She stared at them. "No, you said something much more insulting."
At her side Shippo snorted. "You think my mother's weak?"
"I think that's the consensus," she said, wilting.
Youko guessed this was a taboo topic…a source he'd have to confront sooner or later if he planned to have her survive the clan's haranguing. For now it was enough just to get his point across.
"Not weak," he said carefully, "We already know you are strong—a priestess of unheard strength. But you are a club where you could be a sword."
Her eyebrow twitched. "Pardon?"
"Perhaps," Kuronue offered, "what Youko means to say is that you might find it advantageous to have some more training before facing your rather…daunting nemesis."
She gave them a considering look. "Just training?"
Youko nodded hurriedly. "Just training." He promised.
