She'd hinted at it before, had even outright declared it…but for it to truly be her reality? Untrained was one thing, but from her discomfort Kagome may be entirely untouched by human teachings.
It was remarkable. An untrained priestess with power the likes of which he had never before encountered, power that barely a day ago had coiled around him as if he were the one so utterly harmless, power which has actually welcomed him…
Well. This would simply not do.
"We will train you now then."
The girl's eyebrows drew in, furrowed in confusion. "We will?"
Youko nodded. "All kitsune breed have the capability to read auras, though there are those with particular…proclivity for it."
She laughed. "Let me guess, you're one of them."
He puffed himself up. "Of course."
He settled himself on the grassy floor, gesturing for her to do the same; it pleased him when she followed his lead without question. Although certainly not without comment.
"You sound like you're bragging." She said.
"Bragging?"
She wiggled her hand. "Showing off?"
"It is merely the truth."
"Is it hard? Reading auras?"
She was unsurprised that it was possible, which could be explained by her travels with the monk. "It is not the easiest task, but with the proper tutelage it is within every breeds' resource to do."
She nodded slowly, her mind clearly wandering. He tugged her back down. "Now. Tell me what it is you do know."
A wan smile. "Only how to fight."
The made sense—a miko's sole duty lay in her ability to combat youkai with purification, the proverbial yin to a demon's yang.
"Actually," she continued with a laugh, "it's a weirdly fitting to have a demon trying to teach me how to be a better priestess."
