A/N: Thanks for reading. Enjoy!

"I'm so sorry.", I tell Sawyer while hugging him in the hallway of the hospital. He pulls away and nods somberly. Christian then opens his arms and hugs him. We headed to the hospital almost immediately after learning of the car accident which claimed Sawyer's father's life and injured his mother.

"Yes. We're very sorry.", Christian says.

"Thank you.", Sawyer murmurs. "My mom's resting. The pain medicine has been keeping her out. She woke up once and asked for my dad. I opened my mouth to tell her, but I couldn't bring myself to say he's gone. My dad's dead. She started crying once she realized where he was." At the end of the hallway, I see Olivia emerging from the elevator.

"Hey. I went to the cafeteria to get Luke some coffee. Even though he said he wasn't hungry, I also got him a blueberry muffin." She turns to Sawyer and holds out the coffee and muffin in her hands.

"I didn't want anything but thank you." He kisses her cheek and accepts the coffee and muffin. "How about you go and get something to eat?"

"I will soon.", Olivia says. "Let's go over here and sit down?" Christian places his hand on the small of my back as we make our way to the row of chairs in the waiting room. Having sat down on the off white sofa with Olivia beside him, Sawyer opens the wrapping of his muffin, tears it in half and hands part of it to Olivia. "Thanks."

"How's your mother's condition?", Christian asks.

"She's going to make a full recovery, but it's going to be a long road.", Sawyer replies. "I appreciate the two of you being here, but I'm sure you've both got a lot to do today. Christian, you have a billion dollar company to run, and Ana has Oliver and other things going on."

"I didn't have a lot going on at the office today."

"And Oliver is with Gail. Sawyer, we're here because we want to be here for you. We want to do whatever we can.", I tell him. He sets his muffin down and covers his eyes. When he moves his hands, he has a steady stream of tears.

"Can you bring my dad back?", he mutters. "I talked to him just before he and my mom left for their trip. He was so happy that they were going to get away and have a nice time. He never got that chance. The one good thing is just before we ended the call, he said he and my mom loved me, and I said I loved them."

"I can't sit here and try to tell you why this horrific thing happened, but I can tell you that your dad is looking down on you at this very moment. He's going to continue to watch over you. When your baby comes, he's going to be smiling down.", Christian says.

"He was looking forward to the baby. I'm going to make sure the baby knows all about his or her grandfather." Sawyer blows out a breath and rubs the back of his neck. "I've got to plan the service. I'm not sure what kind of details I need to work on, but I know the service won't be until my mom is released which is going to be in a few days."

"I'll be right by your side to help with the planning. I don't want you to overwhelm yourself.", Olivia tells Sawyer. He locks his hand with hers and smiles the best he can.

"I'm glad you're here." He then looks at Christian and me. "I'm also glad you guys are here."

"We meant what we said about doing whatever you need for us to do.", Christian says as Taylor slowly heads our way. He stops in front of Sawyer who stands and embraces him. It's times like this that show how strong bonds are, and the one between Sawyer and Taylor is incredibly strong.

"I wanted to come up sooner, but I didn't know what to say. I'm at a loss for words. I had the pleasure of meeting your dad twice, and in those two meetings, I saw the greatness in him.", Taylor says. "He was so proud of you."

"Oliver's upstairs in his crib.", Gail says upon our return home. "I'm not even going to attempt to ask how Sawyer's holding up."

"He's doing as well as to be expected.", I reply, staggering to the stairs. "I'm going to go see Oliver." Christian's at my side with his hand in mine while we head to the nursery. He eases the door open, and we tiptoe over to the crib where we see Oliver sleeping peacefully.

"Days like today really put things into perspective.", Christian whispers. "It makes realize even more how fragile life is and how you need to tell those around you how much they mean to you. Ana, you and Oliver, the two of you are my world, and I love the two of you more and more every day."

"You're the best husband and father anyone could ever ask for, and we love you." Oliver stirs in the crib, yawning but not waking up. "Isn't he the cutest?"

"Definitely."

We watch Oliver another ten minutes or so before going back downstairs. Christian goes into the study to check on things at work while I sit down on the sofa to rest. I flip through the channels on the tv but find nothing worth watching. Yesterday was a highlight in my life with my mom and dad's engagement, yet today couldn't be more different. I'm on the verge of drifting off to sleep when the doorbell rings. I bring myself to my feet and go to the door. When I open it, I see Kate and Elliot.

"Hi.", I say softly. "Come in."

"I got off work a little early, and Elliot and I were on our way to the hospital. We wanted to stop by here first.", Kate says as they sit down in side by side arm chairs. "Hospitals have always kind of weirded me out, but I want to go and see Sawyer and his mom as well as Olivia. How was it when you and Christian were there?" I texted Kate earlier to let her know that Christian and I were going to the hospital.

"It was pretty emotional."

"I just can't believe how Sawyer's dad was doing so well with his cancer treatments. He had turned the corner.", Elliot adds. Christian steps out from the study and into the living room. "Hey bro."

"Hey.", Christian smiles.

"I told Ana we wanted to stop by here on our way to the hospital.", Kate tells Christian. "It's crazy how things can take place in the blink of an eye."

"I agree. This morning, I was recalling some good news I heard last night, and I made the comment about life being good. It wasn't long afterwards that Olivia called and told us about the accident."

"Elliot asks, raising a brow. "Please share with us this good news."

"I...don't know.", I stammer.

"Ana, come on. I think we all need some good news.", Kate says. "I'll guess if you want me to. Hmm. You're pregnant again?"

"No. Why did you ask that? Do I look pregnant?"

"You don't. I was simply making guesses about the good news."

"The good news is in relation to my parents. My dad asked my mom to marry him, and she said yes." I feel the happiness return as I tell my parents' news.

"Oh my gosh Ana!", Kate shrieks. "I'm so happy for them and for you."

"Thanks. I hoped they would eventually get to that step, but I didn't know it was going to come so soon. Of course I'm not complaining."

"This is certainly some good news we could use.", Elliot says.

"Olivia said Kate and Elliot brought some burgers to the hospital. She managed to convince Sawyer to eat one. Besides the muffin he had earlier, he hasn't ate. He's been running on coffee.", I sigh after talking to Olivia over the phone. Christian climbs on to the bed and leans against the headboard.

"I'm going to pay for his dad's funeral and other expenses.", Christian says. "I wish there was more I could do, but at least he and his mother won't have to worry about paying for the funeral."

"I know they'll appreciate it." I crawl on to the bed and yawn. "I'm exhausted."

"Me too. I've got a meeting tomorrow, but it's not until two so I'm not going into the office until later."

"That'll allow you to get some extra sleep.", I tell him.

"Maybe a little more sleep, but it's mainly to spend a some extra time with you and Oliver. I want to relish as much time as I can with you and our son."

"Maybe we can go to the park. Oliver likes it when we push him around the walking track. He also loves watching the birds."

"The park is a good idea.", he grins.

"Any way of spending time together is a good idea."
