The next morning she was woken up not by the glare of the sun peeking through the cave lip, or an unfamiliar grip curved around her waist –– although both were present –– but rather to the admonishing stare of a complete stranger.
Kagome blinked uncomprehendingly at the tall, dark, and something that stood at the foot of the fur pile she was currently calling hers, waiting sluggishly for either an explanation, or for her brain to catch up with what was likely a potentially frightening situation. She took in his black silk ensemble with a quirked eyebrow, and her gaze drifted down to the matching set she now wore as pyjamas.
Ah. She smiled, propping herself up on her elbows. "You must be the friend."
Somewhere to her left she heard Youko groan unintelligibly, and the youkai's startled expression smoothed into a grin at the sound.
He corrected her by leaning down into an informal bow, his voice deep and soft, and most definitely amused. "Kuronue."

AN: someone sent me a prompt a couple of chapters ago that I should introduce Kuronue, and while I had initially planned for him to come in during the second part of this little saga, what can I say, I'm susceptible to requests.
On that note (kind of) I'm glad everyone is enjoying the updates! I do have a fair few stored up, so hopefully it'll be easier to keep up with the story line. As to everyone who is complaining or commenting on the absurd chapter lengths...well, it is a story told in drabbles. I'm terribly sorry about that!
