Hi, I'm not dead! Sorry for not updating sooner. It's only been a few months, right? *Laughs nervously* I'm going to try and write and deal with school. Thanks for all of you who stayed and waited for a new chapter! It's means a lot! I wanted to get this up as soon as possible so it might have a few problems and I still don't have a beta. Enjoy!

(Eds Pov)

Ed sat up in one of the large trees planted near the large mansion. He was looking down as Roy, who was trying to scale the large tree, with a satisfied smirk "Having trouble down there?" he asked, trying to hold back a snort of laughter. Being a cat had been incredibly helpful in this situation. He had been able to scale the tree with ease and he got to watch the Colonel struggle up the tree.

"Shut up!" Roy snapped, temporarily losing his grip. Cursing he held to the tree tighter. His face gleamed with sweat and his hands were starting to cramp up. Ed snickered and turned his attention to the other trees around the house. They were all tall trees with high branches, making it almost impossible for anyone to reach high enough to get into the house. Ed had suggested they try and get in through the windows, the only problem with that was the closed windows where on the second floor.

"It's about time you got here." Ed complained as Roy drug himself onto the branch. Even with all his years of training it had been hard for the colonel to climb the tree "Let's get going." He turned and jumped over to the window. He pushed against the glass and hummed appreciatively as the window opened with nothing but a creak.

Poking his head into the room he scanned the area for anything that could be a problem. The room was cluttered, and that was being kind. Boxes and other loosed object covered almost every inch of the room. And to add to the mess everything was covered with a thick layer of dust. Ed jumped down, landing on one of the box towers, sending a cloud of dust up into the air "It's all good." He called out to Roy, coughing softly.

Roy squeezed through the window and almost fell into the room. "What a mess." He complained lowering himself down. He stood and covered his mouth, waving away the cloud of dust. Slowly making his way through the cluttered room he shoved aside a large box that had half covered the only visible door "Let's get out of here."

Ed nodded and scampered after him, gracefully jumping over the stacks of books and trinkets.

The door opened into a long hallway. Ed glanced down the long corridor, to their left it led to a dead end and to the right where more doors "This might take a while." Ed sighed.

"Actually it probably won't be that hard." Roy said, kneeling down, he traced a line across the ground, leaving a mark in the dust "I bet we could find him if we just found the tracks, he obviously isn't here." He gestured to the mark less dust around them.

Nodding Ed started to walk down the hall, he squinted as the dust assaulted his eyes "I hate being small!" he snapped.

"There isn't much of a difference then before." Roy said, a smirk played across his face.

Ed growled with irritation and glared up at him "I'm not, and was never short you-" he coughed, cutting his insult short.

(Roys Pov)

It was easy to find them. After wandering around in the halls they found the stairs. After nearly falling down after he tripped on a lose board and after Ed getting stuck in a hole they had finally found the rooms where the alchemist must live.

"There clean compared to the rest of the rooms." Ed commented, running his paw along the top of a stand "We must be getting close." He hopped up onto the desk and pushed aside the papers with his nose, looking over the writing.

Roy walked along the rows of books that lined the shelves "They are all alchemy books." He commented

"No way," Ed said sarcastically "It's not like he's and alchemist or anything."

"Don't be sarcastic with me shorty…" Roy growled. He ignored the indignant hiss from the cat and pulled out one of the few books that didn't have a name. Just as he opened the book the door opened.

"I see you finally got here."

Ed and Roy jumped back. The Mind Alchemist stood in the door, his arms behind his back a pleasant smile split his face "I was wondering what took you so long."

"Where's Al?" Ed asked, his fur puffed out.

"Now, now." The alchemist cackled "I don't want you to take away my toy's." he snapped his fingers. A large shape appeared behind him "Why don't you play with my friend for a while." The tall man walked into the room, his muscles shoulders barley fitting in the small door frame. Laughing the old alchemist disappeared behind him.

"Hey!" Ed yowled. He ran after him, dodging the tall man's hand and slipping out of the room.

"Ed wait-"Roy was about to follow but his escape was cut off by the man's large shape.

"I have to keep you here." He rumbled, his voice low "Master wouldn't want both of the rats escaping.

Looks like I'll have to fight. Roy jumped back as the floor where he had been standing was smashed by a large meaty fist. He pulled a white glove from his pocket and quickly snapped. The floor in front of the gorilla-like man exploded. But this wasn't an ordinary man. He yelled and walked through the flames, the fire barely affecting him, not even searing his skin.

"This'll be rough."

(Ed's Pov)

Ed sprinted after the quickly disappearing shape of the Mind Alchemist. He definitely lived up to his name. One moment he was just in Ed's grasp and the next he was half way across the room. He flickered and disappeared as soon as Ed thought he had caught him. The chase went through the winding halls and through room.

With a laugh the alchemist slipped into through a crack into a pair of large doors. Ed burst into the room and froze. In a cage in the corner of the room was his brother "Al!" he took a step towards his brother and was pushed aside by a large shape.

He skidded across the floor, rolling to his paws. He turned and…. Came face to face with his own body.

"Welcome to my workshop."

Ed turned and saw the Mind Alchemist calmly sitting in a chair across the large room, he smiled "As you know, I switched the minds of you and my cat," he gestured to Ed "You switched bodies as well so I now have full control over yours."

Cat Ed watched in horror as his, or his human body jumped back landing next to the alchemist "He has been of great help." The man purred stroking human Ed's head.

Shivering, Ed stumbled back. "Don't touch me!" he snarled, steadying himself.

Cackling, the crazed alchemist continued to stroke human Ed's hair "What can you do?" He asked "You're a cat." When Ed didn't reply he continued "I should have my little pet kill you where you stand." He mused over his options "Or maybe I could have him kill your brother." He smiled crookedly "I'll let you have a chance to save him, defeat your human counterpart in a battle and I won't kill your brother," he snapped his fingers and human Ed fell into a battle stance "Or escape now. What is your choice?"

Alrighty! Did you like the chapter? I'm thinking that this will have probably one or two more chapters so get psyched for the exciting finale! Please review!
