A/N: Thanks for reading. Enjoy!

"Elliot's going to confront David tomorrow.", Christian says. He adjusts Oliver's left sock to keep it from falling off. "Elliot wanted to do it yesterday and then today, but David was out of town."

"How convenient.", I murmur while sitting in the large arm chair across from the sofa where Christian's sitting with the baby.

"Elliot said the vacation days were scheduled weeks ago so he doesn't think the timing has any relation to David's suspected interference in Elliot and Kate's relationship. Still, he's going to bring David into his office and ask him point blank about Jill Wright. He's not going to let the guy think he got away with his ploy."

"There could be several reasons why David wanted to cause trouble between Elliot and Kate, but I'm starting to lean towards the idea that he has a thing for Kate. Maybe the reason why he doesn't talk much around her is because he's nervous about saying the wrong thing. He could have finally gotten to the point where he was ready to take a chance at getting Kate."

"I initially thought it might be because of some hidden hatred for Kate, but the having feelings angle is at the top of my list as well.", Christian says as the doorbell rings. I get up and walk to the door, finding Elliot and Max standing before me.

"Hey you two.", I tell them as I step away from the door and wave them inside the house.

"Max and I were on our way home from dinner with my parents, Kate, and Elliot, and I didn't really want to go home yet.", Ethan murmurs. "Is it ok we stopped here?"

"Sure.", Christian replies. "Come in and have a seat." Our newly arrived guests take a seat on the love seat while I sit back down. Kate said her parents were going to tell Ethan about their father's affair, and I'm wondering if that took place at dinner.

"Hi Oliver.", Max smiles. It's only then that I see Ethan's face lighten up.

"Hey buddy.", Ethan says. He smiles at Oliver for several minutes before his face once again falls flat. "You guys already know about my dad." Christian and I quickly glance at each other. "Kate and I had a conversation before we left my parents' house. It was following the dinner during which my dad dropped the bombshell that he cheated on my mom."

"Ethan, I'm sorry. Kate told us the other night. I feel guilty for hearing about it before you.", I say.

"It's ok. Kate filled me in on what's been going on with Elliot and how my dad's affair affected her. This David guy from Elliot's work is the mastermind?"

"It's what we suspect.", Christian answers. "Elliot's going to find out some answers tomorrow when he talks to David."

"Why do people feel the urge to cause trouble for others? I want to punch that David and tell him he's messed with the wrong people.", Ethan hisses. "I'm sorry for letting my emotions get the best of me."

"You've had a lot thrown at you.", Max says as he places a hand on Ethan's. "It's kind of expected."

"My parents haven't had the picture perfect marriage. I've been a witness to some of their arguments, but cheating is on an entirely different level. My dad broke his marriage vows. I still love him, but my opinion of him has changed."

"He did a terrible thing, but I think it's good that both he and your mom want to work things out.", I sigh.

"I do too. They still love each other. They just need to sort through their problems in order for them to get back to where they belong."

"And they just might end up in a much better place than ever before.", Max says.

"I wish nausea wasn't a part of pregnancy.", Sawyer mutters over his coffee. I sit at the kitchen table and narrow my eyes at him. "Olivia's nausea has been terrible the past few days."

"I remember those days all too well. Make sure she stays hydrated. Also have lots of ginger ale on hand. It comes in handy."

"I'm not sure if she likes ginger ale."

"I used to not like it, but I realized during my pregnancy that it wasn't so bad.", I laugh.

"I'll make sure to pick up some this afternoon. Thanks for the advice.", he says while heading to the doorway with his coffee. "Have I mentioned how good it is to be back?"

"Maybe a time or two." He laughs softly and leaves the room. I go back over the sink and start cleaning some of Oliver's bottle until a pair of strong yet calming arms wrap around my waist.

"I'm glad you're here, but we have to hurry since my husband is going to be home any minute."

"Not funny.", Christian mumbles, turning me around and planting a kiss on my lips. "Is the baby sleeping?"

"Yep. Why do you have something in mind?", I ask, biting my lip.

"Only telling you how Elliot's meeting with David went.", he smirks as he releases me and sits down at the table.

"Ordinarily, I'd be frustrated...well more frustrated than I already am, but I'm anxious to hear what you have to tell me." I sit down across from him and prop my chin on my hand.

"I called Elliot earlier, and he said he'd call me back later when he was cooled off enough. Hearing that alone made me realize things didn't go well. I had a meeting so I couldn't leave to check on him, and I also wanted to respect his wishes. Finally, this afternoon, he came by my office to talk even though his anger is still very present. When David was late this morning, Elliot started wondering if he was going to show up, but he finally did about an hour later. He overslept, and his phone was dead."

"I hope Elliot didn't feel bad for the guy having a bad start to the day."

"Not at all. Elliot waited until the others started heading out to the house they're working on, but before David could leave, he called him into his office. Elliot asked him squarely in the eye if he had anything to do with Jill getting his number. David lied at first, saying he didn't know why Elliot would think such a thing. Elliot then revealed how he found out Jill's last name is Wright, the same as David who naturally said it was a coincidence."

"I knew the guy was going to lie through his teeth.", I sigh. "Go on."

"Elliot wasn't backing down. He brought up the irony of David going out with the guys on the same night they saw Jill at the bar. He also mentioned how David barely utters a word to Kate when she's around. David just sat there and shook his head. Elliot told him the two theories, either David doesn't like Kate or David does like Kate and wants to cause trouble. To help get David closer to confessing, Elliot made the comment that no matter which of the theories was correct he and Kate weren't going to let anything or anyone break them up. David's ears perked up. He finally told Elliot that he's had feelings for Kate for a while, and he doesn't feel like Elliot deserves Kate. When the guys arrived at the bar on their guys night, David saw his cousin Jill, and that's when the lightbulb went off in his head. Jill came over and talked to the guys, but Elliot paid her no mind. However, David was determined to make his plan work. He gave Elliot's number to Jill with hopes of calling Elliot and tempting him."

"But Kate answering the phone worked to David's advantage as well."

"Yep. Elliot said he wanted to jump across the desk and beat David, but the little voice inside his head told him it would only make matters worse. Instead, he ordered David out of the office and off the property. If he sees him again, Elliot's bad thoughts will become a reality."

"I'm relieved for Elliot and Kate. They took a hit but have gotten back up. They now have answers."
