dash towards Hitmonchan and rocketed himself being covered with a stream of water.
"Hitmonchan use thunder punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's right fist engulfed in electricity.
The water covered Wartortle collided with the electric covered fist. The electricity covered the steam of water electrocuting Wartortle sending the water turtle flying backwards.
"Now let's try that combo, start with mega punch" Kite started, Hitmonchan dashed towards Wartortle with his fist glowing bright white.
"Wartortle get up" Red shouted, Wartortle stood back up struggling a bit.
"Quick use water pulse" Red commanded, Wartortle began forming a blue orb in his hands. However Wartortle fell back down on one knee causing the orb to deplete.
"Go Hitmonchan! Use mega thunder punch!" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan's white glowing fist became engulfed in yellow electricity that sparked into a larger blue electricity. Hitmonchan struck Wartortle with the mega thunder punch sending him flying back into a rock fainted.
"Wartortle is unable to battle" Daisuke shouted.
Red recalled Wartortle as he smirked, "My Ivysaur will take care of the rest" Red said as Ivysaur appeared on the field.
"Hitmonchan fire punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's right fist engulfed in flames as he charged towards Ivysaur.
"Ivysaur use energy ball" Red commanded, Ivysaur shot a green orb towards the dashing Hitmonchan.
"Hitmonchan dodge and keep going" Kite ordered, Hitmonchan easily avoided the green energy ball and continued to dash towards Ivysaur with a fire engulfed fist.
"Keep using energy ball" Red commanded, Ivysaur began shooting many green orbs towards Hitmonchan.
"Dodge Hitmonchan" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan began to avoid the barrage of energy balls but could not dodge the overwhelming amount and was hit by several of them which caused a large explosion.
When the smoke cleared Hitmonchan was still on one knee.
"Hitmonchan! You good?" Kite asked, Hitmonchan nodded as he stood back up on both feet ready to fight.
"Ivysaur use double-edge" Red commanded, Ivysaur darted towards Hitmonchan with a golden streak of energy following.
"Hitmonchan jump and use fire punch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's right fist engulfed in flames.
"Power whip now" Red quickly commanded.
Hitmonchan jumped over the charging Ivysaur and began to swing his fiery fist towards Ivysaur; however, Ivysaur's vine began to glow bright purple and slammed it into Hitmonchan before he could land the punch sending him flying backwards.
As Hitmonchan got back to his feet, Ivysaur slammed into him with double-edge sending Hitmonchan flying back fainted.
"Hitmonchan is unable to battle" Daisuke shouted.
"You did great Hitmonchan" Kite said as he recalled the fainted pokemon.
"Let's go Wartortle" Kite shouted as Wartortle appeared on the field.
"A battle of starters" Daisuke said.
"Ivysaur energy ball" Red commanded as Ivysaur shot a green orb towards Wartortle.
"Wartortle counter with water gun" Kite commanded, Wartortle shot a stream of water that collided with the green energy ball causing an explosion.
"Now rapid spin and water gun" Kite commanded, Wartortle withdrew into his shell and begun to spin rapidly towards Ivysaur while shooting water causing the spiraling shell to be surrounded by spiraling water.
"Ivysaur use power whip" Red commanded, Ivysaur's whips began to glow purple.
"Go around them" Kite shouted.
Ivysaur began to whip his glowing purple whips around ferociously towards Wartortle who was barely dodging each whip.
"Leaf tornado!" Red shouted, Ivysaur shot a powerful tornado of leafs at Wartortle engulfing the spinning shell.
Wartortle was now caught in the large tornado of leafs as it flew into the sky, the tornado of leafs then crashed down into the ground with Wartortle.
"Wartortle!" Kite shouted, Wartortle stood back up.
"Double-edge" Red commanded, Ivysaur charged towards Wartortle with a golden streak following.
"Jump over Ivysaur" Kite commanded, Wartortle jumped over Ivysaur barley in time avoiding the attack.
"Now use water gun" Kite continued, Wartortle shot a stream of water towards Ivysaur.
The stream of water struck Ivysaur doing nothing as he ran back towards Wartortle.
"Power whip" Red commanded, Ivysaur struck Wartortle with a powerful glowing purple vine. Ivysaur continued to whip Wartortle with his purple glowing vines.
"Finish it with a powerful energy ball" Red commanded, Ivysaur began to charge a green orb in his mouth, the green orb then began to grow larger and larger.
Ivysaur pressed the orb against the dizzy Wartortle and shot the large green energy ball point bank sending Wartortle flying with it. The energy ball took Wartortle into the air where it exploded causing Wartortle to fall back to the ground hard.
'Wartortle!" Kite shouted, Wartortle stood back up once again.
"Damn, use energy ball again" Red ordered, Ivysaur shot another large green orb towards Wartortle.
"Use water pulse" Kite commanded, Wartortle formed a blue orb in his hands and shot it towards the green energy ball.
The blue orb and the green orb collided causing an explosion.
"Ivysaur double-edge" Red ordered, Ivysaur darted towards Wartortle once again with a golden streak following.
"Wartortle jump and use aqua tail" Kite commanded, Wartortle jumped in the air as his tail was covered by spiraling water.
Wartortle's tail collided with Ivysaur but was overpowered by the strong grass pokemon sending Wartortle flying backwards.
"Leaf tornado" Red ordered, Ivysaur shot a large tornado of leafs towards Wartortle. The tornado of leafs grabbed Wartortle and took him into the air.
"Use a massive energy ball!" Red shouted, Ivysaur began to charge a large green orb.
The tornado of leafs began to fall towards the ground with Wartortle caught in the middle of the tornado.
"Fire!" Red shouted, Ivysaur shot the large green energy ball with perfect timing. The leaf tornado crashed right into the green energy ball causing a large explosion causing the area to be rained upon by leaves.
"It's over" Red smirked.
Just then a bright glowing white light could be seen within the smoke.
The smoke cleared with the roar of a larger bi-pedal tortoise pokemon, two cannons were coming out of the turtle's shell right above the arms.
"It evolved." Kite said in shock and awe.
"What?" Red said in shock and dismay.
"That's Blastoise" Daisuke said in awe.
"That's amazing" Green said in awe as well.
"No matter, Ivysaur double edge" Red quickly ordered, Ivysaur darted towards Blastoise with a golden streak following.
"Blastoise is much bigger, use rapid spin" Kite commanded, the large turtle pokemon withdrew into his shell and began to spin rapidly towards Ivysaur.
"I see you learned a new move" Kite said as he was looking at his pokedex. The two pokemon collided causing both of them to fly back.
Blastoise got back up looking unharmed, Ivysaur fell on two of his legs.
"Damn" Red started.
"Using double-edge too much, I know about its recoil effect. Ivysaur has been taking a lot from it" Kite smirked.
"No biggie, Ivysaur use energy ball" Red commanded, Ivysaur shot a green orb towards Blastoise.
"Blastoise use rapid spin" Kite commanded, Blastoise withdrew into his large shell and began to spin rapidly towards Ivysaur dodging the green energy ball.
"Use aqua tail" Kite commanded, Blastoise's tail popped out of the shell covered in spiraling water. Blastoise used the momentum of the rapid spin and slammed his tail into Ivysaur sending him flying back.
"Ivysaur power whip" Red shouted, Ivysaur struggled to get up but managed to charge towards Blastoise while his vines began to glow bright purple.
"Blastoise stay in your shell" Kite ordered, Ivysaur began to ferociously whip his purple vines against Blastoise's large shell doing nothing.
"Now hydro cannon!" Kite shouted, Blastoise's two cannons popped out of the shell and began to each charge a large blue orb.
"Ivysaur use…" Red started but was interrupted by Kite.
"Fire!" Kite shouted, Blastoise shot the two orbs forming into one large blue orb colliding with Ivysaur causing a large explosion.
"Ivysaur is unable to battle, which means Red is out of pokemon. Therefore, Kite is the winner!" Daisuke shouted throwing his fist into the air with excitement.
"That was intense" Kite said taking a deep breath walking up to Blastoise.
"You did great" Kite said as he patted Blastoise on the shell and recalled him into his pokeball.
Daisuke and Green ran up to Kite congratulating him.
Red recalled Ivysaur and looked at his pokeball but Red's hat covered his eyes. "I'll try harder Ivysaur" Red said to the pokeball as he smiled.
"Good fight" Kite said as he walked up to Red.
Kite held his hand out for Red to shake.
"Yea" Red said as he shook Kite's hand.
"But next time I will win" Red said as he smirked letting go of Kite's hand.
"Sis, have fun on your travels with these two" Red smiled towards her as he walked away.
"That was weird, he seemed completely different." Green said.
"Maybe he had a realization" Daisuke suggested.
The three just stood there before electing to go back to the pokemon center in to rest for the night.
"Here you go, but you should let your pokemon rest for the night" Nurse Joy smiled as she handed Kite a tray with his six pokeballs. Kite thanked her as he put his pokeballs up.
"I think we should rest here for the night and continue towards Fuschia" Kite suggested.
"I agree" Daisuke said.
"Sweet let's get some rooms then" Kite said.
"I think it is great that they have more of these pokemon centers around now instead of just in towns." Green smiled as they each got a room key.
"Well, I will see you all in the morning" Kite said as they each nodded and walked to their individual rooms.
