Hey everybody im back wanted to going right away again. Hope you're liking it so far.
Helena
They headed for where they knew Leon would be. They had taaken the elevator but since they were only a few floors away they should walk the rest of the wat affter all there were Lickers around and they didnt want to be trapped in an elevator with one. They finally found Leon. He had reloaded his pistol. "Well? Any luck?"
Ada told him, "I just ran into Chris Redfield. The blue print for the lab is on the second floor."
Leon's eyes flashed with concern. "Did he try anything? I don't think he knows yet about the truth in Lanshiang."
She assured him, "Everything is fine with that. We fought a little but I showed him all the evidence we need."
He looked at Helena and asked, "Any luck? Contacting Sherry I mean," She shook her head with a sense of anguish. "None."
He sighed. "Damn it...we had them with us earlier. I should have given Jake a PDA or at least a radio to get in touch with us. God knows there's enough dead cops everywhere. And soldiers. I know he would have known how to do it he was a mercenary. He was as capable of being resourceful as Sherry."
Helena reloaded her pistol having taken down a lot of J'avo. She had found an AR-18 on the corpse of a dead gun collector she had found on the way and had been lucky the man had five magazines. She began to move towards the elevators. Leon turned to Ada as they walked asking, "Hey are you okay? You look a little bit worn out."
She sighed. "I ran into John again...I barely managed to get away from him. I dont know what it's going to take to bring him down for good. He seems determined to come after us. After me. He's a monster but that part of his brain that remembers me is still alive. That part is still human and that makes him more dangerous."
They decided to take an elevator just to be on the safe side. They made it to the 2nd floor without incident. They came out, Helena with her handgun raised. Ada had her crossbow ready for anything that dared to leap out at her."
They heard gunfire automatic weapons, shotguns and at least one Sniper Rifle. Lots of thumping, and yelling. They slowly moved forward to investigate. Helena heard a gruff voice yell, "We have to do something! This bastard is tearing us apart!"
Just then a body landed at Helena's feet causing her heart to jump from her chest practically. The face of the man was destroyed to the point where she could not distinguish what he had looked like the flesh ripped away, revealing the grinning skeletal bottom beneath his helmet still stuck to the top of his scalp which was still partially intact but the helmet dug into the ghastly wound on top.
He reached up grabbing Helena's leg. She froze in the moment staring at in horror before the man collapsed face down, hiding the disgusting mess that had become the poor guy's face. He was a BSAA agent. Ada warned the two of them, "I think that's Barry in there he's a friend of Chris Redfield," She checked the ammo on all of her weapons. She approached the combat zone through the darkness but watching as muzzle flashes lit the room up every now and then. Leon checked his own weapon. "I had a little company while you two were gone, a few carriers so i'm down to my last two mags,"
Helena asked, "Why didn't you use your pistol?" He whispered back as they slowly moved, "Three of them mutated and they weren't easy to bring down. i think I miss the older zombies."
Helena thought back to the zombies in Tall Oaks. They hadn't been that show but they were easier and dumber than the J'avo they had encountered in China that was for sure. Maybe he meant the older zombies he was used to in Raccoon City. Still...the people in that town didn't stand a chance and neither did the people in Tall Oaks. We didn't even face J'avo on U.S. soil so if they weren't ready for the undead they won't be able to handle this.
She scolded herself for reflecting on the past when right now there was a newer danger. "Damn it! He's got Bates! Let em have it but don't hit him!" They came around the corner and saw a large creature about eight feet tall maybe more slamming a BSAA agent down to the ground with a tentacle around his ankle throwing him back and forth. The other agents, plus Barry Burton unloaded on the thing but had their Rifles set to semi automatic so that they could be careful with their shots. Rebecca then cried out, "Hold your fire! I have an idea!"
She withdrew a knife and slashed at the tentacle. It bled but did not do much else however it let the BSAA agent collapse bloodied on the floor giving him a break. She hacked at it again and severed roared. "STARS...!" It charged at her and hit her sending the petite redhead flying back and it ran grabbing her by the throat carrying her in the air. In its other hand some kind of purple fluid began to surface. Ada fired three bolts into the back of the things head. It screamed dropping her. Rebecca scurried crawling away back to her weapon.
Barry fired his magnum hitting it three times in the torso. Despite Helena opening fire with her Assault Rifle, Leon with his H&K, Ada with her crossbow and the other BSAa agents now letting the thing have it on full automatic it headed for Barry. It grabbed him the same way it had Rebecca but threw him against the wall. He collected the handgun off of one of the fallen BSAA agents who had perished in this fire fight since Barry dropped his own gun. He fired seven shots at its head one of which hit it in its white mostly stiched up right eye. "OARAAHHHHH!" Helena concentrated her fire at the back of its skull, seeing rounds tear through its tough flesh slowly but surely.
It finally went down. An unknown Marine walked up to it and said, "Trust me on this..." He fired an entire magazine from his pistol into its head despite it laying there as it bled purple. Barry went to his wounded team mate. "The thing...stabbed me in the fucking shoulder...since when do tentacles stab,man...?"
Barry tried to get him to rest. "Just hang in there Bates. We made it this far we're going to get you some help, buddy. It's a long shot but there are military checkpoints all over the city and Fema tents. Saw a lot of red cross tents. We'll convince some of these soldiers to help you, okay? You'l rest up until it's time to get the job done..."
The BSAA agent coughed up blood and Rebecca went to his side doing what she could for his external wounds. "He has internal bleeding. He'll need medical attention fast."
Bates asked, "Why did it come after you, Captain? And what the hell does stars mean?" Barry sighed. "It's the team I was on back in Raccoon, Greg. I think I know what this thing is. Natalie will you get me a reading with the Genesis?" She did. "It's the Nemesis, sir. Originally deployed in Raccoon City for assassination of all members of the Special Tactics and Rescue Squad. Our files on it says that it was destroyed by Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira just before they escaped."
Barry looked stressed and Helena, though she didn't know him, could see that he was. "Yeah...I guess that thing would have tried to kill me if I had arrived in Raccoon City earlier. Then maybe none of us would have lived. Guess the bastard came back to finish the job."
Rebecca used a green herb on Gregory's wounds. Another BSAA agent, a woman of Asian descent limped in, helped to walk by the Marine. Gregory groaned. "I keep having near death experiences...Bar.,..I swear one of these are going to be for real...this hurts...really bad..."
Rebecca checked him out noticing the brusing on his skin."He's gonna need surgery. It's not even a good idea to move him but we have no other choice."
She gave him an herb capsule and made him take it. "This should help decrease the bleeding but you're still gonna need surgery."
Barry sighed and looked up at Helena. "I've met these two before but I don't think you and I ever met before. I'm Captain Barry Burton. Delta Team SOU."
Helena introduced herself."Helena Harper, DSO. I'm really sorry about your team."
He had regret in his dark eyes."Yeah...we just came from Oceana Aldea...a small town in Puerto Rico. Lost half my team down there and now up here...all I have left is Rebecca, Natalie and Yoko. And this guy he's a friend of Rebecca's."
They all introduced themselves and Helena found out just who Rebecca was in relation to Chris who in turn through his sister Claire was connected to Leon. "What are you three doing down here anyway?"
Ada explained, "We met up with Chris. Filled him in on my own situation and the need to destroy the lab underground. We're looking for it ourselves now. He might have went down there himself."
Barry reloaded his weapons. He turned to Rebecca and Billy. "I'm gonna need a favor..since you said it's too dangerous to try and move him we're gonna sit on Greg here. Rebecca, when you finish cleaning up Gregory's wounds can you and Billy go seek out one of the medics in one of those emergency tents for Greg? I don't want to lose another team mate. We're going to move him out of this room and get him somewhere safe that this Nemesis bastard can't find him but we can't move him far."
With that he lifted the BSAA agent up carefully. Despite less bleeding the man cried out in pain and with a gasp he passed out. Barry checked his pulse to make sure he was alive. He was. Rebecca said, "Sir, I'd like to help out but we already have that agent Billy brought in he's on the brink of death too and since i'm the only medic here I need to keep an eye on him and on Greg."
Barry cursed, "Damn it!"
Yoko used a green herb on her own leg. "Captain, this was just a flesh wound for me a scrape no big deal. I can go out and find one of these medics and try and get them back here..."
Rebecca interrupted her, "We don't just need a medic, Yoko we need a surgeon. Somebody who can save their lives. What about you, Billy can you go with her?" He said, "I wish I could but as of right now...I'm AWOL. I don't know how long Reggie will be able to cover for me before they figure out I took off. I'm here to do what I can to help because that';s more important than my orders and I might even get court martialed and they'll probably find out my real identity and put me back on death row. Right now it's too big of a risk."
Barry sighed setting him down using a backpack as a makeshift pillow. "If that's the case, Becky, then I better go with Agent Suzuki. Can you and the others hold down the fort until I get back?" Rebecca nodded. "Yes sir and i'll do whatever I can to take care of anybody's wounds. Even other BSAA agents, police officers or soldiers."
"Atta girl but be careful not to use too many supplies. We're here to help the people take back the city and that includes emergency forces but we also need to ration for our own team. There's not that many of us left."
Helena told the rest of them, "We're going down to the lab. We're gonna try and get to the bottom of this. It was Ada's idea and I think she's right. After ths I need to go find my partner."
Barry grabbed three head sets that were spares from his own pack. "Take this in case you find anything and when you find the lab let me know so that once we get back we can head down there as soon as possible we'll need the coordinates."
Leon offered his hand, "Good luck to you. Be careful out there."
Barry shook it. "You too, kid! Ladies, you be careful too. Rebecca, I'm counting on you."
With that, Helena, Ada and Leon began to resume their search for the room that would lead to the secret elevator to the lab. Helena's heart was still beating from the fight. She hoped they wouldn't have to encounter that thing again. It had prioritized STARS members or rather former ones but what could she do if next time it was just down to her, Leon and Ada? Then it would go after the three of them based on them being an immediate threat. Debra...if you're watching or listening...I'm doing this for you...all for you and all the other countless victims of bioterrorism. If you can...please watch over me...be our guardian angel. We need all the help we can get.
She brushed a tear from her eye thinking of her sister and was glad that neither Leon or Ada saw. She had said back in Tall Oaks she would cry when this was all over and she had bawled for days. For weeks but now there was a new threat and while she was still not done mourning, the time for mourning was not right now and it would have to be put on hold because this wasn't yet over the way she thought it was once Simmons had died. She still would properly finish grieving and move on letting Deb rest in peace but right now they had a war to win.
Okay so that's all for this very short chapter but the next will be longer. Helena is not one of my favorite characters but I am trying to expand more on her character based on what i know from the one game she was in. Maybe I can make her likable in this story then again I also know that a lot of you happen to like her as a character so I guess everybody is different.
So to be fair to her I will start the next chapter still from her point of view and include a flashback with insight into her brief "relationship" with Leon in the time between Lanshiang and now which in this story would be a few months. I want to bring this story into 2015 and probably 2016 since the year is nearly up eventually but right now have to wrap a lot of things up with the story before I do.
Gregory just can't catch a break will he live or will he die? He was stabbed with the tentacle and that is how Jill was infected but then she survived. Also I know it's kind of a dick move with the last chapter and the cliff hanger I left you with claire and steve so i promise to get to that in the next update which if things go right should be in a couple days maybe less if I'm lucky.
Anyway please R & R no flames. Then again if you read this you probably read the chapter update anyway so please review xd and i hate having to repeat this if you are reading the story even if you already read most of the chapters if you review please start from chapter one and on not like fifteen chapters in it's just common courtesy. Anyway, thanks
