(Welcome to my latest chapter, readers. I hope you're ready for more excitement, and two new characters. Enjoy.)
After the Chunin Exam preliminaries, Kakashi, Naruto, and Sakura headed to the hospital to see Sasuke and inform him of the events that happened after his match in the opening.
Inside a hospital room, Sasuke was sitting up in bed, with his sensei and teammates gathered around. He spoke up in shock, "Sakura, you can Earthbend?"
"I'm just as shocked as anyone." Sakura admitted.
Kakashi nodded, "Yes. And now all three of you have a spot in the finals, but only a month to prepare."
"So how exactly is this going to work, sensei?" Naruto inquired.
"Well, I can't exactly train Sakura to Earthbend so I would be of no real help to her," he explained, "Sasuke however is much more suited for my training with his Sharingan, plus against Gaara's ultimate defense I have a jutsu that can help him get past it."
"You do?" Sasuke asked, and Kakashi nodded.
Kakashi turned to Naruto, "But for you, Naruto..."
Naruto squinted suspiciously that Kakashi didn't know what to do, until the door opened, and Hiruzen stepped inside.
"Well, good afternoon, Squad Seven."
"Sandaime-sama, we were just discussing what to do for the monthly training." Kakashi explained.
"And it sounds like sensei's looking to train Sasuke only." Naruto answered, while crossing his arms.
"Yes, and it's a good thing too." the Hokage agreed.
"What?" Naruto asked.
"I have put in a word for someone to train you already, Naruto."
"You have? Who is it?"
"He should be here later on today, but I will inform you of his arrival."
"Well, ok, but now there's the matter of Sakura. Now that she's found her inner strength she needs someone who can train her in the art." Naruto said.
"And I assume you've already deduced the proper instructor?" Hiruzen asked, and Naruto smirked.
"I have."
"Who, Naruto?" Sakura asked.
"I'll let you know soon, but for now I think you deserve some answers." Naruto reminded her.
"Oh, right. I gotta talk to my parents." Sakura said.
"And I wanna be there as well." Naruto added.
"Well, then come on. I'll see you all later." Sakura said, as the two left the room.
Naruto and Sakura walked through the village before stopping in front of Sakura's home. Sakura opened the door, and called out, "I'm home."
Sakura's parents Kizashi and Mebuki came down, "Sakura, welcome back." Mebuki greeted her.
"Hmm, still in one piece," Kizashi noticed, and chuckled, "I knew nothing could bring my daughter down. Not even the Chunin Exams."
"How did it go?" Mebuki asked.
Naruto spoke up, "Your daughter, myself, and Sasuke advanced to the finals."
The two adults were taken aback by Naruto's appearance, "Why, Naruto. We weren't expecting our daughter to bring a friend home." Mebuki said.
"It's nice to meet you two, but your daughter has something she wants to ask you both."
The two looked at their daughter, as Mebuki asked, "What is it, Sakura?"
Sakura approached her parents, and spoke up, "Mom. Dad... Does either one of you know how to Earthbend?"
Her parents were surprised at Sakura's question, as Kizashi spoke, "Why do you ask?"
"Because during the Chunin Exams, I discovered I can move the ground and rocks. Or Earthbend." she answered.
"Sakura..." Her mom said in concern.
"Please, tell me the truth." their daughter pleaded.
The two looked concerned, before Naruto spoke, "Tell her. Because I'm interested as well."
Kizashi sighed, "Ok. It's about time you knew the truth about my side of the family, Sakura."
"I'm all ears." Sakura replied.
Kizashi explained, "You see, Sakura. I was born and raised in a place known as the Earth Empire. A place far from the great ninja nations. I was born an Earthbender; someone capable of manipulating the earth and rock. But one day I decided to move away from the Empire and make a living on my own. So I traveled far and ended up relocating to the the village of Konoha in the land of Fire. I kept my Earthbending a secret from everyone, except for your mother. When we had you, I had wondered if my bending ability had passed onto you, as some children have inherited the gift of bending from their parents who could also bend."
Mebuki continued, "We've watched you very closely, but when you've shown no sign of the ability to Earthbend we assumed that you didn't receive the gift."
"Well, mom. I can." Sakura assured her.
Mebuki turned to Naruto, "So now you see that our daughter is quite special."
"Well, she's not the only one who can bend." Naruto admitted.
"What do you mean?" Kizashi asked.
"I can also perform bending, but not just one. All forms of bending."
"All forms?" Mebuki asked in confusion.
Kizashi suddenly looked surprise, "But only one person has had the ability to bend all the elements, and that's..."
"The Avatar? I know." Naruto answered, as he presented himself.
Kizashi continued to look in shock, "Sweetie, we have the Avatar in our house."
"And it's our daughters friend and teammate." Mebuki added in shock.
The adults looked at each other, before bursting with joyous cheers and laughs, "How lucky are we to actually have a living incarnated legend in our home?" Kizashi asked with wonder.
"It's too good to be true!" Mebuki cheered, as the two continued to express their overjoyed reactions.
Naruto laughed a bit awkwardly, while Sakura felt embarrassed. Naruto looked at his friend and spoke, "They're sure taking this well."
"Ugh, my parents always get this way." Sakura rolled her eyes.
Naruto spoke up to the adults, "I'm flattered to see how well you two are taking that I'm the Avatar, but I should tell you Sakura would require a Bending instructor to help her prepare for the Chunin Exam Finals."
The two adults ceased their joyous ranting, as Kizashi spoke, "You're right. Well, I may not be what I used to be, but I think I can teach Sakura a thing or two."
"Thanks, dad." Sakura smiled.
"Yes, but I also have someone in mind that can help both of you."
"Who did you have in mind?" Mebuki inquired.
"My old Earthbending instructor Master Bolin."
Kizashi's eyes widened, "Master Bolin? One of the greatest Earthbenders since Toph Beifong?"
Naruto nodded, "That's right. He trained me in Earthbending for six years. If anyone else besides you can teach Sakura, it's him."
"That's a splendid idea. But will he come?" Kizashi asked.
"Don't worry, I can put in a word to him to come out. He's not doing too much these days anyway."
Sakura turned to him, "Thanks, Naruto. I really appreciate this."
"No problem at all, Sakura. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to check in with Jiji. Maybe the guy he brought in to train me is here now."
"I'll see you later, Naruto." Sakura said.
"Later." Naruto left the house, and took off.
Naruto had arrived at the building and knocked on the window of the Hokage's office. When Hiruzen saw Naruto, he opened the window allowing him inside.
"Welcome, Naruto. You're just in time."
"Does that mean my instructor is finally here?" Naruto asked hopefully.
"Yes and no."
"What does that mean?"
"Your instructor is in the village, just not here at my office."
Naruto let out an exasperated sigh, "So then where is he?"
"Follow me and I'll take you to him." Hiruzen said, as he went out the window followed by Naruto.
The two walked through Konoha, before stopping at the hotsprings area. Naruto looked around curiously, "Is this where he is?"
Hiruzen sighed, "Unfortunately, yes."
"Why do you sound disappointed, Jiji?"
"You'll find out soon enough." The Hokage answered, as they continued to look around.
Suddenly a perverted giggle could be heard, and they looked over and saw an old man trying to peek into the woman's bath. Naruto looked outraged, while Hiruzen face palmed.
Naurto whispered, "Are you serious?"
Hiruzen nodded, "Yes. But trust me, despite what you're seeing there's more to him."
Naruto sighed, "Well, might as well get his attention." he noticed the hot water in the stream pouring from the bathhouse. He smirked and started bending some of the water until it was above the peeping old man.
Naruto released the water and it dropped onto the old man. He screamed in pain from the waters heat which alerted all the women I the bathhouse to flee.
"NO!" the old man cried, "All the girls!" he frowned and spun around, "All right who's the wise guy who interrupted my..." he saw Hirzuen in plain sight, "Oh, sensei. How long have you been standing there?" he asked sheepishly.
"Long enough." Hiruzen answered dryly.
Jiraiya chuckled sheepishly, before explaining, "I was on my way to your office, but you know I can't resist a good chance for research."
The Hokage sighed, "Yes, Jiraiya, I know."
Naruto was confused, "Research? What kind of research?"
Jiraiya looked and saw Naruto, "Oh, so this is the boy you asked me to train, sensei?"
"Precisely. Naruto, meet Jiraiya, one of my former pupils. Jiraiya, this is Naruto Uzumaki."
Jiraiya looked at Naruto and smiled, "Well, it's nice to finally meet you, Naruto."
Naruto was unsure, "I suppose I should say the feelings mutual," he realized, "Hold on, you're Jiji's student?"
"That's right. I am Jiraiya the Mountain Toad sage!" he struck a dramatic pose.
Naruto looked unimpressed, "You really shouldn't do that. And what research are you doing in a place like this?"
"Well, kid. I'm a writer and this place is the perfect source for finding inspiration for my books."
"And what book is that?"
"Behold." Jiraiya held up a copy of Kakashi's favorite book.
Naruto realizing what Jiraiya writes looked outraged, "You write that stuff?! And here I thought someone younger wrote that, but an old man?"
"Hey, I'm not that old." Jiraiya huffed.
Hiruzen chuckled, "Look at you two. You're bonding already."
The old man and Naruto felt embarrassed, until Hiruzen spoke, "Now then, Naruto. Jiraiya is set to train you for the Chunin Exam finals. Rest assured despite his antics he's more than capable of teaching you a thing or two."
"If you say so." Naruto replied.
"I'll leave you both to it. Good luck." The Hokage said before taking his leave.
With Jiraiya and Naruto left alone, the old man spoke, "Why don't we take this time to get to know one another."
"I'm down with that." Naruto answered.
Soon enough the two were having a hot bath in the hotsprings to themselves so they could have privacy.
"Oh, I missed the village hotsprings." Jiraiya relaxed.
Naruto relaxed, and spoke, "So tell me about yourself, Ero-sennin." he smirked.
Jiraiya looked over at Naruto, "What did you call me?"
"Ero-sennin. Seems like a fitting nickname."
Jiraiya rolled his eyes, "Everyone's a comedian."
"Sorry, but seriously what can you tell me about yourself?"
Jiraiya answered, "Well, as you know I was also a student under the Hokage's tutelage. But I discovered my calling card as a shinobi by learning with the summoning toads from Mount Myoboku. Eventually I became a master in the art earning the title of Mountain Toad Sage."
"I see. But if you learned under the Hokage, then that means..." Naruto said wearily.
Jiraiya seeing where he was coming from nodded, "That's right. Orochimaru was once my teammate."
"Then you know he's come back."
"I do. That's another reason why the old man called me here," Jiraiya not wanting things to take a depressing turn continued, "So now let's talk about you, Naruto. I already know what you are though. You are two things."
"You know I'm a Jinchuriki?"
"And the fact you are the Avatar." Jiraiya added.
"Good, then I don't have to explain all that about myself."
"Sensei mentioned how you spend six to seven years outside the village training in the art of bending."
"That's right. I may not be the best, but I'm getting there."
"Well, while I may not be able to train you in the art of bending. I can however train you in the art of jutsu."
"Sounds perfect." Naruto smiled.
"And this will be quite a challenge for me." Jiraiya admitted.
"How so?"
"I haven't trained a students in such a long time."
"Really? Who was your last student?"
Jiraiya knew he had to tell him, "Your father, Naruto."
Naruto's expression turned into surprise, "Dad? You trained my father?"
"Uh-huh. And if I can train him I sure as hell am sure I can train his son. It's what he would've wanted anyway."
"How so?"
"The truth is, Naruto. Your father and your mother named me your Godfather."
Naruto's eyes widened, "Godfather? You?" Jiraiya nodded, "If that's the truth then where have you been all this time?"
"I was out of the village on a top secret mission."
"What kind of mission?" Naruto wondered.
"I'd rather not talk about it right now, Naruto. So for now let's just enjoy the time we have. Because tomorrow, we're gonna be getting down for some serious training."
Naruto smirked, "I can't wait."
When nighttime came, Naruto was at home meditating into the spirit world so he can talk to Jinora. In said spirit world, he was already in discussion with Jinora about the events that followed the Chunin Exams.
"And that's what happened." Naruto finished.
"This is all so disturbing," Jinora admitted, "I myself have heard rumors about this Orochimaru, but I've never seen him in person."
"Well, be glad you didn't. That guy's psycho insane." Naruto warned her.
"Still, I'm glad to see you and your team survived the second stage despite him. And that you're all finalists."
"Thanks. So you think Bolin can fly out to help train, Sakura?"
"I'll tell him, but why stop there? I think we could all use a new change of scenery."
"So you're all coming?" Naruto asked hopefully.
"Why not? We'd love to see you fight in the Chunin Exams finals."
"Oh, thanks, Master Jinora. You're the best."
"You're welcome." Jinora smiled.
"Well, I'm going back. Tomorrow my training starts."
"Right. We'll see you soon, Naruto." Jinora said, as Naruto suddenly vanished.
The very next morning by a training field, Naruto and Jiraiya were doing some Taijutsu practice to improve Naruto's physical strength. To handicap Naruto, he was forced to not use his bending or his ninjutsu.
But even without using his bending or jutsu, his hand to hand combat skills were still helping him defend from Jiraiya's barrage of attacks.
As Naruto defended himself, he thought, 'I shouldn't be surprised after training under Master Jinora, Kai, Bolin, and Mako, but I still can't believe how strong an old person can really be.'
The two finally stopped, and Naruto felt to the ground panting, "That wasn't so bad." he said.
Jiraiya replied, "Well, you survived so that's some credit."
"Gee thanks." Naruto said in sarcasm.
Suddenly a dark shadow fell over them. They looked up and saw Pepper the sky bison coming down. Naruto smiled as he and Jiraiya made some space. Pepper landed perfectly, and Bolin Earthbended some stairs for them to go down.
When they eached the bottom, Naruto ran to them, "Guys!" he hugged his former Bending instructors.
"It's good to see you again, Naruto." Mako greeted him.
"You look like you're doing well." Akiza noticed.
"Thanks. You all look like you're doing well too."
"Well, hey there, guys." Jiraiya greeted them.
"Jiraiya?" the group gasped.
Naruto did a double take, "You guys know him?"
"Of course. We knew him since we were adults." Asami explained.
"It's been a long time, hasn't it?" Jinora asked Jiraiya.
"Indeed it has, Jinora." he agreed.
"It's great you could all come." Naruto told the old timers.
"Well, it's not just us, Naruto." Bolin admitted.
"There's more?" Naruto asked, until he heard a roar.
He looked up and saw a red dragon about the size of Soreth flying above them and had three riders on its back. It touched down and the three riders climbed off revealing to be Naruto's Waterbending friend Ming, and two more girls.
Ming had grown to about Naruto's height and her hair had grown to reach her shoulders, her sapphire eyes sparkled as always, and her bust was about 84 cm. Her outfit included water tribe boots, cobalt blue pants, and a royal blue sleeveless shirt.
The second girl was about age fifteen, and a bit taller than Naruto. She had green eyes, black silky smoothe hair done up in a high ponytail, red sandals, black baggy pants with two Fire Nation symbols on the thigh sections, and a red bandeau top that covered her 87 cm bust while exposing her midriff
The third girl was actually ten years old. Her eyes were chocolate colored brown, her hair was short and chestnut colored. And her outfit included green sandals, and an Earth Empire green cheongsam.
Naruto was wide eyed and surprised at the three girls, as Ming spoke up, "Hi, Naruto."
The youngest girl spoke, "Nice to see you, Naruto-nii."
The taller girl greeted him with a flirtatious wink, "How've ya been, sweetie?"
Naruto's face turned red, as he thought to himself, 'This day has just gotten better.'
(And there's the chapter. Jiraiya has agreed to train Naruto, Jinora and the others have arrived with Bolin to teach Sakura, and three more characters have joined them. Don't miss next time, guys.)
