"Imagine the possibilities!"
Kuronue was certain he was the only one who was—at least when it came to the risks. He sighed. "But a priestess? You cannot be thinking of bringing her onto the clan's compound."
Youko's lips pursed in a sulk, "She offers no threat to us."
"Her entire existence it a threat to us!"
"Not yet," he pointed out, "And not ever, if a youkai is the one to teach her."
"A demon cannot teach a priestess how to purify." But there was something in his tone the belied leniency…and definitely suggested curiosity. Kuronue did spend far too much time arounds foxes.
"Not to purify, but to control." Youko said. "And I can."
Kuronue's next sigh was one of reluctance indulgence. "A harmless priestess? It sounds…weak."
He shook his head. "Not harmless, but that she chooses not to injure unnecessarily."
"And how are you so certain of this?"
"A story."
"A story?"
Youko hummed a small agreement. "And observation. Come! You can see for yourself. She's a unique opportunity!"
Kuronue grumbled. "I cannot believe you brought a miko…"
But Youko was already halfway out the cave, his tail swishing in anticipation.
