Chapter 36.
RPOV.
Warmth woke me from my sleep the next morning. My cheek laid against a bare chest and large hands wrapped around my growing torso. Sighing deeply, even though I had slept long hours, the night before plagued my thoughts like a disease. I couldn't get the masked figure out of my brain, and no matter how hard I tried it was plastered in there like a hair stuck beneath paint.
I couldn't stay in bed though. As much as I wanted to stay laid curled against Dimitri's side and forget about the world. I couldn't. I had to pee so badly, it wasn't even funny. Carefully un draping his arm from me, I quietly got up and crept to the bathroom to relieve myself.
When I was finished, and washing my hands I could see the dark circles under my eyes showing how tired I really was. Giving a good yawn it wasn't until then did I hear movement from the room over and a yell to startle anyone.
If I had been really pregnant I probably would have given birth.
"ROZA!?" rushing out of the bathroom, I stood in the door to reveal a very worried looking Dimitri, and as soon as our eyes met, he was rushing at me and circling me into his arms once more.
Wrapping my arms around him I let him hold me for a few minutes before looking up at his face. Clearly he was worried and I knew he had been bothered for a few days now. But he wouldn't tell me why. I think it was time we had a chat.
"Dimitri, Calm down. Im right here." I told him, rubbing his back and leaning my chin into his chest.
I could feel his fingers running themselves through my hair and feel the warmth of his breath against my neck. And the thumping of his heart pulsed against me. We stood there in silence, as he calmed himself.
Pulling away to look at him, I lifted my arms and circled them around his neck looking into his deep brown eyes. "Should I be scared as to why you reacted that way? I believe I was the one who saw the creeper last night , Husband." I usually called him husband when I wanted to lighten the situation, but somehow this seemed to only bring haunted features to his face.
"I think maybe it is best time to explain a few things to you." Cupping his cheek now, he gently leaned into it, I gave him a couple minutes before I led him to the edge of the bed, and upon sitting down, he let it all out.
The stalking, the pictures. How on guard he has to be, and now the actual physical form of someone getting too close.
Things were not going good. We sat for about two hours before he finally flopped back onto the bed and ran his hands over his face, while I sat there with my hands folded in my lap. I could understand why he was so stressed.
Silence took over. That was until I started shooting off the questions. " So who do you think is behind this ? what evidence is there and who is it leading to?" I asked him bouncing my legs. He just let out a sigh and shook his head side to side.
" I have a team looking into it, and so far nothing. We don't know who has the guts to get so close to you and take the photos. We don't know how long or what the motive is and whoever is targeting you is very clever. It is a serious mystery. Im sorry Milaya."
I put a hand on his leg and rubbed it soothingly.
"I wonder…" I hummed and stared straight ahead at our dresser. Who wanted to do this to us? To me? I had no enemies. My father? But surely he would have kept me a secret if it were secret men coming after me.
Mia? That little bitch didn't like me to begin with, and then suddenly I remembered why she might be a little hostile. Hostility only burns the heart down to its darkest.
" Do you have an idea? Of who is could be Rose?" Dimitri asked me as he gave me a look.
"I never did like Mia, but maybe that's just me being biased. Maybe this is a conspiracy against me for taking you away from her." I gave a laugh. " Who am I kidding though, that's just my womanly brain thinking, we do hold grudges for ages didn't you know?" We both laughed unsurely.
Sitting up he leaned on his legs and looked over at me.
"Why don't we go away? Lets go back to the Cayman islands. Take the next 7 months together, let you deliver out there. Lets just get out, I can keep you safe away from everyone. Your parents can come visit us. Same with Lissa and Christian. Lets just go." At this point he had grabbed my hand and was practically pleading with me.
"Are you serious? You just want us to pack up and leave?" He just nodded as my eyes widened. Although it seemed amazing, how could we just up and leave. Was this so serious we needed to leave? Was I really in that much danger?
"I don't know what to do Milaya. I want you and our child safe. I could have Adrian look over the company in the time we are away. To be honest with you, I had him sign the partnership in case anything did happen to me – not to say anything is going to happen to me or you, but I wanted it in capable hands. I have made sure to have a backup emergency plan, and this seems like a good time to use it. Do you trust me Rose?"
I could only just look at him and nod. " I do trust you Dimitri, and I want to keep our baby safe, but is this really the right way? Rose Mazur does NOT run away from problems." I gave him my best impression of my Hercules pose. All he could do was smirk and shake his head.
"I have no doubt that you can take care of yourself, but something is bothering me. Like how the intruder was so close to the house, that's not safe, so next time are they going to get into the house? And we have no clues on who they are, and it worries me to not be around all day to protect you. This way I can have someone investigate while we are away. It would give me peace of mind. Please Rose."
Smiling, I nodded, tearing up a little bit watching his protective side come out, wanting to keep me and his child safe. Leaning closer, I pressed my lips to his gently and let a few tears escape. His thumb brushed them away, leaving a tingle sensation from his calloused thumb.
" Do not cry Love, everything will be alright. I will never let anyone harm you." Dimitris voice barely over a whisper. And for some reason, I couldn't help but believe each word without a doubt.
"YOU'RE LEAVING?!" Lissa screeched, her coffee cup flying from her hand as her body spun to face mine. We had gone for a walk with our coffee and tea's in hand and this was how I was going to break the news to her.
I cringed watching her stop mid stride and turn to face me. Her cup laying on the floor, spilling its contents.
"Dimitri thinks its best after whats been happening, you know I don't like running away from it either Lissa, and I love you with all my heart, but Dimitri has been working with a team to investigate this and its been leading nowhere except scary attempts. They were at my house Lissa. What are we suppose to do?" I stared at her and her blank face.
"I-I, I don't even know what to say to you Rose, except I don't think you should go. Come stay with my and Christian, just don't go. I want to be there for you when you have your baby, I want to go shopping with you and be a friend with you. How am I suppose to do that if you aren't here." Sometimes, even though she wanted to be serious, she was super cute being her immature self. Her arms now crossed over her chest and her cheeks filled with air. Her blonde hair spilling in waves over her shoulders. Typical Lissa.
"Lissa, you could just come with me. Come live with me." I told her jokingly and walking up to her and embracing her in a hug.
"Come visit all the time, baby will need her auntie with her." Lissa laughed outright. "Im hoping that Dimitri knows what hes talking about you know. I am after all my young self. I am hoping to maybe bond with him more. Even though I knew him in such a short time and was married to him, I still feel as though I need to learn more about him and with our baby I think our bond will be even stronger." I moved away from her.
"I leave in a few days time. Dimitri is just setting everything up with the company and Adrian, and then we will be off to the house in the Cayman islands. Dimitri does want to come back though before baby is born, he wants them to be a citizen of Russia, not the Cayman islands." Lissa nodded smiling at me, and sighed. " I can only wish you the best Rose, and that Dimitris team will catch the person terrorizing you. But when they find them, I will throttle them for threatening my best friend." She hugged me again. " Make sure to keep well. And take care and don't let Dimitri do anything to you. Or ill kick his ass." That made me laugh, picturing a 19 year old Lissa trying to take on Dimitri.
"Come on lets, go back to my house, lets enjoy a girls night tonight. Make Dimitri make us some food." Lissa laughed and for a moment I felt like I had a moment of normalcy.
Please Review! I hope you all enjoyed this 3 Hopefully I wont take forever to post the next chapter.
