Sting

For appearances only, Sesshoumaru calmly walked through the garden party until he reached the castle. Once out of sight from the others, he quickly made his way to their room. He stopped at the door and clenched his jaw at the scent of her tears. Why did this blitz of events have to happen?

He reached forward and slid open the door, reacting fast enough to catch her as she fell back towards him. She must have been leaning against the door. He looked down at her and opened his mouth to speak, but a stinging slap stopped his words.
