Chapter 35: The Queen of Poison! Pt. 2
Two hours passed as Daisuke burst through the Pokemon Center doors.
"Let's go win a badge!" Daisuke shouted with anticipation holding his fists in the air.
The trio walked backed into the ninja dojo gym.
"So are you ready?" Janine said appearing in front of the group and referring to Daisuke.
"Always" Daisuke said with determination.
Janine smirked and the two trainers took their sides as Kite and Green sat in the stands.
"The following match will be between Janine the gym leader and Daisuke the challenger. The match will be 3 on 3 and only the challenger may substitute pokemon. Winner will be decided once either side's pokemon have been completely defeated" Phil shouted.
"Golbat let's go!" Janine shouted as Golbat appeared on the field.
"Charmeleon you're up!" Daisuke shouted as Charmeleon appeared on the field.
"Let the battle begin!" Phil shouted.
"Charmeleon use smoke screen" Daisuke commanded, Charmeleon covered the battlefield with smoke.
"Golbat use air cutter" Janine commanded, Golbat's wings started to glow a bright blue.
Golbat began to flap his wings ferociously which began to clear away some smoke allowing Golbat to see where Charmeleon was.
Golbat unleashed two large light blue energy crescents that shot towards Charmeleon.
The smoke around the crescents cleared away as they struck Charmeleon in the chest causing him to fly backwards.
"Golbat use poison fang" Janine commanded, Golbat's fangs began to glow bright purple as he charged towards Charmeleon.
Golbat bit Charmeleon in the shoulder with his purple glowing fangs causing an explosion.
Charmeleon was sent flying back shouting in pain.
Charmeleon then was surrounded by purple electricity for a second indicating he had been poisoned.
"Crap" Daisuke thought to himself.
"Charmeleon use metal claw" Daisuke commanded, Charmeleon's claws turned into metal as the lizard pokemon charged towards Golbat.
"Golbat air cutter" Janine commanded, Golbat's wings began to glow a bright blue as the bat pokemon began to flap his wings ferociously.
Golbat sent two large blue energy crescents towards the charging Charmeleon. Charmeleon managed to avoid the two crescents.
Charmeleon then slashed Golbat with his metal claws causing the bat pokemon to go flying backwards.
Charmeleon was damaged by the poison effect.
"Golbat use confuse ray" Janine ordered, Golbat shot a bright purple beam that struck Charmeleon. Charmeleon's eyes turned red indicated he was confused.
"Now he is confused?! Just what I needed…" Daisuke thought to himself.
"Charmeleon use metal claw" Daisuke commanded, Charmeleon looked around confusingly and began to charge dragon rage. Charmeleon shot the blue and black dragon looking beam, except he shot the blast into the ground right below him creating an explosion causing Charmeleon to fly backwards.
"Use air cutter" Janine commanded, Golbat's wings began to glow bright blue as he was flapping them. Golbat shot two large bright blue energy crescents towards Charmeleon. The crescents struck the lizard pokemon in his chest causing Charmeleon to fly backwards. As Charmeleon stood back up, he was damaged by the poison effect.
"Charmeleon snap out of hit!" Daisuke shouted, just then Charmeleon fell to one knee grabbing his head in pain.
"Let's end this Golbat, air cutter!" Janine shouted, Golbat began to flap his glowing bright blue wings ferociously sending two even larger bright blue energy crescents towards Charmeleon.
"Charmeleon! Come on, metal claw!" Daisuke shouted, at that moment, Charmeleon snapped out of confusion and stood back up. Charmeleon's claws turned into metal and he struck each crescent with each claw redirecting the crescents into the dojo walls.
"Way to go!" Daisuke said with joy, Charmeleon looked back and gave a smile to his trainer.
"Good job in redirecting that attack" Janine complemented.
"But Golbat will end this, use Acrobatics" Janine commanded, Golbat began to fly very quickly around the dojo to the point where you could only see an afterimage of Golbat.
"So fast" Daisuke thought to himself, just then Golbat began to hit Charmeleon numerous times as the bat pokemon was flying circles around Charmeleon.
Golbat continued to strike Charmeleon rapidly, even increasing the speed which meant increasing the number of strikes. Golbat ended the assault with one final strike to Charmeleon's chest sending the fire pokemon flying backwards.
Charmeleon was then damaged by the poison effect.
Charmeleon stood back up with fire in his eyes, just then the flame on Chameleons tail became much larger, Charmeleon then shot a large streak of powerful flame that busted through the dojo ceiling.
"Wow! Charmeleon's ability blaze just kicked in!" Daisuke said with excitement.
"Charmeleon use flamethrower" Daisuke commanded, Charmeleon shot a very large and powerful streak of flame towards Golbat.
"Golbat use acrobatics" Janine ordered, Golbat began to fly around very fast to where you could see an afterimage. Golbat flew around the large streak of flame.
"Charmeleon jump back and get ready for metal claw" Daisuke ordered, Charmeleon jumped back avoiding Golbat. Golbat flew around to go back for another strike as Charmeleon's claws turned into metal.
"Let's go for a new combo move, shoot your claws with flame" Daisuke ordered, Charmeleon shot flame on his metal claws which caused them to ignite with a very large flame.
Charmeleon, with his flame engulfed metal claws, charged towards the incoming Golbat.
Charmeleon jumped in the air to meet Golbat, both pokemon struck with their respective attacks and flying past one another.
Charmeleon landed but fell to one knee as well as getting struck with the poison effect.
However, Golbat burst into flames for a brief second indicating the bat pokemon has the burn effect and was damaged from it.
"One more combo Charmeleon, start charging dragon rage" Daisuke ordered, Charmeleon inhaled and began to charge to move.
"Golbat fly above Charmeleon quick" Janine commanded, Golbat flew straight above Charmeleon.
"Now Charmeleon! Flaming Dragon Rage!" Daisuke shouted, Charmeleon opened his mouth as the blue and black orb of energy burst into flames, Charmeleon then shot a flaming dragon shaped beam upwards towards Golbat.
"Use air cutter quickly" Janine ordered, Golbat quickly flapped its wings fast enough to send off two light blue energy crescents towards Charmeleon.
The crescents flew around the dragon shaped beam avoiding the attack and heading for Charmeleon.
"Charmeleon go!" Daisuke shouted, Charmeleon's flaming tail grew much larger as the fire pokemon exerted more flame making the flaming dragon shaped beam even larger.
The large flaming dragon shaped beam engulfed Golbat and crashed through the dojo ceiling causing a big hole.
The two energy crescents then struck Charmeleon causing an explosion.
Golbat then fell back into the dojo and crashed into the ground fainted. When the smoke cleared around Charmeleon, the lizard pokemon was fainted.
"Both pokemon are unable to battle!" Phil shouted.
"Great job Charmeleon" Daisuke said as he recalled his pokemon.
"Way to battle Golbat" Janine said as she recalled her pokemon.
"Now it is time for Arbok" Janine shouted as Arbok appeared on the field, the snake pokemon hissed violently towards Daisuke.
"She is in the mood to battle" Janine smirked.
"Alright Sandslash you are up" Daisuke shouted as Sandslash appeared scraping his claws together.
"Sandslash use gyro ball" Daisuke ordered, Sandslash curled up and began to spin so fast that a green ring surround Sandslash's spinning body. Sandslash shot towards Arbok.
"Arbok use poison tail" Janine commanded, Arbok, as her tail begins to glow a bright purple, started to slither towards the rapidly spinning Sandslash.
Arbok's purple glowing tail clashed with the rapidly spinning Sandslash causing both pokemon to fly backwards seemingly unharmed.
"Arbok quick use poison sting" Janine quickly commanded, the snake pokemon shot many bright purple poison needles towards Sandslash.
"Sandslash dodge, then use focus punch" Daisuke ordered, Sandslash avoided the poison needles and began to charge his right claw which was glowing bright blue.
"Like I'd let you charge that move, Arbok use poison tail" Janine ordered, Arbok quickly slithered towards Sandslash slamming her bright glowing purple tail into the ground type pokemon's chest sending him flying backwards.
"Sandslash you good?" Daisuke questioned as his pokemon stood back up nodding his head.
"Great now use fury swipes" Daisuke ordered, Sandslash's claws grew in size and intensity while glowing bright red.
Sandslash charged towards Arbok very quickly, "Since fury swipes is a bug type move, the damage will double against poison type pokemon" Daisuke thought to himself while smirking.
"Arbok use acid spray" Janine commanded, Arbok shot a purple colored beam of poison towards the charging Sandslash.
Sandslash narrowly avoided the beam stumbling in the process.
"Now use poison tail" Janine continued, Arbok quickly slithered towards the stumbling Sandslash while her tail glowed a bright purple.
Arbok slammed her bright purple glowing tail into Sandslash sending the porcupine pokemon flying backwards.
"Now quickly use poison fang" Janine quickly ordered, Arbok appeared in front of Sandslash with her fangs growing in size and glowing a bright purple.
"Sandslash!" Daisuke shouted as Arbok bit Sandslash in the stomach avoiding the porcupine pokemon's spikes on his back.
Just then Sandslash raised his right claw and it grew and size and sparked with white sparks.
Sandslash then slammed the glowing white sparking claw into Arbok's back slamming the snake pokemon into the ground hard.
"Whoa! That was crush claw" Daisuke stood amazed as he checked his pokedex.
"Looks like it replaced focus punch" Daisuke said closing his pokedex putting it away.
"That was a bit shocking" Janine said as Arbok struggled getting up.
"Arbok use acid spray again" Janine ordered, Arbok shot a large bright purple beam of poison towards Sandslash.
"Sandslash use gyro ball to avoid" Daisuke quickly ordered, Sandslash curled up and began to spin rapidly as a green ring surrounded his body.
Sandslash avoided he bright purple beam by spinning into the air.
"Arbok quick into the air" Janine quickly ordered, Arbok used her tail to spring herself towards Sandslash.
"Go acid spray" Janine shouted, Arbok shot the bright purple beam of poison straight at the midair spinning Sandslash.
The beam engulfed the spinning pokemon and exploded midair, however Sandslash shot out of the smoke still spinning fast seemingly unharmed.
"No way" Janine said shocked.
"No matter, spin and then use poison tail" Janine shouted, Arbok began to spin in midair while her tail was glowing a bright purple.
"Sandslash stop spinning" Daisuke ordered, Sandslash stopped spinning and stabilized in midair.
"Now is your chance" Janine shouted, Arbok used the momentum of spinning to give her tail a boost as she flung it towards the wide open Sandslash.
"Quick use crush claw" Daisuke quickly shouted, Sandslash raised his white claw as it began to glow white and spark.
Sandslash slammed his claw downwards on Arbok's tail canceling out her poison tail attack leaving Arbok open.
"Now use fury swipes!" Daisuke shouted, Sandslash's claws grew in size and began to glow a bright red. Sandslash began ferociously slashing Arbok as both pokemon were still in midair.
"Arbok!" Janine shouted in dismay as her snake pokemon was getting slashed repeatedly.
"Now end it with focus blast!" Daisuke commanded, Sandslash raised both claws over his head a formed a ball of light blue energy.
Sandslash then slammed the ball of energy downwards on Arbok's back, the ball of energy crashed Arbok into the ground causing a large blue energy explosion in the shape of a dome.
Sandslash landed on his feet but was struck with the poison effect.
When the smoke cleared from the explosion, Arbok was fainted.
"Arbok is unable to battle!" Phil shouted.
"Nice moves" Janine complimented as she recalled her pokemon.
"It was all Sandslash" Daisuke said as he gave his pokemon a pat on the head who returned with a smile. Daisuke then recalled his ground type pokemon.
"Let's see how you fair against my Venomoth" Janine shouted as Venomoth appeared on the field.
"Alright, go Pidgeotto!" Daisuke shouted as Pidgeotto appeared on the field.
"Venomoth use poison powder" Janine ordered, Venomoth shot quickly towards Pidgeotto flying over the bird while sprinkling purple powder over the field.
"Pidgeotto use gust quickly" Daisuke quickly ordered, Pidgeotto began to flap his wings very rapidly forming a large gust of wind causing the poison powder to disperse. Pidgeotto then directed the large gust of wind towards Venomoth.
Venomoth easily avoided the gust of wind.
"Nice try, Venomoth use psybeam" Janine commanded, Venomoth shot a multicolored towards Pidgeotto.
"Pidgeotto use quick attack to dodge" Daisuke commanded, Pidgeotto quickly shot straight upwards with a white streak trailing the bird. Pidgeotto avoided the beam and then shot towards Venomoth.
"Venomoth use steel wing" Janine ordered, Venomoth's wings turned into steel and the bug shot towards Pidgeotto.
Venomoth's steel wings overpowered Pidgeotto's quick attack sending the bird pokemon flying backwards.
"Now Psybeam" Janine commanded, Venomoth shot the multi colored beam towards Pidgeotto.
The beam collided with Pidgeotto in midair causing a small explosion.
"Pidgeotto!" Daisuke shouted in dismay as Pidgeotto crashed into the ground.
"Venomoth use psybeam again" Janine commanded, Venomoth shot the multi colored beam towards Pidgeotto who was struggling to get up.
"Pidgeotto dodge quickly" Daisuke ordered, Pidgeotto shot straight up avoiding the beam.
"Now use steel wing" Janine ordered, Venomoth's wings turned into steel and the bug shot towards Pidgeotto.
"Pidgeotto use gust" Daisuke ordered, Pidgeotto began to flap his wings rapidly forming a large gust of wind sending it towards the charging Venomoth.
The gust struck Venomoth and the bug was sent flying backwards.
"Venomoth use poison dart" Janine commanded, Venomoth began to glow a bright purple to where you could only see Venomoth's outline. Venomoth shot towards Pidgeotto and struck the bird sending the flying type crashing into the ground.
"Venomoth use psybeam" Janine ordered, Venomoth shot the multi colored beam towards Pidgeotto who was still lying on the ground.
The beam collided with the bird causing an explosion.
Before Daisuke could shout in dismay Pidgeotto shot out of the smoke towards Venomoth as the bird pokemon's wings turned into steel.
"Nice Pidgeotto you learned steel wing" Daisuke shouted with excitement.
"Venomoth steel wing as well" Janine ordered, Venomoth's wings turned into steel and shot towards the charging Pidgeotto.
The two pokemon clashed wings and continue to fly at each other repeatedly clashing steel wings causing loud metal ringing noise throughout the dojo.
Pidgeotto manage to overpower Venomoth and smashed his steel wing into the bug sending it flying backwards.
"Now aerial ace" Daisuke commanded, Pidgeotto shot at lightning speed with white streaks spiraling around the bird.
Pidgeotto simultaneously flew past and struck Venomoth leaving the bug wide open in midair.
"Keep at it Pidgeotto!" Daisuke shouted, Pidgeotto started to repeatedly strike Venomoth with aerial ace flying back and forth striking the bug pokemon each time faster than the next.
It looked as if Venomoth was bouncing on the air since Pidgeotto was hitting the bug so fast so many times.
Pidgeotto landed one last aerial ace sending Venomoth crashing into the ground.
Pidgeotto looked very exhausted in the air as Venomoth flew back in the air struggling to keep flight as well.
"Venomoth let's end this with poison dart" Janine shouted, Venomoth began to glow a bright purple and shot towards Pidgeotto.
"Pidgeotto use aerial ace!" Daisuke shouted, Pidgeotto shot at lightning speed, with white streaks spiraling around the bird, towards the glowing Venomoth.
The two pokemon collided in midair causing a loud explosion sending both pokemon crashing into the ground.
When the dust settled, both pokemon were out cold.
"Both pokemon are unable to battle, Gym Leader Janine is out of usable pokemon, therefore the winner of the battle is the challenger Daisuke" Phil shouted as he waved his flags down.
"Way to go Daisuke!" Green shouted from the stands.
"Great job Pidgeotto" Daisuke said smiling as he recalled his fainted Pidgeotto.
"That was a good battle" Janine said as she walked up to Daisuke.
Green and Kite came down from the stands to congratulate Daisuke.
"Nice man" Kite said as he congratulated Daisuke.
"Here is the soul badge" Janine said as she handed Daisuke the pink heart looking badge.
"Alright just two more" Daisuke said as he placed the soul badge in its respective spot in his badge case.
"Cinnabar is next" Kite said with determination.
"Well the boat for Cinnabar leaves tomorrow so I would get rested up" Janine said with a smile.
"Thanks Janine" The group said in unison as they walked out the gym.
"Good luck on your travels" Janine shouted waving at the group as they walked to the Pokemon Center in the sunset.
