With trembling hands, Emma straightened his hair as usual, for the last time. Tears spilled down her face as she struggled to accept the truth; her little boy, the most optimistic, wonderful kid you could ever meet, was gone. She leant down to him and whispered three words she had never told him before.
"I love you Henry," and kissed his forehead, saying goodbye. But when she kissed him, a ray of light flew from them in a circle, touching everyone in the room. Henry opened his eyes, sat up and said,
"I love you too mum." Smiling at each other, they hugged, Emma squeezing him and henry burying his face in her hair. All around, people were coming into the room and staring at them, and Emma was confused. But before she could say anything, the ground started to shake and purple smoke filled the room, surrounding them. Her hair flew around her face, and she pulled henry under the bed, holding him close to her and closing her eyes.
When the noise and movement stopped Emma dared to take a look around to see what had happened and found herself in a familiar place… it must be the enchanted forest, the place from henry's book. But it looked a bit different, more bare and deserted and less happy. Well it had been apparently 28 years since the curse happened, she thought to herself. Henry got up and said, "is this the enchanted forest? Mum, you did it! You broke the curse!"
"I think you're right, kid," she replied, seeing all the people of the town standing up and gradually realising where they were; home, at last.
Snow got up, disoriented from the memories rushing back to her, and her first thought was for her prince. The last time she had seen him in Storybrooke she had rejected him, and she had to show him that she did love him and want him, and that she was sorry for what had happened. Looking around she saw that he was also standing up, and she ran towards him.
"Charming!" she shouted, smiling. He turned to see her as she got to him, and throwing her arms around his neck she kissed him with all the passion they had missed for 28 years. After the kiss, with her forehead leaned against his, she remembered Emma. "Now I have to find my daughter," she said to him.
"So it's true," came Emma's voice from behind them, and turning around, Snow held her daughter's face in her hands.
"You found us," she said, tears gathering in her eyes, and she pulled Emma into a hug. David joined the hug, and Henry said "Grandpa?" addressing him.
"Yeah I guess so kid" David replied, laughing, and they stayed in their hug for a few minutes, until Emma extracted herself, looking around.
"So…" she said "What do we do now?"
