Waking Up

He followed after her as she pulled him along, humoring her into thinking that she could actually manage to do such a feat. He glanced down at the hand holding his, taking note of the size difference between the two. Gods, she was so tiny and fragile compared to him.

"Come on, Sessh!" She called with a huff, giving his hand a tug as they approached the river. She frowned when she saw that the villagers were already sending their lanterns down the river, the soft orange hues reflecting like a sun waking from its slumber. They had to hurry!
