(A/N: Welcome back to D2L! Today's chapter is a bit special…it's a birthday special dedicated to Tsumiki-san! Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday dear!)

Previously on D2L: 'It's her birthday…someone you loved the most...huh?' Gray thought to himself. Somehow that statement made him feel a bit jealous and at the same time really annoyed. Who exactly was 'him' or 'he' supposed to be?! But come to think of it, it's better he doesn't know because if he did, that guy would be in his deathbed by now.

That aside, tomorrow was going to be a really important day…it was Lucy's birthday after all and clearly she had no plans on celebrating it. But he sure did.

Continue:

'Warm… very warm… It almost feels like… like the feeling of home that I've never had before.'A voice echoed in the distance. Wait, I know that voice –it's mine…but I wasn't saying anything. Were those my feelings? Was that how I felt?

Lucy cringed in her sleep as her head began to throb in pain rhythmically. Gradually she managed to flap her lids open and looking around she realized she really was at home. But even so, home never really gave the feeling of 'home'… Her head ached further and she noticed she was in her favorite dress. Then she remembered – she had been at the Strauss sister's party but one thing she couldn't seem to remember was how the hell she managed to get home!

That wasn't her only confusion. Her memory of the prior events just didn't seem to come to her, but the true shock was when she just happened to realize that she wasn't alone – seemingly, she had been grabbing onto a certain raven head who apparently was fast asleep, without even realizing it until this very moment.

'GRAY?! Wait…why on Earth is he in my house?' Her mind filled up with questions making her headache worsen. He looked as though he had been sitting at her bedside and just 'happened to fall asleep'. As slow as her mind was working, she only later realized that she was still holding onto him and flustered, she immediately let go.

She was even more troubled now. She wanted to remember what had happened yesterday during the party… She began to, despite her severe headache, recall with every ounce of her willpower, the events of the previous night… 'The newspaper dance...the truth or dare game…' she began to mumble as she remembered them, the memories getting clearer and clearer, 'The last thing I remember…wait… it was Gray and he was dancing with Cana.' Her heart sank again as she recalled how miserable she had felt that time. That was when it struck her – the three-fourth full bitter contents of the glass bottle that she had thought would be her savior. She face-palmed as she remembered how she had, without thinking gulped down the contents. To top it all up, there was this serious headache she was getting and now she knew she was really having a taste of what a hangover was. Her first ever experience…

But that was where her memory stopped – the rest was all in a blur. She tried really hard to recall what had happened and she really wanted to know. Her head throbbed painfully and she gave a reflex 'Ow!' which awakened the sleeping raven head, much to Lucy's relief AND disappointment; relief because she was really getting frantic and disappointment because believe it or not, she could really just stare at him like that forever…

His midnight orbs became visible and boy did he look tired… Exactly when did he sleep? He pressed his temples a bit before turning to face her, "You back to normal now?"

"Um…yeah?" She replied with uncertainty.

"Oh that's good. Um, you must be having one hell of a hangover huh? Just wait, I'll get you the remedy" He said as he walked out of the room and she didn't say a word.

Lucy pondered over the statement he had made. She was really curious now about the events that had occurred while she was, as she was beginning to accept, drunk. She put pressure on her memory and began to recall whatever she could and though it caused her a real hell of a headache, it was flashes, the memories of what happened the previous night while she wasn't in her senses began to flow through soon becoming crystal clear. Lucy's flustered face was worth seeing when she recalled how she had revealed to him her dreaded past and that one moment when they were AGAIN so damn close to kissing until Gray left it at a peck on her cheek. She placed a hand on that cheek…But her heart felt warmth when she faintly pictured the way tears had left his orbs and just knowing they were for her proved how much he truly did care.

Maybe she was right after all, she thought. Maybe he too felt something for her even if not as deeply as she did for him, it was SOMETHING right? She felt so touched that she began to cry again… never had any of the males in her past ever shown so much affection for her as Gray did. He was just…perfect. It was him, she thought… that warm feeling she had felt, like finally coming to a place she could truly call home.

Moments later, Gray returned with a cup filled with steaming hot chocolate, "It'll be best if you take a hot bath or something after this… Maybe even a pain killer would do…" He began to say but stopped as he noticed that the blonde wasn't even listening, rather she was lost in her own world but other than that, realizing she was crying again was what worried him. He dropped the cup on an end table and walked over to her.

"Luce…what happened?" He asked her, a bit of urgency in his voice but yet it was soft. Lucy looked up at him and immediately, in a swift motion wrapped her arms around him and hugged him, taking him by surprise. He calmed his speedy heart rate, the effect he was beginning to get from her, and stroked her golden locks slowly. He could get used to this, he thought.

"L-last night… I-I'm sorry I caused you trouble" She said slowly as she pulled away, eyes averted. He raised her chin up so that she was looking into his eyes…then he went closer to her. Lucy's heart took a summersault and she could feel her anxiety overcome her. W-was this it?! Was this really IT?! She closed her eyes slowly waiting… But -

"I'll only forgive you on one condition" he whispered into her ears. Lucy's eyes flew open and her eyes widened, her blush reddening in embarrassment. She had totally got that all wrong…and she prayed he hadn't noticed! Which he thankfully didn't seem to have.

"W-what condition?" She asked.

"You have to spend the full day today with M-E – me" He replied with a grin and she blushed… That was the condition? She wondered. It was probably the best condition ever!

"So, you can get all set to go. Don't forget to drink that hot chocolate and do the other things I mentioned. I'll be waiting in the living room." He said as he began to walk out of the room and stopped when he approached the door only to turn and say, "Oh and Luce?"

"Yeah…?" She replied, having regained her composure after all that.

"You know… you don't have to close your eyes when I whisper to you" he said with a smirk and then with a quick wink, he walked out. Her heart skipped a beat and she went entirely red as though it could explode any minute! Why, oh why, did he have to notice?! So much for regaining her composure, huh? Guess that's what they call the 'Gray Effect'. Then she covered her flustered face in frustration…what the hell was she thinking back there!

xXx Gray's end xXx

He sat on her sofa and began to get lost in his own thoughts…

'Hmm… even though I managed to act so calm and tease her like that… but the truth was even I felt the spark back there and if I wasn't Gray Fullbuster, I probably wouldn't have been able to hide it so easily.' He was serious about this now and he knew it… He felt a sense of possession towards her now. Then he thought, maybe he should just give up the dare…

'NO! What am I thinking?! The only reason why I even agreed to do this was for her… for Wendy… How can I leave it halfway now?' He thought to himself. He had to complete the dare, he had to get Lucy to confess to him…

'It wouldn't be so bad' he thought, 'it was bad when I was just doing all this for the dare. But now I mean it… I just have to complete the dare, get Gajeel to do his part and then I can continue everything normally with Luce...she doesn't have to know about the dare… right?'

Later on, Lucy walked out of her room, lookingfuller of energy than she did before. She was rather dressy… Could it be that she had dressed up so much all for him?

"You know…other girls do this for me a lot but none have ever been able to carry it out as beautifully as you." He commented with a bit of a teasing tone.

"W-w-what are you talking about!" Came her flustered response and with a frown she grabbed him and began walking out of the house, "So where are we going?" She asked.

"There's a 'prior-to-valentines' festival taking place in Lamia High…Everyone must bring a date and all. Lyon really wanted me to come and I thought it'd be fun" Gray replied casually. Lucy felt a current flow through her…'date?' she thought. She felt a rush of adrenaline at the thought, as Gray started the car and began to drive. Lucy remained silent for a while, fidgeting with her fingers nervously while the raven head gave her side glances from time to time. Finally, with one hand on the stirring, he used his free hand to grab hers and keep her from fidgeting. She looked at him with reddened cheeks and he gave her an assuring smile…

"Since when did you get so shy around me?" He decided to tease again and Lucy's heart went whoppers!

"I-I'm NOT shy!" She groaned with a frown but despite the immediate denial, she had other things on her mind that said otherwise… She grabbed tight on his hand and even though he should be using 2 hands to drive, he just let it be. What would she be right now if he hadn't wanted to change her? She would have probably been some closed away man-hater… She'd probably never have been able to be so free… These thoughts were ALWAYS there at the back of her mind. Deep down though, she knew there was way more than that… She had feelings for him, really, really strong ones. But she still couldn't decipher whether or not he felt the same… or maybe at least similar? But then again, why would he? If the men in her past disregarded her, what made her believe someone as 'perfect' as Gray would want her out of the many wonderful girls he could get?

The occurrences of last night were now very fresh and clear in her memory… she remembered every moment and every word and most of all, those questions she had asked him.

'You'd never hurt me the way they did…you wouldn't right?' she remembered asking him and he had nodded to her. He had promised her.

"By the way Luce… You – do you remember anything? From last night?" He asked out of the blue and she felt her breath get caught in her throat – was he reading minds or something?!

"Y-yeah… I was having trouble remembering it at first but…yeah, I remember." She managed to keep her cool. Gray looked in deep thought and much more serious now. This made Lucy curious. Could it be that he didn't want her to remember or something because maybe he never even meant anything he said and didn't want her to hold her hopes to high? He mind began to create hysterical reasons, making Lucy feel a sense of anxiety. She stared at him – he looked as though he were caught up in a debate within his mind.

'…Maybe I should ask her… but today's supposed to be a special day and all… I can't bring up something like that right? But then again wouldn't it be better to get the load off today? Ugh…I'm just so confused!' Gray frowned as he thought.

"You know…if you didn't mean what you said last night…I won't mind if you take it back also it's – " She began to say but he cut her off immediately.

"Don't even for once believe that I didn't mean it… I always mean everything I say Luce. Even if someday for some reason you may not have a reason to believe me, I want you to know that I'll be there even then…" Lucy's eyes widened slightly… would anyone else ever go to such an extent for her?

"Ne…Gray?"

"Hm?"

"You look like you've wanted to ask me something. I want to answer it. You already know more about me than anyone else in this world probably does…" She said. Gray looked at her and smiled slightly… he felt somewhat at ease knowing that he was the only bearer to the key to this treasure at least and that not even a 'him' or 'he' can take it away…Lucy was HIS treasure. Lucy waited for the question expectantly and Gray hesitated.

"Er… It's fine. Maybe some other time when –" He began but she interrupted him.

"Judging from your hesitation AND your previous question… I take it that the question is something about my past isn't it?" She concluded with a smile that looked like it took a lot of effort to be displayed. Gray felt a bit guilty… she read him so easily and it probably hurt her…he probably brought back all the sad memories back to her.

'Why that look Gray…?' Lucy thought, 'why that hesitation to ask me directly even if it may be a bit painful for me…? you've already caused me all the difficulty you can by making me so lovesick when I had promised myself it would never happen again…'

"If it's you, no matter what the question is, I'll answer it even if it's something about which I'd rather never mention to anyone else. I believe in you Gray… I always have and no matter what the situation, I always will." She blurted out and then immediately bit her lip realizing she had just said it all out loud.

Gray was…speechless. Then he cleared his throat.

"If that's so then…why did you drink that bottle last night?" He asked, with a more serious face. This caught Lucy off-guard and she felt her cheeks heating up… She hadn't thought he'd ask her this and surely she couldn't take back that she'd answer anything he asked. She couldn't tell him she was jealous! If she did, it was as good as confessing to him! What if he rejected her…? Would she still have him as a friend even then? She couldn't take such a risk!

"Luce, you're not a drinker. Tell me, truthfully, what happened last night. You know I was really mad at you because of that…" He began to say.

"I-I…" was all that left her. Gray then smiled and patted her head.

"You can tell me some other time…when you're ready, that is"

Lucy's eyes widened at his statement… Could it be that he already knew the reason? Maybe he just wanted to hear it from her? Was it that he really wanted her to confess to him or something because he felt the same? But…it could also be that he wanted to tease her or make fun of her… I mean, was it the first time that this has happened to her? But then again, maybe she was overthinking about all this and maybe he really didn't know.

Gray parked the car in Lamia High's parking lot. It was quite a beautiful school and the festival looked well-prepared for. She had heard it was their tradition to have a festival a few days before Valentines. She actually couldn't wait… This would probably be her first ever, successful valentines with someone she truly liked.

"Not bad huh?" Gray thought aloud and Lucy looked at him.

"Not bad?! It's awesome!" She corrected.

"You can't say that Luce. You're a student of Fairy High and Lamia High has been trying ever year to defeat our fame in being the best school in organizing festivals in Magnolia. You must keep our pride…considering you're here with the president of Event Management in Fairy High. You can't rival the festivals I have organized to THIS" He said and began to walk through the entrance.

"Gray-san!" A girl with pink hair greeted him energetically and Gray gave her a simple nod.

"Oh so you brought a date? She your new girlfriend?" The girl asked.

"No, she's not my girlfriend" He simply said and waited as the pink haired girl returned the change and handed over the entrance tickets. Lucy was a bit annoyed and began to pout though subconsciously. Gray didn't fail to notice.

"Hey, we haven't even started and you're already pulling that face" He said in a whining manner.

"What face?" Lucy asked in denial, trying her best to keep herself from pouting and blushed deeply when Gray pulled both her cheeks.

"THIS face" He laughed. Lucy averted her eyes in a tsundere manner.

"W-well… you didn't have to say it like that" She said quietly.

"Say WHAT like how?" He asked confused.

"That… 'she's not my girlfriend'…" She replied quieter than even before now but Gray still heard her and now he was grinning.

"But you're not… right?" He asked, putting force on the 'right?' as he leaned closer to her. Lucy flushed… what else could she do?

"Y-yeah but you didn't have to say it like THAT" She tried to defend herself but Gray just laughed.

"Like HOW?Lucy-san?" He teased and she crossed her arms with a huff, still blushing though.

"Hmph! Like nothing!" She finally gave up and Gray continued to laugh. Lucy then felt a soft pat on her head and blushed when she looked at Gray who was smiling his dreamy smile while stroking her hair affectionately. She was totally becoming 'fan-girl' over him which was so NOT like her.

They walked around and came across many stalls, ALL involving something only a couple can do together… the atmosphere was so lovey-dovey that Lucy could feel herself sink in embarrassment. Then suddenly her eye caught upon a group of couples gathering at one hall. The banner read:

Take a wedding picture with your companion and stand a chance to win a prize for the cutest couple! 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded! Costumes provided too!

Lucy felt herself go into a daze. She remembered some moments she had spent with her mother. One of the very few she could recall, having been so young when her mother become her 'late mother'.

"Ne Lu-chan… What would you like to become when you grow up?" Layla Heartfilia asked the miniature version of herself. The mini-Lucy who was only about five years old at the time smiled widely.

"Lucy wants to get married!" The older blonde looked at her with some sort of a shocked expression. It's not every day you meet a tiny kid who doesn't want to become an astronaut, a teacher or even a princess but rather, wants to get married!

"Lu-chan, you don't happen to like anyone do you?" Layla asked with a worried tone. After all, such a young child talking about marriage SHOULD raise some eyebrows.

"No… Lucy wants to marry a prince! And wear the beautiful white gown with lots and lots and LOTS of flowers!" Lucy raised her hands in the air as she said this and Layla who was serious a moment ago, began giggling.

"So all you want is the dress then" Layla concluded and Lucy childishly nodded.

"Someday you'll find your prince AND be able to wear your dream dress" Layla smiled as she took the mini-Lucy into her arms.

How many years had it been since that was her wish? As she thought about it now…it was rather stupid yet nostalgic. She couldn't deny that stupid or not, it had been her dream once.

"Hey Luce, where you spacing out to?" Gray asked her and when no reply came, he followed her gaze to see what she was staring at. He smirked inwardly…She was really full of surprises. But even this was good enough to make a Gray Fullbuster feel a bit nervous… did it have to be wedding pictures? But then, if it was her wish then it was his command, he smiled as he thought. Today the blonde would have all the power to control him but sadly for her, she probably doesn't even know that.

Gray got closer to her from behind and held both her hands, his chin resting on her head. But this time Lucy didn't lose her cool…she just stayed still, savoring the moment.

"You know…all you have to do is ask…" He said in a voice that sounded like it was coming from miles away…Why was he always so sweet? Lucy wondered. Why was he confusing her so much? She wanted to know. Why did he always speak in riddles? It just made it harder for her to know the place she had in his heart.

"Well, well. What do we have here?" A deep, masculine voice sounded from behind them. Gray felt like murdering the owner of the voice but he knew all too well that the voice belonged to his one and only step brother, who unfortunately and tragically, Gray would never be able to kill.

"Can you feel the ambience before you rudely interrupt?" Gray asked, rather rudely, making Lyon grin further.

"Then I take it my suspicions are right? So you two DO have something going on huh?" Lyon said and Lucy couldn't help but wait for Gray's answer to that… Did they have something going on from his point of view?

"Leaving all that, who've you come with?" Gray asked, totally dodging the previous question and again Lucy didn't know whether she was relieved or disappointed, probably both.

"With my true love of course" Lyon replied in an animated manner, making Gray sweat drop at how serious he sounded, "But unfortunately, it's you she's truly after" Lyon whispered with animate grief the last part loud enough for only Gray and Lucy to hear.

Lucy watched in surprise as Gray shuddered slightly… the pieces of the puzzle were beginning to fit together – Lyon's 'true love' + ultimate super fan girl = Juvia. It could be no other.

"She just came with me to spy on you and right now she's at some stall…she'll be back soon anyway. But you know, she'll be mine soon" Lyon said possessively. Gray gave him an 'are-you-seriously-telling-me-that?!' look and patted him on the shoulder.

"You can PLEASE keep her" He said and it sounded more like he was pleading with Lyon.

"Wait. Who're we talking about?" Lucy asked, who was trying hard to follow the conversation. Why did these two have to ALWAYS speak in riddles?! But her question required no answer because soon enough, the blue-head walked over and as we can probably already imaging, she was drooling over Gray.

"Um, Juvia, you notice I've got a date here too" Gray tried to point out, making Lucy blush heavily. But her moment was ruined when in the next minute he whispered to her, "Just this time save me from her". So he didn't really mean it? He just said that so he could avoid Juvia? Her thoughts were cut off that very moment when she felt the nasty glare being directed towards her.

Then Juvia's eyes got caught on the same stall as Lucy's had.

"Gray-sama! Juvia wants to do that" Juvia pleaded energetically while pointing at the poster. Gray sweat dropped. How much till she understood that he's never going ANYWHERE with her? Let alone a 'wedding picture' contest? He could sense the tense atmosphere Lyon and Lucy were providing. SERIOUSLY?! He thought, 'were they seriously taking this all so seriously when he had already made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with the blue-head.' But more than Lyon, he wanted to convince Lucy.

He opened his mouth to answer and just as he was about to say something, he felt something grab hold of his left arm. He turned to see that Lucy was clinging onto him possessively, her golden bangs covering her chocolate orbs. He stared at her and she looked up at him so that their eyes met… It was like her eyes were pleading him not to go. She then shook her head at him slowly, with a rather…pained expression. He wasn't going to go! Why didn't she already know that?! He felt his heart clench at the way she was looking at him.

"Actually, I'm already taking Lucy there and we're entering as a 'COUPLE'." Gray replied, putting an arm around Lucy's waist. Lucy felt so right when she was close to him like this… Right now, not even the death glare the lunatic blue-head was giving her could ruin it.

"Welcome!" Another pink haired girl greeted energetically. This one was older than the one they met at the gate but no doubt, they looked almost identical!

"Gray! So you managed to make it! What do you think? I'm sure this is good enough to beat Fairy High's Valentine prom, ne?" The girl asked cheerfully.

"Yeah sure…maybe some time in the coming future" Gray replied with a bored tone. Why was he acting like that around these two girls? Or was he actually always like that…? Lucy couldn't seem to figure it out!

"Sherry and Cheria have worked really hard to defeat you this year Gray…" Lyon informed.

"Yeah, I can see that. I met Cheria at the entrance… But no matter how hard you work, it's going to be nothing compared to what the student council of Fairy High organizes every year." Gray replied.

"Ooh! I see you've brought a girl with you! Aww so Gray FINALLY knows the beautiful, wonderful, lovable feeling of love!" The girl, now recognized as Sherry said in a 'I'm-in-dreamland' voice.

"Just ignore her… she and her cousin Cheria just never quit ranting about 'love'. They do it so much that it could make your head ache" Gray joked to Lucy.

"Okay, this way, this way." She ushered Gray and Lucy into the hall where already a lot of couples were gathered. Whispered filled the room, mainly of girls squealing over how cute Gray was or how handsome he looked or how much of a prince charming he was. Lucy couldn't avoid the 'out-of-place' feeling she was beginning to get…

"Okay now, Girls this way! Boys that way!" Sherry instructed and the crowd divided themselves based on their respective genders.

"Now, listen up. Once I give the 'GO' sign, all of you girls slip into that room and all you guys into that one. Inside you'll find a variety of wedding costumes. Choose the one you like, put it on and for guys, you come out immediately after you are ready but the girls, only when your number is called out, come out and get your picture clicked. Remember to pose as cutely as possible! The 1st, 2nd and 3rd cutest pictures will be awarded the prizes and first position will get the 'Cutest Couple' title. The selection for this will be by votes. ANYONE present at this festival can vote. Is that understood?" She asked and everyone replied with an energetic, "YES!"

Eventually, Sherry gave the 'GO' and the participants got to work. Gray began browsing calmly through the various costumes, not caring to notice how the other participants were getting all violent and fighting over certain costumes. Eventually he noticed a medieval times type of costume, probably for a prince. He grinned. Lucy would definitely like this one he joked to himself. He picked it out of the rack and then bumped into someone – Lyon, who was also wearing a prince costume, which was the ONLY other prince costume to be found.

"Lyon?! What're you doing here?" Gray asked with confusion.

"Juvia decided to take part." Lyon said with a prideful smirk which Gray crushed the next second with his next question.

"And what is her REAL motive?"

Lyon sighed before answering, "Well, she said she couldn't let you win with Lucy." Gray felt like pulling the life force out of that woman! What was up with her!

"Oh and would you look at we have the same choice in costumes." Lyon pointed out and Gray nodded before going to get changed. After two minutes, the guys began walking out of the room. The crowd cheered for them. But the cheers got louder when Gray and Lyon came into view.

"Hey look at those two! Their wearing prince costumes!"

"Oh my gosh they look so dreamy!"

"I wonder who their dates are!"

"So unfair!"

"Though the dark-haired one looks even dreamier"

"I think the light-haired one looks quite sophisticated"

"Ha! The dark-haired one has a mind-blowing physique!"

Were the types of comments moving about.

"I think we attracted too much attention" Gray sighed.

"Hn. The real question will be if we were able to attract the attention of OUR ladies." Lyon replied.

Eventually, Sherry began calling the numbers and the girls came out one by one, as per their number, dressed in all kinds of wedding dresses and took their pictures.

"Contestant number 11" Sherry called out and Lyon became more alert – it was Juvia's turn to come out and their turn to take the picture. The blue-head walked out in a traditional long white gown with a transparent veil. It was very simple, but it suited her. They decided to use the magazine-style pose, with Juvia sitting on a grand chair and Lyon wrapping his arms around her from behind the chair.

"Awww!" The audience responded.

Then came the moment Gray and probably every one of the audience was waiting for.

"Contestant number 14" Sherry called out. Gray felt his cheeks heat up as he noticed how he was all 'doki-doki' about seeing Lucy in a wedding dress, but anyway, he was excited. The entire hall waited in silence. EVERYONE wanted to know who Gray's date was. After about thirty seconds, Lucy walked out gracefully, though her face was entirely crimson from all the attention and her constant fidgeting with her dress. She kept her eyes down, debating on whether or not to see Gray's reaction.

Gray was stunned a bit… she was apparently the only girl to choose a short dress rather than the traditional long ones. Her hair was pinned up in the front and the rest left down with a few bangs left to frame her cheeks. She held a bouquet of lilies which was again a unique choice. Gray noticed how she was constantly pulling the dress down in nervousness… she was probably confused about whether it was too short or not. He knew he was blushing but he didn't do much or rather COULDN'T do much to hide it.

"You're probably the most beautiful bride there ever was" He complimented but in pure honesty. Lucy, out of reflex looked up at him, finally meeting his gaze…He smiled at her again, then took hold of her fidgeting hands and gripped them tightly, stopping her from fidgeting.

"It's perfect…" He said again.

Lucy felt her heart skip at the compliment but more than that, the fact that Gray had chosen a prince-like costume made her heart go in an even greater frenzy!

"Lucy wants to marry a prince! And wear the beautiful white gown with lots and lots and LOTS of flowers!"

Her childish voice echoes in her mind.

'Ne, mama… I think I found him' She said inwardly.

"That's definitely the cutest couple!"

"Look at their chemistry! They're PERFECT!"

"Who'd have thought that guy would have a taste for the simple types."

"Yeah… I thought his date would be those really bratty types. But that girl looks really cute and sweet"

"Okay you two, take your pose" Sherry instructed.

Gray and Lucy walked towards the front of the camera. Both had no pose in mind but before they could even think of one, the crowd began cheering.

"KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS!"

Lucy turned from crimson to scarlet. There was probably no limit to how deep her blush could get! Finally before Lucy could even react, she felt Gray give her a kiss on her cheek, after which three things happened – firstly, Lucy's eyes widened in shock, though her blush still significantly present; secondly, the camera flashed; and thirdly, the audience went haywire, all cheering and clapping and whistling.

They were the last contestants.

"Okay so everyone, you'll can enjoy some other stalls at this festival because we'll be back in the next hour to do the voting." Sherry announced and the crowd began to disperse, many giving compliments to Gray and Lucy on the way out, though Gray was the only one answering. Lucy on the other hand remained standing stiff as ever with her eyes still widened and her lips forming an 'o'.

(A/N: Kyaa~! I'm totally going fan girl here! This update was a few days later than usual because it had to be posted on the exact date of Tsumiki-san's birthday so please don't mind :D)

NEXT CHAPTER: The continuation of the birthday special!

Until Next week,

Ja'ne!
