"So what's the plan after this?" She asked, late in the evening when Kuronue had decided to show her how the rather advanced quasi-grill worked. Youko was bringing in some more meat, having had tired of eating greenery for the last few days, and it was just her and the bat-youkai currently in the cave. He looked at her questioningly.

"I mean, I have to go back after tomorrow…for quite some time."

Kuronue stoked the fire some more, and then turned to her. "Youko has told me of some of the details, but not much…what is your quest?"

The what concerned a highly sought-after jewel, but she still was uncomfortable telling them that, without the rest of her companions with her. She settled for, "Dangerous."

They had been good about asking her for sparse details, especially since Youko appeared to prefer tricking them out of instead of outright demanding ––Kuronue was less subtle. "How long has it been going for?"

She sighed. "Years."

"Will you be finished soon?"

The pieces were almost all in place, but… "Nearly, yes." She looked up at him, eyes full of worry. "The only problem is that the ending will the hardest part."
