Quarter 15

"I want to say we can't but..."

"Can you keep it down Koga..." Hyuga grumbled while massaging his aching forehead in annoyance. Watching his monkey like friend jumping up and down excitedly is giving him a huge headache.

"Oh come on lighten up Hyuga this is the first time the team done something in the name of love so of course I'm excited of what will happen next..." Koganei said giddily.

"Calm down Hyuga." Izuki sweatdropped while he and Mitobe spare Koga from Hyuga's wrath.

"Let me at him!" Hyuga growled while clawing his way to Koga who's totally unaware that he is the subject of his annoyance.

"Hope those pair of idiots talk things through though.." Izuki said thoughtfully with a long meaningful sigh.

Mitobe nodded in agreement.

"Yeah hopefully their heads are not as thick as a rock...but in Kagami-kun's case it was hopeless." Kuroko said out in the blue making trio next to him scream in unison.

"Kuroko are you trying to give us a heart attack?!" Izuki, Koganei and Hyuga said in unison while Mitobe put his hand on top his chest trying to calm his beating heart.

"Where the heck did you come from you ass?!"Hyuga gritted his teeth while he pull the bluenette into a headlock.

"I'm here since the beginning Hyuga-senpai.." Kuroko said in between his senpai trying his best to get away from the elders grip fruitlessly.

"Oh yeah? Or are you just trying to scare us you little shit..." Hyuga said menacingly.

"Wow Hyuga you're devil incarnate..." Koganei commented.

"What did you say Koga?! You come here too!"

"N-No way!" Koganei said while hiding behind Mitobe's back who's visibly trembling from the evil look Hyuga's been sending his way.

Kuroko sighed on Hyuga's hold he didn't mind how his rowdy seniors seemingly had forgotten why they we're there in the first place but he was hopeful that their meddling help both Kagami and Kouki talk things through. After all they both needed this.

"Are you still scared?" Kagami asked the brunette.

"Y-Yeah...a bit..." Kouki said quitely but loud enough for the red head to hear, "I still don't like that we're stuck in the dark but it can't be help." he murmured while hugging himself to imitate some form of heat.

"You're cold." Kagami said as he took both Kouki's hand with his and rubbing both of it in an attempt to warm him up.

"I'm not r..really cold..." Kouki stuttered helplessly.

"You're really stubborn." Kagami pointed out.

"I'm not!" Kouki pouted.

Kagami chuckled, "That's fine...that's one of the things I like about you..."

Kouki in return was thankful that the darkness hid the blush that he's sure that is gracing his face. "Oh kami-sama what am I doing?!" He look away realizing that he was getting comfortable around Kagami again. Mentally beating himself up for getting carried away all over again.

"Darn it Kouki you're so stupid!" Kouki thought to himself.

"Here..."

Kouki snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a warm cloth was being wrapped around him.

"W-What?" he blink into the darkness.

"You're cold, right?"

"Y-Yeah but...what about you?"

"I'll be fine..." Kagami said like it was nothing and just fix his gakuran over Kouki's body.

"B-But..." Kouki couldn't finish what he was about to say when the red head shush him putting his finger on his lips.

"I'll feel better if you don't feel cold anymore." Kagami said gently making Kouki's heart skip a beat. Damn it Kouki here you are again feeling the butterflies on his stomach. When you shouldn't feel this way! Kagami is the person he has to avoid at all cost.

"Why are you avoiding me?"

Kouki clutches his hand tightly against his chest, of course Kagami will ask that the only question he couldn't answer.

"Kouki..."

Kouki bit his lips ignoring the chills that ran down his spine when the red head call his name. What's he supposed to say?

...

"I'm just too busy." Kouki said as low as possible he knows how dumb his answer was but he can't think of a better answer than this.

"That's bullshit.." Kouki visibly cringe as the red head cursed. "Truth to be told being avoided like this...it wasn't a very pleasant feeling...especially that person can't even give you a reason why he's doing it." Kagami said his crimson eyes staring intently at the brunette who's still looking down his lap visibly trembling like a leaf.

"You know Kagami-kun...maybe..."

"Hey you bunch of idiotic bastards what the hell are you guys doing this late at night?! All of you had the nerve to reason out that I told you guys that we have prac-" Riko couldn't finish her rant when Hyuga cover her mouth with his hand that's when she notices everyone are motioning her to calm down.

"This is bad how did coach found out where we are?!" Koganei panic while Mitobe visibly gulped a huge lump of saliva down his throat in fear.

"You called coach Kuroko..." Izuki caught on.

"Being in trouble with one person is far better choice.."

"Shut it coach you're gonna wake up the entire neighborhood." Hyuga shushed Riko making her twitch in annoyance and bite down on the Seirin captain. Hard.

"OUCH!"

"Is that Hyuga-senpai?" Kouki twitched on his spot, he wasn't hearing things right? He had heard their captain's scream far too often to get it wrong. But there's no way Hyuga will be in the closed library he's the only one who has the key. That's really strange.

"Don't change the subject to escape answering my question." Kagami said with a low grumbling sound on his throat.

"I'm not..." Kouki looks away even though he knows the red head probably can't see his face in the dark but he still felt the urge to hide his face. "How can I explain things to Kagami-kun without sounding so dumb? Truth to be told he knows what to say but whenever he tries to open his mouth no sound can come out of it. A few minutes seems like eternity in between those times he tried to come out with the reasons he memorized every morning in front of the mirror before school but all that seems useless. He can't even find his voice to speak!

"No Kouki pull yourself together!" the brunette nearly pull his hair out in frustration. He needs to do the right thing he can't pull Kagami down with him and Nina is right the red head still has future ahead of him, basketball to focus on dreams he's yet to conquer and if ever they got together he will only be an embarassment to him. But yet...

He couldn't find the words to say.

"Kouki..."

"I...ask you to give me more time to give you an answer..." He said while playing with his hand on his lap.

"Until when?" Kagami asked solemnly.

"I don't know..." Kouki bit his lips in frustration.

"Kouki I..."

"You told me before that you'll wait no matter how long it will take..." the brunette reminded him of his words.

"Yes, I know but you can't blame me for asking...Kouki I..." Kagami sighed as if calculating the words he wanted to say, "I really really like you...and I will always wait for you."

"I want to say we can't but my heart keep on screaming at me to try that we can..." Kouki nearly groan in frustration if only god can give him a sign it will really help him decide what to do.

Afternote: I know its short but i have to stop right here next Quarter/(Chapter) will be posted soon! But before I go I will leave a short sneak peak for Quarter 16! Any mistakes will be corrected tomorrow. I promise! Haha
