Chapter 34: The Queen of Poison! Pt. 1
"The following match will be between Janine the gym leader and Kite the challenger. The match will be 3 on 3 and only the challenger may substitute pokemon. Winner will be decided once either side's pokemon have been completely defeated" Phil shouted.
Kite and Janine stared each other down on their respective side of the battlefield.
"This is strange, usually you go first Daisuke" Green stated.
"Yea well I didn't bother saying anything, Kite had that fire in his eyes" Daisuke explained.
"Weezing let's go" Janine shouted as Weezing appeared on the battlefield.
"Magmar I'm counting on you" Kite shouted as Magmar appeared on the battlefield.
"Let the battle begin!" Phil shouted.
"Magmar use flame burst" Kite commanded, Magmar shot a large ball of fire into the air.
The ball of fire then exploded into many bullets of fire raining down towards Weezing.
"Weezing dodge" Janine commanded, Weezing began avoiding each of the bullets of flame raining down on him.
"Fire punch go!" Kite commanded, Magmar's fist engulfed in flames as he charged towards Weezing.
Magmar struck Weezing with the fiery fist in his larger head sending the poison pokemon flying backwards.
"Let's keep it up Magmar, fire punch" Kite commanded, Magmar engulfed his fist in flames and charged towards Weezing.
"Weezing dodge" Janine commanded, Weezing quickly shot upwards avoiding Magmar's fiery fist.
"Now sludge bomb" Janine commanded, both the heads of Weezing shot large brown balls of sludge at Magmar.
The sludge globs struck Magmar causing an explosion, when the smoke cleared Magmar was on one knee.
"Now slam" Janine commanded, Weezing flew towards Magmar and struck the fire pokemon with full force causing him to fly backwards.
"Magmar!" Kite shouted in dismay.
"Use slam again" Janine commanded, Weezing flew towards Magmar once more.
"Hang in there Magmar, use smokescreen" Kite shouted, Magmar shot black smoke out of his mouth covering the field and causing Weezing to stop the charge.
"Magmar use fire punch" Kite commanded.
"Weezing sludge bomb" Janine commanded.
The two trainers stood anxiously as the smoke was slowly dissipating.
Just then the smoke was cleared partially due to the fact that Magmar sent Weezing flying into the air with a fire punch.
"Great job Magmar" Kite shouted.
"Now use flame burst" Kite commanded, Magmar shot a large ball of fire towards the free falling Weezing.
However, the ball of fire missed the Weezing flying past the poison pokemon.
"Looks like you missed" Janine laughed.
"Never assume!" Kite shouted, just then the ball of fire then burst into four large streaks of fire that slammed into Weezing sending the poison pokemon crashing into the ground causing a fiery explosion.
When the smoke cleared, Weezing was fainted.
"Weezing is unable to battle" Phil shouted.
"Way to go Magmar" Kite shouted with joy.
"Good fight Weezing" Janine said as she recalled her pokemon.
"Muk let's go" Janine shouted as Muk appeared on the field.
"Magmar can you continue?" Kite questioned.
"Magmar!" Magmar shouted with determination, Kite smirked.
"Magmar use flame burst" Kite commanded, Magmar shot a large ball of fire towards Muk.
"Muk use sludge bomb" Janine ordered, Muk shot a large brown ball of sludge towards the ball of fire.
The fire ball burst into four streaks of flame, one collided with the ball of sludge, while the other three were flying towards Muk.
"Muk dodge by jumping in the air" Janine commanded, Muk shot up into the air avoiding the streaks of flame.
"Wow that Muk can move" Daisuke commented.
"Now use body slam" Janine commanded, Muk began to free fall quickly towards Magmar.
"Magmar dodge" Kite commanded, Magmar jumped back avoiding Muk who slammed into the ground.
"Fire punch now" Kite quickly ordered, Magmar's fist engulfed in flames.
"Muk poison jab" Janine quickly ordered as well, Muk's fist engulfed in a bright purple.
The two pokemon clashed fist causing an explosion and both of them to fly backwards.
"Magmar use fire spin" Kite commanded, Magmar unleashed a large spinning tornado of flame towards Muk.
"Muk use sludge wave" Janine commanded, Muk formed a purple ball of sludge in his mouth and began to swirl it around.
Muk then shot a large purple wave of sludge towards the spinning tornado of fire.
The two attacks clashed and caused a large explosion covering the field in smoke.
"Muk, poison jab" Janine ordered, just then Muk appeared in front of Magmar with his fist engulfed in purple.
"So fast!" Kite shouted, Muk struck Magmar in the gut with the bright purple engulfed fist.
"Again" Janine continued, Muk's other fist engulfed in bright purple striking Magmar in the face sending the fire pokemon flying backwards.
"Now use body slam" Janine commanded, Muk jumped very high in the air.
"Magmar dodge!" Kite shouted, however, Magmar could barely stand due to the blows he has just endured.
Muk crashed into Magmar causing the fire pokemon to faint.
"Magmar is unable to battle" Phil shouted.
"Good job Magmar" Kite complimented as he recalled his defeated pokemon.
"Pikachu let's go" Kite shouted as Pikachu appeared on the field.
"Now use thunderbolt" Kite commanded, Pikachu shot a large bolt of electricity towards Muk.
"Muk dodge" Janine commanded, Muk shot up in the air avoiding the bolt of electricity.
"Pikachu quick attack then jump" Kite quickly ordered, Pikachu shot lighting quick gaining speed and jumping high into the air towards the free falling Muk.
"Got you, Muk use body slam" Janine commanded, Muk began to fall faster towards the incoming Pikachu.
"Pikachu roll" Kite commanded, Pikachu curled up and began to roll in mid-air.
Pikachu nearly avoided Muk barely rolling over the poison pokemon.
"Iron tail go!" Kite quickly shouted, Pikachu's tail was engulfed in steel, Pikachu now barely above Muk flung his tail downwards crashing it into Muk's face sending the poison pokemon flying towards the ground.
Muk slammed the ground hard while Pikachu landed on his feet.
"Pikachu volt tackle" Kite shouted, Pikachu shot towards Muk at lightning speed while being covered in electricity.
"Muk dodge" Janine ordered, however, Muk could barely move due to his impact just now.
Pikachu the slammed into Muk with volt tackle sending the poison pokemon crashing into the wall behind Janine fainted. Pikachu was hurt a bit from the recoil.
"Muk is unable to battle" Phil shouted.
"Nice try Muk" Janine smiled as she recalled her pokemon.
"Let's see how you fair against my strongest. Venomoth let's go!" Janine shouted, Venomoth appeared on the field and began flying around very quickly.
"Pikachu use thunderbolt" Kite commanded, Pikachu shot a large bolt of electricity towards Venomoth.
Venomoth easily avoided the attack.
"Were you really expecting to hit my Venomoth with that?" Janine giggled, Kite got a little annoyed.
"Pikachu use quick attack" Kite commanded, Pikachu shot towards Venomoth at lighting speed.
"Venomoth use poison powder" Janine commanded, Venomoth flew past the dashing Pikachu while releasing a purple powder over the electric pokemon.
Pikachu had purple static flowing over his body indicating he was poisoned.
"Oh no he is poisoned" Green shouted in dismay.
Pikachu squealed in pain from the poison effect.
"Guess that is too much for him" Janine smirked.
"Venomoth use steel wing" Janine commanded, Venomoth's wings turned steel and the bug pokemon shot towards Pikachu who was having trouble standing back on two feet.
Venomoth struck the struggling Pikachu with his steel wings sending Pikachu flying backwards.
"Again" Janine ordered, Venomoth swooped back around while his wings were still metal.
"Pikachu use iron tail to counter" Kite commanded, Pikachu stood up despite the pain from the previous attack and the poison.
Pikachu's tail turned into steel. Pikachu then whipped his tail around just as Venomoth was swooping in with his steel wings.
Venomoth's steel wing clash with Pikachu's steel tail which caused a loud ringing noise of clashing metal throughout the gym.
Both pokemon were flown back unharmed from the clash.
"Venomoth use poison dart full speed" Janine commanded, Venomoth began to glow bright purple and disappeared in the blink of an eye and all could be seen was a purple streak flying around so quickly.
Before Kite could react Pikachu was struck by the bug pokemon and sent flying backwards in pain.
Pikachu managed to stand but was then struck by the ongoing poison effect which caused Pikachu to squeal in pain.
"Poison dart again" Janine commanded, Venomoth began to glow bright purple.
"Pikachu quick use volt tackle" Kite commanded, Pikachu shot towards Venomoth at lightning quick speed while being surrounded by large amounts of electricity.
"Pikachu is putting all he's got into this" Daisuke commented.
Venomoth disappeared in the blink of an eye again, the bug pokemon appeared right in front of Pikachu colliding with the electric pokemon causing an explosion.
When the smoke cleared Venomoth was seen still flying in the air while Pikachu was barely standing.
Pikachu was then struck with the recoil effect from the volt tackle and the poison effect which caused the mouse pokemon to faint.
"Pikachu is unable to battle" Phil shouted.
"Pikachu good job" Kite smiled as he recalled his pokemon.
"So which pokemon are you going to put all your faith into?" Janine questioned.
"I have faith in all my pokemon! They always come through for me!" Kite shouted.
"Let's go Hitmonchan!" Kite shouted as Hitmonchan took the field.
"A fighting type? That is very unwise seeing how fighting types are not very effective against both poison and bug types. Your fighting type moves are virtually useless against Venomoth" Janine stated.
"Who said Hitmonchan knew only fighting type moves?" Kite smirked.
"Let's end this quick, Venomoth use poison dart" Janine commanded, Venomoth glowed a bright purple and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"Hitmonchan watch…" Kite was interrupted by Venomoth slamming into Hitmonchan sending the fighting pokemon flying backwards.
"Steel wing" Janine continued, Venomoth flew towards Hitmonchan while his wings turned into steel.
"Hitmonchan use fire punch, both fists" Kite commanded, both Hitmonchan's fist engulfed in flames.
Hitmonchan swung both fiery fists at the incoming Venomoth colliding with both the bug pokemon's steel wings.
Hitmonchan over powered Venomoth knocking the bug back a bit.
"Now use thunderpunch" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan's fist engulfed in electricity and Hitmonchan struck Venomoth dead on sending the bug pokemon flying backwards.
"I see using a fire type move to overpower a steel type move, very clever" Janine complimented
"Nice move Kite" Daisuke and Green shouted in unison.
"Venomoth, end this with poison dart!" Janine commanded, Venomoth began to glow bright purple.
"Hitmonchan, Pikachu's attacks were not in vain, they weakened that bug. Let's avenge our friends with one final move, let's try another combo!" Kite commanded, Hitmonchan held his right fist in the air, it began to glow bright white.
"Full speed go!" Janine shouted, Venomoth disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"Hitmonchan give it all you got, mega fire punch!" Kite shouted, Hitmonchan's fist glowed even brighter and engulfed in large orange and yellow sizzling flame.
Venomoth appeared in front of Hitmonchan, however, Hitmonchan swung his fist down faster slamming Venomoth into the ground with a ferocious punch that also sizzled the bug pokemon.
Venomoth was fainted.
"Venomoth is unable to battle, Janine is out of usable pokemon. Therefore, Kite the challenger is the winner!" Phil shouted.
"Good job Hitmonchan!" Kite shouted as he ran and gave his pokemon a pat on the back.
"Way to go man" Daisuke complimented.
"Yea good job" Green also complimented.
"That was rather impressive" Janine said as she walked towards the trio.
"Here is the soul badge" Janine said as she handed Kite a pink heart looking badge.
"Alright the soul badge! Another one down" Kite said joyfully.
"Now it's my turn" Daisuke chimed in.
"Well give me 2 hours to rest" Janine said as she walked away.
Daisuke stood their feeling dissed.
"Well man, now you know why going second sucks" Kite stated.
"For real, the anticipation is getting me more and more pumped" Daisuke said clenching his fist.
"Well let's go eat for now" Green smiled.
"You're right, I need to rest my pokemon" Kite said.
The trio left the gym and headed for the Pokemon Center in await for Daisuke's gym match against Janine which is set to take place in two hours.
