Chapter 69

Arygyn returned a few days later, now better informed, but still not to full extent. His mood was not improved since he'd left them a week and a half ago, if anything it had worsened.

The three small beings sat together on the giant tabletop as Gundstaff continued about his work.
For a good half hour, Arygyn raved about how he couldn't find out anything more than what he already knew and that no-one and nothing had come over the mountains from the other side…as far as his source was aware.

"So, that could mean that the Storm Hawks really have returned to The Atmos" Digger said.

"It could, or it may not. From what I know, neither they nor Cyclonis were supposed to return…at least not this soon" Arygyn returned.

"So, these Storm Hawks could be imposters, or even some Cyclonian trick" Angel stated.

Arygyn paused for a moment, looking at her intently.
"You might be right about the Cyclonian trick" he stated thoughtfully "The body of the Dark Ace was never found after Cyclonia fell. In fact, nothing was ever found of the Terra after it went ka-boom into the Wastelands"

Angel started at this new information "But, that's impossible. We were both trapped on Terra Cyclonia for weeks before we were rescued. How can the Terra be there if it was destroyed?"

"They could've just relocated" Digger put in obviously.

"But according to Piper and her maps, the other Terra's around Cyclonia are already named and populated by others not Cyclonian born" she returned just as obviously.

All of this was certainly a conundrum.
She couldn't help but think that monsters would suddenly start to appear as well as the Scooby-Doo gang.

"Was there anything else that your source told you? Anything that may have seemed strange or even not so?"

Arygyn though for a second "Well, he did say there were some shadows that crawled over the mountains one night but he said that it had been cloudy on a full moon"

"Right now, anything can be a lead in this mystery" Angel stated "But I have an idea. I've already seen her once and she didn't disclose much…but I think there was more than what she was telling"

"Who's this, eh?" Digger questioned

"The Oracle" Angel said seriously "And this time, she's going to tell me everything we need to know"

Later that night, Angel pulled the Guardian aside after plans had been made to return to the Forbidden City. She figured now was better than any time to question him in regards to her brother.

"When were you going to tell me Aerrow was my brother?!"

Arygyn was visibly taken-a-back by her demanding tone, and the fact she'd discovered something so crucial, but he had planned and practiced many variations of the same conversation…he hoped.

"I was going to tell you when you were ready, and when we knew who these people really were" he explained, pleading with the gods above that she would be accepting of his logical sounding words just as much as she was with other things.

"When I was ready?!" she snapped "When would I be ready for something like that?! When I'm holding a knife to his throat? Or when he's holding one to mine, when he finds out we're related to Cyclonis!"

She had the same demand as her brother and temper as her sister…it obviously ran in the family.
He laughed nervously.

"Maybe we should get ready to leave in the morning?" he suggested, flashing into his colourful bird form and flying off to a top shelf.

Angel huffed and growled angrily. He was so gonna get it when the chance came.
