A/N: It's a short chapter, but I hope you enjoy. As always, thanks for reading.
"We only have two more boxes to wrap, and we'll be done.", I tell Christian as we're sitting on the sofa in his study where we've set up the unofficial baby reveal headquarters. We placed copies of the ultrasound and placed them in small boxes which we've wrapped. The boxes will be handed out tomorrow evening during the dinner we're having at the house. "I can't wait to see the reactions when they open the boxes."
"I bet they'll be excited but not as excited as we are." Christian picks up one of the last two ultrasounds, gazing at it with a teeth baring grin. "I remember looking at Oliver's first ultrasound. He was a little peanut, but he was the cutest little peanut. Now we've got two cute peanuts." He sets the ultrasound in a box and stares at it a few more seconds before wrapping it.
"I wonder if Kate and Olivia have kept their word and not told anyone. I wouldn't be upset if they did, but I'm just wondering."
"I'm sure they did.", Christian mutters. I notice that he suddenly starts avoiding making eye contact.
"Are you ok?"
"Me? Yeah...yeah...I'm great.", he insists. I wrap the last photo while looking at him every few seconds. With the photo finished, I place it on his desk with the others. Christian stands and finally looks me in the eye. "I've got something to admit."
"I'm going to take a guess that it has to do with you not looking me in the eye. What is it?"
"I accidentally told my dad about the baby today. He and I were having lunch, and I had glazed baby carrots. I'm not sure what came over me. There I was staring at the carrots when I suddenly blurted out that we're having another baby. I'm sorry." I fold my arms and shake my head. "Go ahead and let me have it." Instead of getting upset, I start laughing. "You're laughing when you should be furious."
"I'm not going to be upset over you doing something we agreed to do. Remember it was only a few days ago that I let the cat out of the bag."
"And afterwards we decided on the reveal dinner. I knew it was going to be difficult to hold in the secret, but I was determined to not tell anyone."
"Despite your determination, the fact that we're having another baby is so huge that the best secret keeper would have a hard time not revealing it.", I tell him as I run my hands over his chest.
"You're not mad?", he asks.
"Not the least."
"Sweetheart, thank you for inviting us to dinner. It'll be nice to spend some time together before your father and I leave for our honeymoon.", my mom says from her end of our phone conversation. I stir a dash of honey into my tea and glance over at Oliver who's sitting in his bouncy seat.
"What time are you and Dad leaving tomorrow?"
"At seven. We're going to try our best to be in bed by ten although our excitement might keep us awake." I smile to myself, thinking silently about the baby announcement which will certainly add to their excitement.
"I'll try my best to make sure you and Dad are finished with dinner and home at a decent time.", I giggle.
"I might not be able to see your face, but I can tell you're in a very good mood."
"It's probably because I'm excited my newly remarried parents are leaving tomorrow for their well deserved honeymoon." And because I'm pregnant.
"Is that all?", she asks as Oliver starts crying. With the phone now on speaker, I lift him out of the bouncy seat and feel that he's in need of a new diaper.
"Mom, I'm sorry for having to cut this call short, but I need to change Oliver." At least now she won't have a chance to continue asking me about my good mood. "I'll see you and Dad tonight."
"Ok sweetheart." I press end on the call and kiss Oliver's cheek on my way upstairs.
"Baby boy, your timing was perfect.", I whisper to the baby.
"Mia, how's the food truck?", Christian asks while we're sitting in the living room before dinner.
"It's going well. We had a large crowd this morning until the rain started coming down. Even then, we had a few customers here and there. Business picked back up once the rain let up."
"She even ran out of hamburger buns yesterday.", Nicholas says with a twinkle in his eye that's directed at Mia.
"I was on the verge of freaking out, but luckily I had some bread that I toasted and used to patty melts. The customers loved them so much I'm adding them to the menu."
"You're making me hungry.", Elliot chuckles while rubbing his stomach.
"Dinner will be ready soon.", Christian replies as my parents walk through the foyer. "I was wondering when the two of you were going to arrive."
"We realized we didn't have as much packed as we thought, and somehow time got away from us.", my dad says.
"What he said.", my mom adds with a nervous laugh, making me wonder if there's another reason behind them being late. I cringe slightly at the thought. "Kate, have you and Elliot started any wedding planning?"
"Only that we want the wedding to be memorable.", Kate replies. "Elliot came home the other night with a huge stack of bridal magazines. I told him there's no way he's going to see my dress before the big day."
"And I told her I didn't want to see the dress before.", Elliot sighs. "I only bought the magazines a good gesture." He leans back in his spot on the sofa, narrowing his eyes at the table that's against the far left wall. "Am I seeing things or are there several wrapped boxes on that table?" Christian stands and extends his hand to me. Once I'm on my feet, I take Oliver from Grace and walk with Christian to the boxes. "Not only are you feeding us dinner, you're also giving us gifts? Christian, Ana, that's very generous but not necessary."
"It depends on what the gifts are.", Mia giggles. "That was a joke by the way."
"We do have a little something for everyone. It's not an expensive gift, but it's one that Christian and I are very excited about.", I say as Christian hands everyone their box.
"I wonder what it could be.", Kate says even though she knows what the box is about.
"Can we open them now?", my dad asks.
"Yes. You can open them.", Christian answers. He and I stand back and watch our loved ones open the boxes. A collective gasp fills the room when all boxes are open.
"You're pregnant?", my mom asks me.
"I am. We're having another baby."
"Another blessing.", my dad smiles.
