The journey back home seemed shorter, as return journeys always did. This time however, Kagome was accompanied by two friends, and the potential to become more powerful…and perhaps, more dangerous.
She didn't feel the need to protest being held this time, although Youko refused to carry her like Inuyasha did (he wasn't a horse, he had said, he didn't carry people around like a mere beast).
It had made her laugh rather than scowl, and she conceded with grace…and a little bit of amusement. It meant that now the view was comprised of two things: the fantastical scenery below, obscured by the dimming light, and a beautiful face that popped down to meet hers far too often.
"How do you know where they are?" she asked, face turned away from the wind.
Youko chuckled. "Because I am a kitsune of many talents," he boasted "and because humans are slow."
Kuronue, who flew a little ways above them, looming in and out of view as Youko leapt, added in his two cents. "The tracker-plants you sent with them didn't hurt either."
