Chapter 33: Fuchsia, City of Ninjas!
The trio ate breakfast the next morning after obtaining their healed pokemon from Nurse Joy.
The group exited the Pokemon Center and went back to the bridge Snorlax had occupied.
"Alright all that is left is Route 15 and we are in Fuchsia" Daisuke said pointing down the path leading towards the city.
"I heard Fuchsia is an interesting town" Green said.
"Yea apparently it is a historic village, one of the oldest in Kanto" Daisuke explained.
"I hear that many people dress like that in the feudal era" Daisuke continued.
"That is interesting" Kite chimed in.
The group made it down the path until they finally reached the entrance of the city, the sign read 'Fuchsia City, a historic village that has become new.'
"See, historic village" Daisuke said gesturing towards the sign.
The trio entered the village and noticed instantly how historic they really are, everything in the city looked like the Edo time period of Japan.
Some of the town's people were even dressed like that time period as well.
"Wow, this town does feel really old fashioned" Green said in amazement.
"Hello! Welcome to Fuchsia, are you trainers?" A beautiful middle-aged woman wearing a kimono said.
"Yes, we are here to battle the gym leader!" Kite said with determination.
"I see! Well the gym is further down, it is also called the Ninja Dojo." The women said as she smiled.
"However, I do believe Janine is currently not here, but there are plenty of trainers that always train at the dojo. You could probably train while you wait for her." The women continued.
"Sounds good" Daisuke said as the group continued down the main road.
As the group continued down the main road of the city the buildings they were approaching became newer and nicer.
"This must be the newer side of town" Daisuke commented as the group was noticing all the large and new buildings.
"So they still keep the old historic buildings around and just built the new buildings around them" Kite chimed in.
"Some people even continue to dress old fashioned, while others dress in the current style. A very interesting town indeed" Green added still amazed.
"Oh well, let's go to the gym!" Daisuke shouted in excitement.
"Man but I'm sick of these gym leaders always being gone" Kite said annoyed.
"Well let's go kick some other trainer's butts in the meantime" Daisuke said clenching his fist.
"Fine I guess I could use a warm up" Kite smirked.
"Where is this dojo?" Daisuke questioned looking around.
"I'm guessing it's that building" Green said pointing at a very old dojo looking building that was in between two large new looking buildings, there was a sign that said 'Kanto League Gym: Ninja Dojo' in front of the old building.
The trio walked in to the dojo, however there seemed to be nobody else around, all the lights were off as well.
"Hello? Anybody home?" Daisuke started shouting through the dojo.
"Nobody is even here to battle" Kite said a little disappointed.
The trio then walked into the main room where it was just a wide open battlefield.
"This must be where you challenge the gym leader" Green said.
Just then the flooring began to move and in the flash of an eye a bunch of ninjas in blue jumped out of nowhere and surrounded the three.
"Ambush!" Daisuke unnecessarily shouted.
"Welcome to the Ninja Dojo! Also known as the Fuchsia City Gym!" A man shouted as he suddenly jumped in front of the group.
"My name is Phil, I am Janine's right hand!" Phil said proudly.
"Now what can I do for you three?" Phil continued.
"My name is Daisuke, he is Kite, and she is Green" Daisuke introduced the group.
"Daisuke and I would like a gym battle" Kite chimed in.
"I see, well that is fine, once Janine gets back" Phil exclaimed.
"Which will be?" Kite questioned.
"Most likely this afternoon" Phil said.
"But in the meantime, you two may battle my men and I" Phil smirked.
"Then let's begin" Kite said locking eyes with Phil.
"Hey what's that commotion outside?" Green questioned as she walked towards the door.
Just then the door of the dojo busted open and many ninjas dressed in black began to file in the dojo.
"What's the meaning of this?" Phil shouted at the ninjas in black.
"Who are they?" Daisuke questioned.
"They are a rival ninja school, their dojo is located in the woods" Phil explained.
One of the ninjas began approaching the group, the ninja then unveiled his face revealing he was a middle-aged man.
"That's Edgar! When Koga was the gym leader here, Edgar was his right hand" Phil explained.
"Correct, then when his daughter took over she kicked me out" Edgar chimed in with resentment behind his tone.
"That's because you were trying to constantly take her spot!" Phil argued.
"Because I should have been the next gym leader!" Edgar shouted.
"Koga chose Janine for a reason!" Phil stated.
The look in Edgar's eyes changed as he just smirked, "Where is she?" Edgar asked.
"Gone." Phil stated bluntly.
Edgar locked eyes with Phil, "I guess I will take over until she gets back" Edgar said grabbing a pokeball.
Phil reached for a pokeball as well.
"What's about to happen?" Green said startled.
"Who are they?" Edgar questioned.
"Challengers" Phil said.
"Great, my first opponents for when I take over" Edgar smirked.
"Let's go men!" Edgar and Phil shouted in unison.
"Let's go Weezing!" Phil shouted throwing his pokeball and Weezing appeared on the field.
"Dodrio go!" Edgar shouted as the large three headed bird appeared from its pokeball.
Just then all the ninjas each threw a pokeball out onto the main room. Daisuke, Kite, and Green rushed out of the main room a watched the madness from a far.
All the ninja's in blue each had Venonats, the ninja's in black each had Doduos. The ninja's in black began to breakout with cruel laughter.
"What's with them?" Green began to shiver.
"Well, it appears that Doduo has the type advantage over Venonat. This won't go smoothly for the ones in blue" Daisuke explained.
The Doduo's began to peck viciously at the Venonat's causing them to faint one by one until they were all fainted.
"Crap, I knew it" Daisuke griped.
"Let's help" Kite said grabbing a pokeball.
"Agreed" Daisuke said grabbing a pokeball as well.
The Doduo's began to charge at the ninja's in blue.
"Pikachu use thunderbolt" Kite shouted as Pikachu appeared from his pokeball, Pikachu jumped in front of the Doduos and shot as many bolts as there was twin headed birds.
Each of the Doduos was struck by a bolt of electricity and all fell fainted.
"Guess you didn't even need my help" Daisuke laughed.
"So you want to get in my way then" Edgar growled.
"Dodrio use drill peck" Edgar commanded, each beak of Dodrio began to glow a bright white and spin rapidly. Dodrio dashed suddenly in front of Weezing and began to viciously peck at Weezing with its rapid spinning beaks. Weezing flew backwards fainted.
"Weezing!" Phil shouted in dismay.
"All I have left is my Venonat, but he is no match" Phil said defeated.
"I'll take care of him" Kite said determined.
"Pikachu use volt tackle" Kite commanded, Pikachu shot towards Dodrio at lightning speed while becoming surrounded by electricity.
"Dodrio agility" Edgar commanded, Dodrio easily avoided the volt tackle.
Pikachu was hurt from the recoil.
"Dodrio use tri attack" Edgar commanded, each head of Dodrio opened their mouths, the one on the right began charging electricity, the one in the middle began charging fire, and the one on the left began charging ice.
The three then shot their respective beams of thunderbolt, flamethrower, and ice beam. The three attacks combined into one attack and strike Pikachu causing an explosion sending the electric Pokémon flying backwards.
"Pikachu!" Kite shouted.
"And you want to challenge the gym, you're a pathetic trainer" Edgar shouted.
"Let me show you then why I will win" Kite shouted as he began to reach for his other pokeballs.
"Venomoth use psybeam" A mysterious girl voice commanded, just then a multi-colored beam strikes Dodrio in the back causing the three headed bird to screech in pain.
"Dodrio!" Edgar shouted as he looked for the cause of the attack.
Just then a young looking girl with purple air dressed in ninja gear appeared in front of the group along with her Venomoth.
"Janine!" Phil shouted with joy.
"Edgar, I can never leave town without you trying to take over my gym" Janine sighed.
"It's my gym!" Edgar shouted.
"Then prove it" Janine smirked.
Edgar's facial expression was very angry now, "Dodrio use tri attack full power!" Edgar shouted.
The three heads shot their respective attacks of thunderbolt, flamethrower, and ice beam. The three attacks combined into one blasting towards Janine and Venomoth.
Janine smirked, "Venomoth use poison dart" Janine commanded.
Venomoth shot at lightning speed towards the attack while being surrounded by a purple energy where only Venomoth's after image could be seen.
The purple covered Venomoth easily maneuvered around the tri attack striking Dodrio right in the bird's body sending it flying through the dojo wall landing outside fainted.
"Dodrio?" Edgar said in shock and dismay.
"Men retreat!" Edgar shouted as he recalled his fainted pokemon. The ninja's in black did the same and retreated with their master.
"Wow, I've never seen the move poison dart in action" Daisuke said in awe.
"Yea that was an interesting move" Kite added.
"It is essentially the poison type version of volt tackle" Daisuke continued to explain.
"I see, that makes me even more pumped to battle Janine" Kite said in excitement.
"So who will I be battling today?" Janine asked as she approached the group.
"Daisuke and I" Kite said pointing to the both him and Daisuke.
"I see, so show me why you aren't pathetic" Janine winked as she inferred Kite.
"I will" Kite smirked as he locked eyes with Janine.
