Kagome was offering up feeble protests, which were not so much of an issue of defensiveness as they were a problem of insecurity. He did not know what had made her so down-trodden before, but it could not continue. Not with potential like hers.
"Your quest." Kuronue was replying, still staring at the hole in the tree. Youko would have to remember to take his youki out of the immediate area next time they tried. "The one that you are returning to."
The priestess nodded. She was looking at the ground. "Yeah. And I don't spend my days off practicing...well, any of this."
"But you do get days off? Doing what?"
She looked up at the bat-youkai. "Uhm...that's complicated."
