"We'll start with the basics," he declared, much to Kagome's befuddlement.

"Youko?" She asked, eyes bleary with sleep. "It's not even sun up!"

The fox youkai huffed, right before he lifted her up, sleeping bag and all. Kagome let out a squeak of protest...and then a sigh of resignation. It may have been time to snooze in her books, but there were some things she already knew about kitsunes. Inuyoukai may be stubborn, but foxes were creative. She had no plans to let Youko think of alternative measures to get her out of bed.

She pouted and protested until she was on two feet, then caved to the prying look. "Okay, okay. What do you mean?"

"You'll see!" He promised.

A few hours later-and one long lecture about team responsibilities-and Kagome caught on: the basics were just that; breath deep, center yourself...and try not to get hurt.
