FENRIC'S MASTER PLAN
"So that's your newest move, hmm? The so-called Wolf Queen, no matter how powerful that she is, won't be able to stop my avatar, Doctor. None of your allies will," Fenric said as he, the Doctor, and the Elder Gods watched the coming fight between Victoria Collins and Stefania from the Board.
"I wouldn't underestimate my friends just yet. Others have too in the past and they've always winded up regretting it. Donna Noble once saved the universe from an entire fleet of Daleks so I think that she's more than up to handling that poor girl that you've turned into your latest puppet," The Doctor said.
"You still don't understand do you? You still think that you have me at a disadvantage just because we're currently playing this game together don't you?" Fenric asked with a sinister smile.
"Don't I? We are both unable to personally intervene in certain events, and we have to attack each other through our allies. Those are the rules of this game, and they're all that's keeping you from causing massive destruction just like you ordinarily would. You've already started to play the game so you can't back out of it now," The Doctor insisted.
"Oh, I'm still playing by the rules, Doctor. I am using Stefania as my chess piece just as you are using the Wolves as yours, but my new Queen is far more than just an ordinary vampire now. She has been given part of my power, and therefore is far more than any of your allies can handle. She will soon crush them all, and then Masada will be hers," Fenric said with a smirk.
The Doctor was unfazed by his confidence as he said, "Like I said, don't count on it no matter how powerful you've made her. You may have turned her into a god, but I've seen both Donna and Martha eat gods for breakfast. While we're on the subject of Masada though, what is your interest in that place anyway? You just keep going after it over and over again. At first I thought it was just because you wanted to wipe it out so that the vampires would have the advantage on Earth, but now I think that it's something else. You're almost obsessed with destroying it. Why I wonder?"
"As usual, you're far too clever for your own good, Time Lord. You'll find out the answer to that question very soon now though. The upside for you is that you won't live long enough to regret it once you do," Fenric said with a chuckle.
"Remember our agreement, Fenric," The Toymaker suddenly spoke up.
"Yes, I still remember it. All of us want revenge on him though so I felt safe in making that statement regardless of the outcome of our particular agreement," Fenric said in an annoyed tone.
"What agreement? And what does it have to do with any of this?" The Doctor asked suspiciously.
"I want in on this agreement whatever it is," Victoria Waterfield said.
"Victoria, wait. You don't know what you might be getting yourself into," The Doctor warned.
"Well, they can just explain to me then, can't they? They'll have to if I ask to be a part of it," Victoria said with a wicked smile.
"You're not a part of this particular deal and you never will be. You're not the true Great Intelligence so you have no right to enter into any deals with us," Fenric said.
"So you're going to be like that are you?" Victoria said as a cold look came into her eyes.
She gestured at Fenric and he began to scream violently even as she closed her hand together into a fist. She began to laugh evilly even as Fenric struggled to resist her sudden attack.
"Victoria, stop!" The Doctor shouted as he looked at her in concern.
Victoria suddenly let him go as she said in the Great Intelligence's voice, "Do you still think that I'm not the real Great Intelligence?"
"Soon you will pay for that, human. I will truly enjoy slowly ripping you apart atom by atom while you scream for mercy the entire time," Fenric said as he glared at her.
Then the Doctor cringed as a familiar voice suddenly said, "Enough of all of this squabbling already! Honestly you Elder Gods are worse than children. Don't you have any manners at all? Now both of you make up and apologize to one another right now. And remember . . . say something nice."
Missy now appeared out of the shadows as she stepped forward to stand next to Fenric. Apparently the two of them were already working together.
The Doctor stared at Missy in disbelief as she said with a malevolent smile, "Hello, Doctor."
The Doctor now knew that the stakes of this game were much higher than he had thought that they were. Missy would only be here after one thing and one thing only: power.
"What is so important about Masada?" The Doctor asked her.
Missy shook her finger at him as she said, "Uh, uh, you naughty boy. You're not getting anything out of me. You'll find out soon enough just like everyone else will."
Then the fight on Earth began to start at that very moment causing all talking to suddenly stop as everyone's attention was now firmly on its potential outcome. The Doctor now hoped more than ever that his faith in Donna and Martha was justified.
He didn't even want to think about what might happen if they lost.
Back on Earth, the Wolf Queen had already begun to attack Stefania by telekinetically throwing every large thing in the area that wasn't nailed down at her. Alina now watched in horror as large pieces of Masada that were still lying around after the last battle there along with giant boulders that were so huge that they could have gotten their own zip code were hurled straight at her sister.
"I told you to wait until Donna got here!" Alina shouted in frustration.
"She was just about to start the fight herself. I could see it in her eyes," The Wolf Queen said.
"You're making that up," Alina said in disbelief.
"I'm sorry but I had to strike first, Lina. I know that she's your sister, but I have to take her down right now as quickly as possible while I still can. You don't understand what's going on here. We cannot afford to let her win. In fact, the universe can't afford it," The Wolf Queen said as she continued to hurl everything that she could at Stefania.
Stefania began to laugh even as several of the enormous rocks and other pieces of debris that had been hurtled at her began to close in on her. She didn't seem to be worried at all that she was about to be smashed into pulp at any moment.
"Stop it! Stop it!" Alina screamed at the Wolf Queen as she ran towards her ready to attack her herself.
"Sorry, Lina. I really am," The Wolf Queen said in a sad voice as she hurtled Alina away from her with an outstretched hand and sent her over a mile away in only a matter of moments.
"Oh, I bet you are. You want to kill me just as badly as I want to kill you. The only difference is I'm actually going to enjoy it. Watch me, Victoria. Watch and see just how outclassed that you really are here. Watch and see what true power is!" Stefania shouted as she pointed at the large boulder that was about to be the first thing to hit her.
Then her eyes and body glowed with power as everything that the Wolf Queen had just thrown at her was instantly incinerated!
"It's even worse than I thought. Much worse," The Wolf Queen said in a shocked voice.
"You don't know the half of it, but you're about find out," Stefania said as she gestured at the Wolf Queen and smiled while she began to scream in absolute agony.
"If you like being a wolf, so much why don't you go all the way, Victoria?" Stefania said as she began to chuckle.
The Wolf Queen's transformation was soon complete, and she was now just an ordinary wolf with no human intelligence whatsoever who cowered before the rapidly approaching vampire. Stefania smiled at her former enemy now as she eagerly patted her on the head.
"You're a good girl now that you're just an ordinary animal, aren't you? If you're nice to me from now on, I might just keep you as a pet. Would you like that, girl?" Stefania said with a huge smile.
"Did she just turn Victoria into an actual wolf?" Donna asked in a disgusted voice.
"Yes, she did. Now do you see why I called you to come here?" Alina said as she finally made it back to the battlefield using her superior speed as a vampire.
"I see that we're really going to have our work cut out for us this time alright. I've definitely got to send in the heavy hitters first on this one to soften her up a little. Dorothy, Tori, and Kallista, you lead the attack. Lilith, you back them up and everyone else should be prepared to come in whenever and wherever you can. Be careful, all of you," Donna said.
Lilith sighed as she saw Donna looking at her when she said that last part. She was really going to have to prove to her that she could more than take care of herself or she was going to keep her out of the front lines for good.
"Hello, girls! Aren't you happy to see me again? I'm certainly happy to see you. Oh, come on. Don't act like that. I'll make it quick for old time's sake I promise," Stefania said even as Dorothy began to make the air around her explode.
"Don't you know any other tricks, Dorothy? This one's gotten old fast. I mean blowing things up is so yesterday. Let's face it. You've been doing this same one-note trick since you were traveling around with a jacket full of badges. I like to be far more inventive with my kills. Case in point," Stefania said as she pointed to Emmy.
Emmy didn't even have time to scream before she found herself completely turned into glass. Then Stefania smiled wickedly as she fired a massive blast of energy out of her hands that completely shattered Emmy into a million pieces.
"No!" Both Calliope and Lilith screamed at once even as Stefania laughed maniacally.
"Please tell me that you can fix her. Please," Calliope asked Lilith in a devastated voice.
"I don't know. I'll do everything that I can though. You know I will. First I'll make sure that she doesn't get away with this," Lilith said to Calliope.
"You're going to pay for that, scumbag, because I know who you really are now. It's you, Fenric. You're talking through her and using her like a puppet. That means that I'm not going to be holding back against you," Dorothy said in a furious voice.
"No, I'm not Fenric but you're close. My mind and personality were reshaped into a duplicate of his to replace this body's original consciousness which was completely erased," Stefania said.
As Alina looked at her in shocked disbelief with tears running down her cheeks, Stefania said, "That's right. Stefania is you knew her is dead. Doesn't it just break your heart?"
Then she gestured at Alina and the vampire screamed as her heart was ripped apart killing her instantly by turning her body into dust.
"I guess it did, didn't it?" Stefania said as she laughed.
"Oh, my God!" Donna said in a shell-shocked voice as she stared at this with wide unblinking eyes.
"Not yet but I will be, Donna. Just give me time. Do you give up now or do you want to lose more people? If you back down now, I swear that I'll let you all go in peace. I only care about Masada not you. I really don't have the time or the inclination to mess around with you right now. I'm so close to final victory, Donna. So close that I can taste it," Stefania said in an impatient voice.
"Not yet you aren't. You're not killing anyone else today," Donna said as her voice suddenly became hard.
She rapidly started typing away on her Vortex Laptop even as Dorothy continued to attack her along with Kallista, Tori, and Lilith who were hurling every kind of attack that they could at her. All of them were using every ounce of power that they had now in a concentrated, no holds barred assault against their former friend.
Michelle joined in the attack too now as she created a mirror duplicate of Stefania who started to use a copy of her own power against her. Even as the double attacked Stefania on her behalf, Michelle was also working on sending parts of her to the Mirror Verse in a two-pronged attack.
Finally Stefania seemed to experience some real pain at last now as she started to scream from the massive assault being directed against her. Even she couldn't deflect all of it in time before it reached her. Donna wasn't about to let up on her either as she now finished what she was doing with her Laptop, and a temporal rift opened up behind the struggling vampire.
"Keep pouring the power on until you push her into it. I'm sending her so far into the future that she'll never come back," Donna said.
"Ooh, the heat death of the universe! How original! Luckily for you I'm here to help shake things up a little bit," Stefania said.
She gestured at her mirror duplicate and suddenly the duplicate turned on the others and began attacking them right alongside the original Stefania. Michelle was taken completely by surprise by this because no one had ever been able to take control of her duplicates like that before.
Luckily Michelle was able to easily dissolve the duplicate so that Stefania quickly lost her temporary advantage.
Donna now widened the rift even more by using her Laptop, and the pull from it became almost irresistible now. Stefania could feel herself coming very, very close to being violently wrenched inside of it, and it was all that she could do to keep herself anchored in place where she was.
"That may kill this form yet but I'm far from finished or did you really think that I was the only one that Fenric sent here?" Stefania asked.
Suddenly the Matriarch, Clara's dark side given form from the future, appeared next to a woman who was radiating Vortex energy like a small sun. This was Nightshade. It was a name that everyone would soon learn to fear in the days to come.
As it was though, no one there knew who she was just yet. If they had, they would have seen that their fight with Stefania was just a warm-up.
"Take Masada. Now!" Stefania ordered even as she continued to be driven back step by step towards the rift.
"I don't take orders from you, Vamp Lady, even if you are Fenric's mouthpiece. I work for one person and one person only got it?" The Matriarch said indignantly.
"Just do it or I'll kill you myself. Painfully," Nightshade said in an irritated voice.
"That's the one," The Matriarch said with a shudder.
"And who are you supposed to be, Sunshine Girl?" Donna asked Nightshade as she tried to keep her flippant tone up despite feeling numb inside after what had just happened to Emmy and Alina and being absolutely terrified of losing anyone else.
"Your doom," Nightshade said as she began to attack the Wolves too now with blasts of Vortex energy so powerful that they instantly disintegrated everything that they touched.
"You're really the life of the party aren't you?" Donna said even as she and the others had to run for their lives from her.
The Matriarch smiled as she now took this opportunity to rush toward Masada which was now completely defenseless. Fenric and Missy's plan was working perfectly. She would raze Masada to the ground in no time, and the Wolves would be way too busy just trying to save their own lives to stop her.
Suddenly she cried out in pain and hit the ground with a shocked look on her face. She hadn't even known what hit her, but she certainly felt it as her powers immediately started fading away.
"It's called a Vortex Inhibitor. It temporarily takes away your connection to the Vortex. It won't take it away completely so that you won't die without it, but it'll completely negate your powers for a while. You're going to be completely helpless for the next couple of hours," Martha said as she came up behind her.
"There's one thing that you should have learned about me a long time ago, Martha," The Matriarch said in a weak voice.
"Really? What's that?" Martha asked as she watched her warily ready for anything.
"I'm never helpless," The Matriarch said as she pulled out a staser and shot Martha with it at point blank range.
Martha fell to the ground instantly without a sound as the Matriarch smiled and slowly continued towards Masada undeterred even by the sudden loss of her powers. She was completely unnoticed by the other Bad Wolves who were now too busy fighting for their lives to pay attention.
All was going exactly according to Fenric's plan.
The Matriarch now quickly hacked into the computer controlling the front gates and entered the gated city in no time. She smiled as she saw that there was no one coming to stop her. Fenric's last attack had done its job far too well. There was no longer anyone left to defend this place.
Then she soon found out just how wrong that she was as Mina Harker suddenly appeared out of nowhere and bit her in the side of the neck. As the Matriarch struggled to push Mina off of her, neither of them noticed another person quietly slipping by them.
Back at the Board, even the usually emotionless Doctor felt as if he had been kicked in the chest as he tried to deal with what had happened to his sister even as he continued to watch what was happening at Masada in a state of emotional detachment. It was almost as if all of this was happening to someone else somehow instead of him.
Fenric smiled in triumph as he said, "And now the final piece is moving into play at last in order to place you in check, Doctor, and no one is around to stop them."
"Wrong. I'm going to fix this, Doctor. All of it. I swear," Victoria said as she suddenly teleported away from the Board.
Hecuba frowned as she said, "And did you anticipate that, Mr. Wonderful?"
"I did actually," Fenric said with a mischievous smile.
"Victoria," The Doctor said in a lost voice even as his mind struggled to come up with a way out of this.
"Better say good bye to her now, Doctor. In fact, you'd better say good bye to everything soon. The time is fast approaching when the entire universe will tremble before the Elder Gods once more," Fenric said.
Then the Doctor's hearts stopped as he realized that Missy was gone too now. He hadn't been able to see who had silently snuck past the Matriarch and Mina but now he knew. He knew all too well now with a sinking feeling in his chest.
Missy laughed as she caused the generators of Masada to all suddenly start self-destructing at once. As one after another of them blew themselves to pieces in a domino effect of complete and utter devastation, Missy quickly teleported herself to safety.
Masada now came crumbling down as the vampire hunters inside of it ran from it in absolute terror. Mina and the Matriarch stopped fighting as they too ran for their lives while the entire city, the work of several lifetimes, fell apart around them.
Missy smiled as she surveyed her handiwork from a safe distance. Soon the city would be completely gone with not a single stone left standing.
That's when the real fun would begin.
Victoria meanwhile arrived nearby to help the Wolves and to bring back the dead before this whole horrible mess could go any further. Unfortunately she had no idea that Fenric had already planned for her interference and had a special opponent waiting there just for her.
He finally showed himself at last as soon as she appeared. Victoria sensed him immediately and turned to see him standing there grinning at her in gleeful anticipation of what was to come.
"Hello, Victoria," The Great Intelligence said with a wicked grin.
"That's not possible. You were sent away forever. Andromeda trapped you within a time loop in your own pocket universe. There's no way that you could have escaped," Victoria said in disbelief.
"Luckily for me I had help," The Intelligence said.
"Fenric," Victoria realized.
"He knew that you might try to interfere with his plans so he freed me to gain my revenge on you. Now I'm back to reclaim the power that you took from me and with it your life. You're been posing as me long enough, you foolish child. Now it's time for you to finally learn at last that there is only one Great Intelligence," The Intelligence said as he began to glow with power while he faced off against Victoria.
Meanwhile at Sylvia Noble's home and completely oblivious to the horrible danger that his family was in, Wilfred Mott was paying his daughter a long overdue visit. He rang the doorbell and then waited in silence as his nerves started to get the best of him.
By the time Sylvia came to the door he was visibly shaking.
"Dad, are you alright? Are you having a heart attack?" Sylvia asked in alarm as she saw this.
"No, sweetheart. I'm fine. I'm just a little bit worried is all," Wilf said.
"Worried? About what?" Sylvia asked as she let him inside her home and motioned for him to sit down in her living room.
As soon as Wilf sat down, he said, "I don't know how to tell you this, darling, so it's making me really anxious."
"Tell me what? Nothing's happened to Donna has it? I'm always worried about her going off on all of those missions. I swear I'll kill that Tyler woman if something's happened to her!" Sylvia said as she slipped into a rage.
Wilf couldn't help but smile at that. If only Donna could see her mother now. She'd have no doubts whatsoever about how she felt about her if she did.
"No, no, darling. It's not about Donna," Wilf said quickly.
"Then what is it then? Is the baby alright?" Sylvia asked as she began to calm down.
"The baby's fine. It's about me," Wilf said.
Sylvia began to look extremely worried as she said, "You're dying, aren't you?"
"No, not yet. That's kind of what I've come here to talk to you about though. What if I could put off dying for a long time to come? Wouldn't that be a good thing?" Wilf asked.
"What on Earth are you talking about?" Sylvia asked completely confused now.
"I want to live to see Kim grow up, Sylvia. I don't want to miss any of that. I want to be there for her just like I was for you, and I'm too old to do that now. I've almost reached the end of my rope, darling," Wilf said.
Then he took a deep breath and said, "At least I have as a human being anyway."
Sylvia's eyes widened as she started to finally understand now. Donna had told her about Rose's potion and had warned her that her father might one day want to use it. That day it seemed had finally come.
Even after having had some time to process that possibly happening, she still wasn't sure how she felt about that.
"Sylvia, there's a potion that I can take that would make me into a Time Lord like Donna. It would let me live hundreds maybe thousands of years longer, and I'd get to see Kim grow up and become an adult that way. I'd also be there for Donna. I know that she still needs me sometimes even though she's become so much stronger these days. I would like to be there for both of them," Wilf said.
"So you've already made up your mind about this then?" Sylvia asked.
"No, not yet. I wanted to see what you thought about it first. How would it affect you if your dad was suddenly an alien?" Wilf asked in an uncertain voice.
"That's why you were so upset? It was because of me?" Sylvia realized.
"Yeah. I didn't know how you would react," Wilf admitted.
"Am I that horrible?" Sylvia asked in a quiet voice.
"No, it's not that, darling. I just didn't want to hurt you or upset you. I won't do it if you don't want me to," Wilf said.
Sylvia hesitated for a few moments before saying anything as she quickly thought things over in her mind. For Wilf, it seemed like an eternity as he patiently waited for her to speak.
"What do you want to do though, Dad? That's what's really important here isn't it?" Sylvia finally asked.
"That's what Donna said," Wilf said as he started to smile.
"I knew I raised a smart girl," Sylvia said with a smile.
"It doesn't bother you then?" Wilf asked.
"No, not anymore. I've already worked through all of that with Donna, Dad. I was afraid that she would be different when it happened to her, and even after she wasn't I still kept waiting for her to slowly change and become someone else after a while. She never did though. I realize now that she's still the same old Donna and always will be. Nothing will ever change that," Sylvia said.
Wilf started to speak when Sylvia quickly interrupted him and said, "Yes, I do know about regeneration, Dad, but I'm sure that Donna will even be more or less the same after that too. She's just too stubborn to ever lose who she really is, and I know that you are too. Not that I'll be around to see it I'm sure. Or maybe I will."
She smiled at him now as Wilf asked, "Are you saying that you've thought about it using it too?"
Sylvia nodded as she said, "Yes, of course I have. I'd love to see Lauren grow up. I'm still not decided yet though. What about you, Dad? I'll support you no matter what you decide. I want you to know that."
"I . . . I'm still not sure yet. I just wanted to make sure that you were going to be alright about it first before I decided," Wilf finally admitted.
"You sound like you still need some time to think things over yourself. Whatever you decide will be alright with me, Dad. I promise," Sylvia said.
"Thank you, darling," Wilf said as he hugged her.
Even as he did so he started to weigh the pros and cons of the decision in his mind. He still didn't know for sure yet. He would have to talk to Callie some more about it later.
What he didn't know at the time was that there might not be a later.
Back at the Board, Fenric watched with a huge smile on his face as Missy quickly searched through the ruins of Masada. Then he simultaneously cried out in triumph just as Missy did back on Earth as Missy found a hidden hatch underneath some rubble.
Missy quickly opened the hatch and descended into a hidden room where she found a box that had been sealed for over a hundred years. She quickly opened it and removed a large shield from it. Missy returned to the surface in triumph while holding it in her hands.
"She's done it, Doctor. She's taken it right out from under their noses! Now all of those attempts to destroy Masada have finally led to success at last. The vampire hunters tried to hide it underneath Masada long ago when they first built it because they feared its power. They never understood just how right they were. It's mine now though. I finally have Weyland's Shield!" Fenric cried out in triumph.
The Doctor's groaned out loud now as he finally realized at last what was going on here. Weyland's Shield had been created by another Elder God named Weyland long ago in order to kill Fenric. It gave its user great power and in the hands of another Elder God even the Doctor shuddered to think at what it could do.
"Correction. We have Weyland's Shield. We still have to see who wins the final contest between us before it's decided who will get to keep the shield," The Toymaker reminded Fenric.
"Yes, and no trying to back out of it either. My brother and I will definitely not be pleased by that, and not even that shield will protect you from both of us even if it will make you nearly omnipotent. Nearly isn't good enough to stop the two of us working together," Hecuba threatened.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that, my dear. Luckily for you though I'm a man of my word. We will still play a game over who will possess the shield's power just as we agreed on," Fenric said.
"You pudding brains won't ever get the shield to play any games for it in the first place," The Doctor suddenly said breaking into their conversation.
"There's no use making idle threats, Old Man. It's too late now. You've lost," Fenric said with a smug grin.
"You really are an idiot aren't you? You just gave an object of near infinite power to the Master!" The Doctor said as he looked at him like he was insane.
"She won't be able to use it, Doctor. Its power was depleted long ago. It will need to be replenished in order for it to work once more, and only the Elder Gods know how to do that," Fenric said.
The Doctor gave him a disdainful look as he said, "She's the Master and she's absolutely brilliant. In fact, she's almost as brilliant as me. If anyone can figure out how to do that it's her. There's a reason why she's the most dangerous person in the universe!"
"Nonsense," Fenric said with a snort.
"Is it?" The Doctor said as he pointed to what was going on back on Earth.
To everyone in the Board's horror, Missy smiled evilly and waved good bye to Fenric who she knew was watching her as she said, "Ta ta! Thank you ever so much. I couldn't have done it without you."
Then she instantly teleported away taking the shield with her even while the Bad Wolves and Fenric's pawns continued to fight in the background. None of them even realized that their fight was completely meaningless now.
"Idiot!" The Doctor growled at Fenric who looked on in shock.
Next: Where is Missy going with the shield? Does she really know how to replenish it? Can anyone stop her now? Will the Bad Wolves and Fenric's allies be able to stop fighting long enough to try? Also are Emmy, the Wolf Queen, Alina, and Stefania really gone for good? Is there no way to save them? Plus more with Wilf as he finally makes a decision at last. Will anyone be left to care though?
