"I know the entire girl calling issue is still a sore subject, but have you figured out how she got your number?", I ask Elliot. Christian and I were in the middle of a lazy Saturday when we decided to go for a drive with Elliot and Kate's being our first stop.

"I haven't the slightest idea. If she had called my work number, I'd understand how she might have gotten the number. It's listed on my business cards and in the phone book. However, she called my personal number which I don't give out to random people."

"I suggested one of his so called friends might have done it.", Kate mutters with air quotes. "David, one of Elliot's foremen, has always acted like he doesn't like me." Elliot shifts forward in his chair and shakes his head. "Elliot, you've seen how he acts whenever I'm around him. The guy barely says a word, and when he does, it's only one syllable ones such as yes or no. It's almost as if it's going to pain him to say one more word."

"David's not a very talkative person.", Elliot shrugs. "He pretty much shows up, does his work, and then heads home. The other night was one of the very few times he's been out with all the guys from work. If and I mean if one of the guys did give my number out, David's the last one I'd suspect."

"I've never met this David guy, but sometimes the ones you least expect of doing something are the ones you need to watch.", Christian says while Oliver yawns in his arms. "Is the number still on your phone?"

"Yeah."

"I'll get it from you and have Welch try and find out exactly who this Jill is."

"Elliot and I still have work to do on us. I could have handled the situation better. I refused to hear Elliot out which I regret, and I've apologized for.", Kate says.

"And I've accepted the apology.", Elliot replies. "If I had been in Kate's shoes, I might have reacted the same way. Both of us have work to do in the communication aspect of our relationship." Kate's eyes fall to the floor as she nervously taps her foot.

"Um..I have a confession to make.", Kate stammers. "It's one of the reasons why I was so quick to distrust Elliot. The other day, I met my mom for lunch. It was going well until she said she had something to tell me. My mom recently found out my dad had an affair last year. He said it's over and has been for some time, but he cheated."

"Kate, I'm sorry.", I sigh. Things are slowly starting to make sense. "How long did it last?"

"About three months. He met the woman at the dry cleaners of all places. She was a new employee and just coming out of long term relationship, and my dad apparently felt underappreciated by my mother. According to him, nothing he did ever felt good enough, and the other woman made him good about himself. They started off as friends who would get coffee, and then it slowly started becoming more. Three months into the affair, my dad started realizing he was making a mistake. I'd say that's putting it lightly. He called it off. It was only after he and my mom saw the other woman at a resturant that he confessed."

"Damn. That's a lot to digest.", Christian says. "Where does your parents' relationship stand now?"

"My mom's hurting, but she still loves my dad. Walking away from almost thirty years of marriage isn't something she wants to do. My dad's vowed to never betray her again, yet it's not like things can magically fall right themselves." Kate's tilts her head towards Elliot and smiles slightly. "I've seen my parents argue and knew they've had their differences, but learning that my dad cheated shook me. I deflected my feelings on to my relationship with Elliot."

"I wish I could ease some of the pain Kate's feeling towards what took place with her parents' marriage, but like I told her, we're not them. Their relationship is completely different than ours. I don't want what happens with them to affect what happens with us.", Elliot says.

"Ethan doesn't know yet, but my parents are going to tell him. My brother's strong and stubborn so I don't think my parents' mess interfere with his relationship with Max." I get up and move over next to Kate, putting my hand on hers.

"You're also strong and stubborn.", I tell her while she giggles. "You've already made steps in moving forward by understanding why you reacted the way did. I have faith that you and Elliot are going to get through this because you belong together."

"So much for our lazy Saturday being uneventful.", Christian murmurs as he joins me in the living room where I'm still trying to comprehend all that Kate divulged. Sitting down next to me on the sofa, he runs his hands through my hair.

"I'm sure Kate would rather have an uneventful day as well.", I scoff. "I can't believe her dad cheated. Almost thirty years of marriage is a big deal."

"In this day and age, it's a very big deal although our marriage is going to last forever. I'm going to summarize Elliot's words, we're not Kate's parents. We've been through too much to let anything get in our way. We're fighters."

"Absolutely. We're fighters.", I smirk as I playfully draw my fists up. "Grrr."

"I'm so turned on right now.", he whispers against my neck. "I want to be deep inside you." My panties dampen as I clench my thighs together. "I know you want that too."

"Very much." I manage to stand on my wobbly legs, and then I pull Christian to the floor. "Race you to the bedroom." Before the last word is out of my mouth, he's racing up the stairs, but I'm not too far behind. We get upstairs and slow down so we don't wake Oliver. Once our bedroom door is closed, we start kissing passionately. My hands go to the zipper of his pants just as Oliver begins crying. Christian laughs and kisses me one last time before going to the nursery. I adjust myself and pad into the room where Christian's changing Oliver's diaper.

"You wanted that dirty diaper off, huh? I don't blame you.", Christian coos to Oliver. "You're going to feel much better." As Christian reaches down and kisses Oliver's cheek, Oliver's tiny hand touches the side of his face. "Aww." Christian turns his head towards me. "Did you see that?"

"I did. Very sweet. Oliver loves his daddy."

"He sure does, and he loves his mommy."

"I appreciate it. Now go out and have a leisurely day. You deserve it.", Christian's telling the person on the other end of his phone conversation. I hand him a steaming hot cup of coffee which he happily accepts as he sits at his study desk. "Bye." He sets the phone down and smiles.

"I hope that smile is about something good."

"Welch called with the information on mystery Jill. Her full name is Jillian Wright She's twenty-four and works at Bella's, a boutique. He's going to email me a copy of her driver's license." Christian glares at his computer screen and nods for me to take a look. "This is her." The woman's blonde hair cascades down her shoulder while she gives a tooth baring grin to the camera

"Now that we've got her full name and information, what's next?"

"I'm going to tell Elliot what Welch found. He said he only talked to her for a few minutes, but maybe there's something about her background that he'll recognize. I checked out the online site for the boutique she works at, and it doesn't seem like the place Elliot would shop. It's possible Kate's been there, and this entire thing could be some sort of revenge plot against her." I move away from the desk and sit on the edge of the sofa. "What are you thinking?"

"I'm thinking how pissed off I am at this girl who I've never met. She for whatever reason has decided to cause trouble for two of the people I love the most. Kate and Elliot have gotten us through many hurdles, and I'm going to make damn sure I'm there to return the favor."

"I'll be by your side the entire time."

"Before you tell us what Welch found, Kate and I want to say thanks.", Elliot says. "Thanks to both of you for helping." He and Kate are seated side by side opposite Christian and me at the kitchen table.

"It's time like this where we the love shines through.", Kate adds, folding her hand over Elliot's. She shifts her eyes to the folder in front of Christian. "Open it."

"This isn't a complete background. Welch was able to find some major details, but there's still we don't know.", Christian says as he opens the folder and pulls out the photo of Jill.

"She's pretty.", Kate tells Elliot.

"She doesn't hold a candle to you.", Elliot replies. His face falls flat while looking at the page that holds details on Jill.

"Is something ringing a bell?", I ask. "Possibly the boutique she works at?"

"No.", Elliot answers. "Her last name is Wright. Fuck." He rolls his head back on his shoulders and pushes the file away. "David, the guy who Kate said doesn't like her, has the last name of Wright. It's not unusual for people to have the same last name and not be related, but in this case, it's unlikely." Christian grabs the file and begins scanning the sentences.

"A brother isn't mentioned.", Christian murmurs. "But they could be cousins."

"Conspiring cousins.", Kate hisses. "I know he doesn't like me, but does he hate me that much to go to such extremes?" She pushes her chair back and jumps to her feet. "Elliot, give me his address so I can go to his house and kick his ass. When I'm done, I'm going to go and have a little chit chat with Jill. The two of them are barking up the wrong tree."

"Kate, I'm just as angry as you, but we need to deal with this the right way. I don't want either of us to end up on the other side of a jail cell because that'll only make things worse."

"Elliot's right.", I tell Kate. "You wearing an orange jumpsuit could end up only pleasing David."

"Orange isn't my color.", Kate scoffs.
