Sorry guys, this chapter may not be so juicy but the next one totally is!
Last season we left our lovebirds drifted apart, this season will they finally reunite? Or will this really mean the end for them? Well let's read and find out!
KINDLY DO NOT IGNORE THE A/N AT THE END OF THIS CHAPTER.
"WENDY! Hold on! Please…" Gray pleaded as he held the hand of the blunette who was being pushed down the white hallways of the hospital with the help of four nurses and two doctors. A tear trickled down Gray's left cheek as he looked at the motionless figure of the little girl who was doing her best to hold onto her consciousness. They reached a large room at the end of the hallway that had a sign that read 'ICU'.
"Sir, you must wait here" One of the nurses instructed as she prevented Gray from going in. Gray kept his eyes fixated on the blunette who was being taken into the room, she slowly raised her hand, calling out to him and suddenly the door was shut and he could no longer see her.
He sat on one of the waiting benches on the side, his hands covering his forehead in frustration as tears streamed down.
"Gray! Where is she?! What happened to her?!" Gajeel asked worriedly as he walked hurriedly towards the depressed raven-head. Gray simply pointed at the entrance of the ICU and it didn't take Gajeel one second to understand how serious the situation was. It wasn't the first time Wendy had had an attack but it is commonly said that after two, the third is like certain death. She had however managed to miraculously survive a third one but this was the fourth and no matter how Gajeel looked at it, he couldn't see her surviving this one. But he still clung onto hope.
Eventually the entire gang had gathered at the hospital – all hoping for a miracle. Time passed slowly as they waited for even the smallest of news about what was going on inside with their little friend.
After what seemed like forever, the doctor came out of the ICU, and Gray didn't even wait for a second – he immediately stood up, "Doctor… is she okay?
5 YEARS LATER…
"Lucy-san! C'mon, we need to go now!" Yukino urged, trying to drag the blonde out of the university campus. After a long two weeks of medical exams, Lucy had grown tired and demanded a shopping day out which Yukino didn't have to be asked twice to oblige.
Life had become an endless routine with those few hidden moments of happiness for Lucy. She knew it would be hard on her if she chose medicine and she also knew her father wouldn't be very pleased about it – or so she thought, since when she had revealed her decision to him, he had been very okay with it; stating that his future son-in-law could take care of the family business. She didn't care anymore. All she wanted was for a day full of activities and jobs that occupied her thoughts every moment of the day. Medical studies were hard enough to have her either studying all day or going for various demonstration classes every evening. It worked well enough for her. But was she really as happy as she looked?

"Hey Gray! Let's go out for a while… you know… have some fun?" Cana suggested, trying to get the raven head OUT of his files. It felt like he was always busy now, except on Sundays. He was a workaholic but that supposedly was what brought the Fullbuster Inc. to where it is right now.
Ever since Wendy, Gray had become more and more focused on his studies. He had managed to cover up the year he had missed when he was a kid so that he graduated from high school with Erza, Mira, Jellal and all the other seniors. He had studied in the best business school, done his masters and taken over his family business – the only thing his parents had left behind.
It was a common thing for friends to drift apart after high school finished but that didn't hinder the fairy tail gang. Natsu, Gajeel, Loke, Jellal and Gray met up every now and then, including their fixed Sundays in Nirvana, their favorite pub in town. Mira being Mira, called Gray daily and a lot of times, he had dinner at the Strauss sisters' home. It was now a routine sort of thing. The Scarlet ex-school president remained her headstrong, controlling self and she and Gray stayed close as ever; they graduated from the same universities…But at the end of it all, Gray went into business and Erza went into law. She became a renowned lawyer, not just in Magnolia but in the entirety of Fiore. She had a busy life but that didn't mean she didn't get to see Gray; in fact, she got to see him countless times a week since she had agreed to provide special legal services for his company - giving them and even Gray himself, legal aid and advice. It was her thing to keep watch over Gray and make sure he didn't mess up and took care of his health. On the contrary though, Cana, who was now a famous pop star, was the one who kept his fun meter on check.
Gray liked to call them his two guardian angels. Ultear and Lyon were handling the Fullbuster Inc. overseas branches and mostly stayed out of town, but Ultear visited Magnolia from time to time to see her little brother.
"Cana I just have a few more files. It can wait can't it?" He pleaded, "While you are busy having fun, SOMEONE has to make sure the business is still running."
"Oh please… a few hours won't sink this titanic of a multinational" Cana joked. Gray didn't bother to reply.

Lucy sighed as she slid into her hot tub. There was nothing like the bliss feeling of letting yourself sink into the depths of steaming hot water… It had always helped her clear her thoughts. The day had gone by like any other day. She had completed her last exam, gone shopping with Yukino, bought a million things she didn't need and come back home only to soak herself in the comfort of her hot tub and let the exhaustion of the day wash off.
The only scary part of just relaxing in this hot tub was…it made her think… sometimes she didn't want to think. Thinking made her remember stuff she didn't want to remember. It made her believe in stuff she had given up on believing.

Gray sighed as he did his best to get away from all the commotion with all the reports flocking around him. It was tedious, but it had become a genuine part of his life that he had accepted. With fortune came fame right? His midnight blue eyes searched eagerly for the girl he had been waiting to see.
Then finally he spotted her, all fashionably dressed, one hand dragging her trolley behind her and the other holding onto her furry overcoat. When she spotted him, her lips quirked into a smile; she walked towards him. He ushered her hurriedly into his car and they took a jet start away from all the crowd of reporters.
"So how was your flight?" Gray asked taking a glance at her.
"Great. But before you get me engaged in small talk, you're leaving tonight right?" She asked looking at him intently.
"Yes Ultear. I promised didn't I? And before you ask again, I'm not doing this forcefully. I really don't mind." He said.
"I know you'd do anything for me if I ask you so I just want to make sure this time you're not doing it just for me." She pushed
"I am doing this for you… but I don't really have a problem with it at all. I know it's about time. Don't worry, okay?" He convinced her.
"Well, that settles it then. So I'll be seeing you off today."
"Yeah, that's kind of sad since we just met after three months and I have to leave immediately" He groaned. Ultear laughed, punching him playfully. They both giggled their way home.
~o~o~o~o~ 2 DAYS LATER
"I can't believe this is happening…" She said a tear trickling down her cheeks but even though she wanted so much to object to it all, she knew it was the right thing to do.
"Me neither, but I guess this was how this was meant to end up. I'm sorry" He said softly, wiping the tears off her cheeks with his thumb as he caressed her jawline. She averted her eyes, fidgeting with her feet. He leaned down slowly and gave her a peck on the cheek before turning away and walking, his suitcase dragging behind him.
"YOU BROKE UP?" Lucy exclaimed in utter disbelief and Yukino nodded sadly. Lucy hugged her tight, "When did this happen Yukino?!"
"On Monday… right before he boarded his flight" She said sadly.
"And you're telling me this NOW?!" Lucy sighed angrily.
"Sorry Lucy, I just wasn't in my right mind then." Yukino explained. Lucy nodded in understanding. Of course she understood, she thought. Nobody knew the word 'break up' as well as she did. She always got that, and always the hard way. At least Yukino's ended in an amicable manner.
"I'm sorry Yukino. I mean, I always thought that you were very happy with Rogue –" Lucy began
"I was… We were… But ever since we graduated from university and stuff, things changed, you know. He got busy with his business and I was happy for him, I really was – and I still am… but slowly I realized he never really had time for me, of course he did his best to make sure he gave me as much time as possible but then when he began handling the overseas branches, I barely ever saw him. He was always somewhere miles away in some other continent altogether."
"I know, but you're going to get past this right?" Lucy asked.
"Actually Lucy-san, I'm getting engaged" Yukino stated in the softest voice she could pull off. She closed her eyes waiting for the impact and boy did she get it…
"WHAT?" Lucy screamed.
(A/N: It's been a while folks. So I have sad news, but first I need to apologize.
Rogue: Yeah, you better. You've left them hanging for what? Two months?
Sting: Three months actually.
Gray: Oh come on, she can't help it. She's going to be really busy up till June… This may even be her last update until around May or June.
Lucy: Yeah… Itami-chan has these really important, super scary board exams coming up and trust me, her pride depends on them
SDQueen (Itami): I'm really sorry guys. But this year is a serious no go for me. I have absolutely ZERO time. I have eight fat subjects with huge syllabi that I have to cover real fast. So you guys won't be seeing much of me until May/June.
Yukino: Please don't abandon us by that time!)
COMING UP NEXT: Yukino is getting engaged?! Who? When? How? After years of dating Rogue, is there no hope left for them? How is Lucy taking this? Has Lucy really moved on? Does Gray no longer exist in her world? Will they ever cross paths again or has fate doomed them apart? FIND OUT IN THE NEXT HEART-THROBBING CHAPTER!
TRUST ME GUYS, THE NEXT ONE IS SUPER JUICY AND TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT!
