A/N: Thanks for reading. Enjoy!

"This is the perfect way to cope after a long day at work." Audrey smiles down at Oliver who has his eyes fixated on her. "I've been meaning to get by here, but I've been busy with work and other things."

"I feel like I'm out of the loop with what's going on with everyone. How's life treating you?"

"Life is good. Daniel and I are still doing well. We have our moments where we can't stand each other, but at the end of the day, I can't imagine not being with him. I felt bad for him the other day when he wasn't able to get his restaurant review in on time. It's not like he didn't try to do it. It's just the words weren't coming to him. Kate was understanding about it. She's been a wonderful boss since you've been gone."

"I knew she'd do well.", I say. "I've still got a few weeks to go before my leave ends, but I look forward to getting back to work."

"We look forward to seeing you.", Audrey smiles as Christian opens the front door. From the lack of a smile, he's not in a good mood, possibly due to my surprise visit to his office today. What was supposed to be the good intention of taking him to lunch ended up with me meeting Jack Hyde, an event that Christian said no to. "Hi Christian."

"Hey.", he mumbles.

"I bet you'd like to hold Oliver."

"I would." He walks over to Audrey and takes Oliver into his arms. "Hey little guy. I missed you." He inhales the sweet baby scent and kisses Oliver. Audrey's gaze meets mine as if she's sensing something is off.

"I've got to get going, but Ana, it was great seeing you and baby Oliver. I'm going to do better with coming by." Audrey stands and smooths down her skirt. "Christian, it was nice seeing you as well."

"You too." I get out of my chair and walk to the door with Audrey, saying goodbye one last time and then closing the door. I turn and see Christian's eyes on me.

"You weren't very hospitable.", I sigh as Gail walks downstairs after changing the sheets on the bed. "Gail, do you think you might have a moment of free time so you can watch Oliver? I need to talk to my husband."

"Of course I will." Christian glares at me before handing Oliver to Gail. I open the study door without looking back to see if he's behind me. I feel his eyes burning to the back of my head as I sit down on the sofa. He remains standing, choosing to lean against the bookshelf opposite me.

"Your attitude is because of me meeting Jack Hyde."

"Which I told you I wasn't ready for.", he scoffs.

"I didn't know he was still there when I arrived at your office."

"Ana, you said that Andrea told you my meeting had gotten pushed back. Didn't it occur to you to leave after hearing that? You knew damn well that Jack was still in the office, and yet you chose to linger so you could meet him."

"That's not at all what happened. I went to your office with hopes of being a nice wife by taking you to lunch. Before I had the chance to leave, you and Jack walked out of your office. From now on, I won't make that mistake.", I hiss. He turns away from me and runs his hands along one of the bookshelves. When he turns back to me, I see that a hint of a smile. He starts towards me, taking one step at a time as if he's unsure.

"I shouldn't have acted like that towards Audrey. I'll call her later to apologize. More importantly, I shouldn't have been so hostile with you. I was caught off guard and not sure how to act with you and Jack in the same room. I believe he's being honest, yet I'm still cautious of him being around my family."

"I understand, and I love you for being protective of us.", I say as he sits down next to me.

"Now that you've met Jack, what are your thoughts?"

"He seems nice and sounded genuine with his plan to become a better person. What I'm curious about is why you gave him a job in the mailroom when he has the computer experience."

"I felt if he's going to become successful he needs to truly work for it by starting at the bottom."

"You're not at all worried he'll somehow find a way to sabotage your company?"

"It's crossed my mind more than once, and it's a thought that I'm going to continue to have for a while. With that being said, I'm not becoming a weakling who's going to turn his head. I'm going to have every single one of Jack's moves watched.", he replies, brushing his fingers over my hand. "I'm well aware of what I'm doing and would like your support."

"You have it. How about we shelf this and go see Oliver. He's probably due for a new diaper." The words diaper change might send some men running away but not Christian. He doesn't mind changing Oliver's diapers.

"Which I'll gladly change.", Christian grins. "I talked to Sawyer this afternoon. His dad had a slight setback yesterday, but he's a little better today. I thought we could go and visit him tomorrow evening if you'd like."

"Sure."

"Ana, Christian, hey.", Sawyer says, standing from his chair in the hospital's waiting room.

"Hi.", Christian and I say at the same time. Christian called Sawyer earlier to tell him that we were going to come by the hospital.

"My mom's in with my dad, and Olivia's in the restroom."

"How's your dad today?", I ask.

"He's hanging in there. The surgery was a success, but the recovery has been a bitch. Sorry about my language. The doctor said if all goes well, Dad will be able to come home at the first of next week. He'll start his chemo the following week." Sawyer looks past me and smiles. When I turn to see what has his attention, I see Olivia heading our way. "I was about to come looking for you."

"I got stopped by an older woman who somehow got on the wrong floor so I offered to help her find the room of her grandson who's here for his knee surgery. Ana, Christian, it's good to see you.", Olivia smiles as I hear a door opening behind us.

"Here comes my mom.", Sawyer tells us. A tall, older woman with gray hair head towardds. "Mom, I'd like for you to meet Christian and Ana Grey. Guys, this is my mother Elaine Sawyer.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Luke speaks highly of both of you."

"It's nice to meet you.", Christian tells her. "You've got a wonderful son. He's not only a security person, but he's also an incredible guy all around."

"We're thankful to him in our lives.", I smile at her. Sawyer wraps his burly frame around his mom while blushing. "We're sorry about your husband's recent health issues."

"Alan's always been a tough and stubborn man, and he's trying his best to keep up that facade even on his bad days. Despite his slight setback yesterday, the doctor is confident in his prognosis. We're grateful for Luke being here with us." She looks over her shoulder. "The same goes for Olivia. She's been a tremendous source of support."

"I've come to think of you and Alan as family, and family is there for one another.", Olivia says. Sawyer keeps one arm around his mother and pulls Olivia into him with his other arm.

"I'm kind of fond of you.", Sawyer teases her.

"Wouldn't you know, I'm kind of fond of you too."

"Mom, is Dad still awake?"

"He is. I know he'd like to meet your friends.", she replies as she looks at Christian and me. Sawyer lets go of both his mother and Olivia and motions for us to follow him into his father's room. Only the glow from a small lamp on a table lights the small room. Even though Sawyer's father is frail from his illness, I'm still able to see the resemblence between the two, especially their eyes and noses.

"Hey Luke.", Sawyer's father says softly. Sawyer sits down in the chair next to the bed and waves at us.

"Dad, I want you to meet Christian and Ana Grey."

"Mr. and Mrs. Grey, I'm Alan Sawyer." His words are almost as frail as him. "Luke really likes working for you."

"We like having him working for us.", I say. "You and your wife have raised an incredible son."

"Elaine and I always made sure to have time for our family. When Luke was younger, I made it a mission to be at every one of his ball games no matter if it was baseball, basketball, or football. I needed to be there. To this day I remember having to work late the night of his last high school basketball game. My boss assured me that I'd be off in time to be at the game, but one of the machines at the factory messed up and caused everything to be behind. I felt awful, but Luke called me during half time and told me it was ok if I missed. I knew he was being honest, yet I couldn't help but feel bad. I managed to get off work and drive to the school." He's crying while staring at Sawyer. "I walked into the gym just as my son hit the game winning goal right at the buzzer."

"I thought Dad was going to get out in the middle of the floor and do cartwheels.", Sawyer laughs. "It's a moment that's stayed with both us and not only because of the goal. It's the idea of family and being there for each other. The reason why I'm the man I am is thanks to my parents. They've been my pillars of strength, and now it's my turn to be their rocks."

"You're doing a damn good job.", Christian says.
