Author's note: I'm spoiling you all with two chapters on this last day of August :-) I've been a busy little bee these past few weeks, finishing these new chapters and creating a new video! Please check it out on my You Tube channel (see my profile for my YT channel link). Any likes or comments for this video would be much appreciated :-) It's a story about HP & HG, and involves a battle between Hades and Voldemort! It has given me inspiration for another fan fiction...yikes! This one is consuming enough and has even invaded my dreams...Voldemort will not let me be...he is very demanding ;-D
Back to this story now. Rose is still trapped inside her subconscious and experiencing both heaven and hell, pleasure and pain. SA
'He was born to be angry.
A fire that just burned cold,
And you knew you should keep away.'
"Turn of the screw" - Heaven and Hell
Rose stirred, trying to fight off the drowsiness that she felt. Where was she? She felt so confused and muddled. Her eyes did not want to open and her body wanted to stay where it was, but she disagreed and forced her eyes to open. Her vision was blurry and she blinked a few times to try to clear it. She tried to study her surroundings. The room she was in was dark and dank; she couldn't see much, except the tattered curtains hanging limply at the windows. She could hear the incessant rain continue to splatter against the panes of glass.
She had been covered by a lovely, fluffy duvet. It was so warm and cosy, that it explained why she didn't want to wake up and move! Where the hell was she? She didn't even remember getting into bed. She touched her chest underneath the cover and found she was still dressed. Her attention was then caught by a slight movement next to her, and she suddenly became aware of the warmth of another body against her back and the feeling of an arm resting around her waist.
Who was in the bed with her? She felt uneasy and tried to slide herself from the bed and out of their grip without waking them. But when she attempted this they moved and muttered in their sleep, tightening their grip upon her. She couldn't explain the reason for her unease, she just knew that she wanted to distance herself from whoever it was that held her. Rose lay still for a few moments and then decided to try again. She pulled the duvet back gently and then made to remove the limb from her body. She let out a gasp of shock at what she saw and jumped out of the bed, breaking the hold of the arm around her.
It was a child's hand that she had seen. Rose took a breath and then turned around and looked back towards the bed. Everything had come flooding back to her. Despite the darkness of the room, she knew who it was. It was that boy...Tom Riddle! He was stirring from his own sleep now, because of her sudden movement. He stretched and let out a yawn. Feeling the loss of the warmth beside him, he opened his eyes with a jolt, and with a flick of his hand, the room suddenly filled with light so that he could see.
The intense and piercing changeling eyes immediately fixed their gaze upon Rose and regarded her as she stood by the window. 'What are you doing stood there?' He enquired of her in his commanding tone. She felt nervous and unsure of what to say. Sensing her nerves, he spoke again. 'What is the matter with you? Rose knew she had to say something. 'I...I'm fine. I just woke with a start and wondered where I was, that's all. How did I get to bed last night?'
He moved on the bed, his eyes never leaving her.'You fell asleep as I brushed your hair last night, so I used my magic to bring you up here. You don't mind that I shared the bed with you, do you Rose? It was cold and there was only this bed.' Rose shook her head. 'No...of course not,' she replied, thinking to herself that he could have magicked up a bed and duvet for himself. Why did he want to sleep in the bed with me? Physical closeness to another person. perhaps? This thought made her feel sad and uneasy at the same time. 'Why don't you get back into bed?' He said. 'You must be cold standing there.'
Rose nodded at him nervously and rubbed her arms. 'It is cold, but I need to go to the bathroom first...where is it?' He smiled at her, but it did not reach his eyes. 'Turn right as you go out of the room and it is straight ahead.' Rose tried to smile in return. 'Thanks,' she said and headed for the door, trying to keep her pace unhurried. The instinct to run had kicked in, but she had to try to control it. She remembered the magic he had. He'd said she had her own magic, but she could not remember it. As she turned the handle of the door, he spoke again, and she turned around to face him 'When you come back, we can sleep in a while longer. It is still early yet and I haven't slept so well in years.' Rose forced a smile on her face again. 'Okay...I wont be long.'
She stepped out into the corridor, closed the door and exhaled a breath. She knew she had to get out of here and she knew instinctively that he wouldn't let her leave. She quietly made for the stairs and made her way down them, quickly moving to the door and grabbing at the handle, trying not to let the panic take over. She turned it, but it would not open. She twisted it several times more, but it remained firmly locked Their was no key to be seen. She took in more breaths to try to calm herself and quickly went through the hall towards the kitchen. Please let the back door be open!
She came to a halt as she stepped into the kitchen. A mist had appeared and then the boy was standing before her, directly in front of the door, with his eyes fixed upon her. Rose felt the cold anger radiate from him and the stare he gave her made her insides turn to ice. She inhaled a breath of fear at the sight of the snake that slithered upon the kitchen table. It hissed at her and raised itself up as if it was going to attack her. She let out an involuntary gasp and stepped back. Tom emitted strange hissing sounds and the snake halted, turned around and responded to him. This did not surprise her in the least...nothing about this boy would.
Rose wanted to run, but she felt rooted to the spot. She stood where she was until they had finished their conversation and Tom and the snake returned their attention back to her.'Nagini told me you were trying to leave me. She is a faithful pet and I know I can always rely upon her. But I didn't need her to tell me, for I read your intentions in your eyes...and in your thoughts.' Rose swallowed. The intensity of his stare made the knot of fear inside her grow. 'I...I'm sorry. I don't mean to offend you, but I have to leave.'
His expression didn't change and he merely continued to stare at her. 'I brought you here out of the rain. I took care of your needs and this is how you repay it. I showed you kindness and you return it by trying to leave me.' Rose didn't know what to say, but her instinct warned her that she was in trouble. 'I'm sorry Tom,' she said, using his name in the hope that it would help her to get through to him. 'I am grateful for your kindness and your care of me yesterday, but I can't stay here with you.'
He smiled a cold smile that made her shiver. 'You can't stay...or you mean that you don't want to stay?' Rose swallowed nervously. She was lost for words again and he spoke for her, the smile disappearing and a hard look taking its place. 'Don't bother trying to find the words to answer me with…I already know what your answer would be!' He's read my thoughts again ! She realised now that it was pointless to try to hide her intentions. 'I don't belong here Tom, you must understand that. I want to leave...will you let me go...please?'
Tom walked up to the table and began to stroke Nagini's head. The snake hissed in pleasure at his touch. After some moments, he fixed his attention back upon her. 'No. You will stay with me. I have told you that you belong to me and I will not let you go.' Despite her fear, Rose could feel her anger building. 'You can't keep me here! You can't make someone stay with you!' He laughed. 'I can, and I will. I have such magic that I can make you do anything I want. I can hurt you and I can kill you if I want to...'
Rose flew past him before he could react and grabbed at the handle of the kitchen door. She heard his mocking laughter behind her as she tried to make the locked door open. 'Don't be so silly Rose, you won't leave here unless I allow you to.' She heard Nagini's hissing behind her and she felt sick with fear. What was she going to do? She had no magic, it had deserted her and she was trapped. Her panic and fear began to overwhelm her again and she turned around to face him. A weakness took over her body, and she leaned back against the door, slid down it and hit the floor.
She stared at the floor and the tears began to slip down her face. She looked up again and he was standing over her. 'Why are you doing this to me?' She said, appealing to him. He stared down at her and his expression scared her. 'Because I can. And because you belong to me...accept it. I am your present and I am your future and you will never be free of me.' The boy in front of her already had so much power and he had a darkness growing within him. What kind of man would he become? She wiped her eyes with her hands and stared at him again. 'Ok Tom...I'm sorry. I've been stupid and I've insulted you with the way I've acted...will you forgive me?'
He continued to looking down on her and his eyes seemed to probe her insides. After some moments he spoke again.'Very well...let us try again. I will give you another chance and allow you to prove to me that you mean what you say.' He held out his hand to her and Rose placed her hand into his, raising herself from the floor. Before he was able stop her, Rose's hand left his grasp and joined her other one in closing themselves tightly around his throat. She squeezed upon his windpipe and watched the shock in appear in his eyes. It had to be done, it was the only way to get out of here. She didn't want to take a life, but he had left her with no choice. He was dangerous...
Suddenly she felt a piercing sting upon her back. She screamed in pain and her grip upon his neck loosened. Rose fell to the floor as her body stiffened in agony. She was infected with something; her heart began to beat rapidly and she felt cold and clammy. Her breathing was becoming rapid and shallow, and her vision began to blur. She knew she was dying...what had he done to her? He came into her blurred vision, a cold and angry look upon his face, with the snake draped protectively around his shoulders.
'You forgot about Nagini, Rose, didn't you? It was foolish to try to kill me with her around. She is truly the only creäture that I can rely upon and who accepts me as I am. The fellow members of my species continue to prove to me that they cannot be trusted, that they will disappoint me and leave me. It didn't have to be like this, Rose. I would have done anything for you; been your protector and your servant. All you had to do was stay with me, show your deference and obey me. Was that so much to ask? But you are like all the rest. It is such a pity.'
Rose felt her life force leaving her, as the deadly venom began to take hold of her system and her organs began to shut down. 'Well, Nagini, you have killed her. She is no good to me dead...you may as well make use of her body and sate your appetite.' These were the last words she heard, as the blurred vision of the boy called Tom Riddle and his snake, Nagini disappeared from her view and she slipped into nothingness...

'You're a shooting star I see
A vision of ecstasy
When you hold me, I'm alive
We're like diamonds in the sky
I knew that we'd become one right away
Oh, right away
At first sight I felt the energy of sun rays
I saw the life inside your eyes.'

'No…!' Rose let out a scream of terror and sat bolt upright. Her heart raced and she was sweating profusely. She sucked in lungs of air and tried to steady her breathing. Her heart continued to thump, but it gradually began to slow. She was in the same bedroom as before, but it was not the dark, musty and unloved room she remembered. It was warm and the decor was in good condition. She wiped a hand across her brow, disturbing the film of sweat that had formed.
She flopped back down against the pillows and stared upwards at the ceiling. She listened to her heart as it made its way back to a normal pace. She wasn't dead and she hadn't become a snake's breakfast! It had been a horrible dream, that was all. He wasn't here...he wasn't real...was he? She turned slightly to her right and exhaled a breath of relief when she saw that she was alone in the bed.
Despite the warmth of the room, Rose shivered and turned over onto her side to face the window, pulling the covers more tightly around her. Tom Riddle. She hoped that he wasn't real and that he had just been something dreamed up by her subconscious. If that was the case, then what the hell was her subconscious trying to tell her? Watch out for strange boys with pet snakes? That had was the weirdest dream she'd had in some time.
This was one dream that would not be forgotten in a hurry. She debated with herself about getting up to make a drink, but decided against it. She laughed to herself. No, I'll think I'll stay here...I really don't fancy running into that snake! Then she remembered that awful bit of her dream where her parents and Carrie didn't know who she was. It had been so horrible and upsetting. She felt the emotion well up inside her, but she fought it. It's fine Rosie, It was a dream, that's all. I'll phone them in the morning...they will laugh at me for getting so upset over a dream!
She started, and her heart began to thud, as she suddenly felt the weight of another person lower itself on the mattress. Oh God no ! Rose said to herself and felt her heart begin to race. Please don't let it be him. The springs creaked as they adjusted themselves. She felt the light, warm breath against her hair and shivered as a hand place itself on her shoulder. The hand exerted a slight pressure, indicating it wanted her to turn around.
A familiar voice spoke to her. 'Hello, my little wild-flower! Where have you been hiding?' Rose did not hesitate in turning over in the bed at the sound of that voice. The familiar face entered her vision and his beautiful blue eyes looked upon her. His face creased into a wonderful smile and her heart flipped over. 'Sirius!' She shouted out his name in joy.
Rose flung herself into his arms. She began laughing with joy and crying with relief. She nuzzled her face into his hair and he stroked her head. 'Hey now, what's all this?' She pulled her face back so she could look at him again. He was here and it seemed like an age since she'd last seen him. She felt overwhelmed by the sudden recollection of the feelings she had for him. She hoped this wasn't a dream
'Oh Sirius, you have no idea how glad I am to see you! I thought I was here alone. Everything has been so weird. I've had these horrible dreams about my family...they didn't remember me and my parents said I wasn't their daughter! Then I dreamed about this dark, strange boy and his snake. It felt so real and he was so frightening!' She stopped gabbling at him and touched his face. 'You are real aren't you?' He laughed and took her hand, kissing it. 'Does that feel real to you?'
Rose laughed back at him. 'Oh yes!' He kissed her on the mouth and stroked her hair. 'How about that?' Rose smiled and nuzzled herself against him and into his neck. She placed a hand on his chest and could feel the thumping of his heart. 'That definitely feels real!' His hand took her chin and gently pulled it upwards so she met his gaze. He grinned at her wickedly. 'Let me show you how real I am!' Their mouths met and they kissed one another hungrily.
They pulled apart after a few moments. Rose looked at him lustfully. She grinned seductively at him and traced her finger across his lips. He opened them so they covered her finger, sucking on it gently. Rose laughed. 'Let me show you how much I've missed you!' She said. Sirius stopped what he was doing and grinned back at her.'Yes please, my lustful lady!'
Their mouths met again and their hands roamed everywhere. They began to pull at their clothes, assisting one another to remove them and throwing them away without a care. Finally they were both naked and they began to explore one another's bodies. Rose shuddered in pleasure as Sirius kissed her breasts and abdomen. Her hands roamed through his hair and down his back.
Sirius' mouth moved back to hers. Their tongues met and the kiss was deep and intense. She felt him touch the inside of her thigh with his hand and she opened her legs to allow him entry to slip inside of her. They both let out a moan of pleasure at the sensation and he began to move inside of her. Rose wrapped her legs around his hips and they found their rhythm.
She lost herself in the delight of the pleasure of their fused bodies. He moved faster and harder inside of her and Rose removed her hands from his back and began clutching at the covers in delight 'Oh god, don't stop...please! Their cries of satisfaction became louder until they finally climaxed, relaxing their grip on one another. They were both breathless and remained where they were for a while. They kissed slowly and softly and both were reluctant to separate.
Sirius eventually moved his body from hers and lay upon his back. Rose laughed in delight and then turned on her side. She stroked his face and burrowed herself into his shoulder, wrapping an arm around him. 'You know how to ravish a girl, Sirius Black!' She said. He looked at her and laughed, 'I love to ravish you, my little wild-flower!' He kissed her again, then suddenly looked at her so intensely and with so much emotion, that she felt her stomach flip over and a knot of fear spring up inside her chest.
'I love you so much Rose...I can't put into words how much you mean to me.' Rose felt the fear begin to grow inside of her. Why was she scared? 'I love you too, Sirius...more than anything!' The look of joy on his face at her words was so lovely, but it only increased the fear inside her. Sirius wrapped his own arm around her and hugged her so tightly, planting a kiss on her forehead. 'C'mon wild-flower,' he muttered, 'Let's go to sleep.' He gave her a last lazy kiss on the mouth and then closed his eyes.
Rose watched as his breaths began to deepen and he fell into sleep. She studied every inch of his face, drinking in every detail. This wonderful and amazing man was back with her. He loved her and she loved him just as much. She should be so happy...but why did she feel so scared? Was it her instincts warning her that something was around the corner which would spoil their happiness? Or was it just the fear of committing to someone, giving them your heart and placing your trust in them, putting yourself at risk of being hurt?
Sirius would never hurt her, she was sure of that. He would risk everything, even his own life for her. He was that kind of man. She knew without a doubt that she could trust him. What was it then? She continued fighting sleep, trying to figure out this fear that had penetrated her. A thought popped into her head. She had begun to feel scared by the intensity of Sirius' look when he told her that he loved her. That look showed her how much she meant to him and that he was giving his all to her. He was placing his heart and soul into her hands and trusting her with them.
Maybe she was just scared of hurting him and breaking his heart. He'd had so much heartbreak in his life already and it was a big responsibility when someone gives their all to you like that. She didn't want to disappoint him or let him down. She hoped he hadn't put her upon a pedestal. She wasn't perfect, she had her faults. Despite their connection, they were opposites in some ways. She was a more mercurial and light-hearted character, whereas Sirius was a more intense and fixed person.
But she loved him, so she wouldn't let him down or break his heart...would she? He could trust her, he was the only man for her. Then why did she have this fear and this doubt inside her? She knew why she had responded in telling Sirius she loved him quickly. It was true of course...she did love him. But she hadn't wanted him to see the sudden fear that she had felt inside, that was why. She yawned, her body was telling her to let go, but still she ignored it. Or was it because she thought he may see something else inside of her? Some darkness that lay within and that she didn't want him to see? Her eyelids began to droop and then close, she could not fight it any more. I won't hurt him...I won't break his heart, she said to herself as sleep took a hold of her...
