It sounded sillier in her head, when the severity of everything came into focus. Kagome was eighteen now, had been out of school for several months...which meant that she had spent most of them in this era. But Mama and Souta and Gramps were all in hers, and it was too hard to cut them off completely when there was still the possibility of...well, of not returning.
But it was also selfish. All of her time spent not searching for the jewel meant that her friends had to wait around, and it wasn't like any of them could see their families still. It had been difficult enough going home so frequently when she had had a good excuse - don't destroy your future by being stuck in your past. She already was spending far more time in Feudal Japan than before but...was it enough?
